  2. I follow my mom's recipe which doesn't use any soup or milk. In a casserole dish, I layer the bottom with slices of butter. Top the butter with the thinly slice potato, one layer. Add sliced onions on top of the potato layer, then salt, garlic power and Parmmy cheese, then another layer of thinnly sliced butter. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish. The top layer gets the same as below, except it gets significantly more Parmmy cheese on top. Bake at 375 for 45 to an hour. No, this is NOT a low cal version, but the potatoes will get crispy and butter saturated. Feel free to dip any bread into the butter at the bottom of the dish! HH

  8. We tore through Letterkenny and I'm still shaking my head. Not a movie, TV series, but pure Canadiana and funny as hell. Fore-check, back-check paycheck boys! HH
  9. Give the Gretzky Cream Whiskey a try... we've been converted! HH
  10. Just got back from a trip to the grocery store. I watched a women grab EVERY orange in the rack, squeeze them then put them back. She's lucky to have survived our encounter. HH

  15. A couple of other things to consider.... -if you have pets, be sure to pick up 2 months worth of food as soon as you can. It's likely that they will close those stores, sooner than later. -they say that washing your clothes and putting them in the dryer will kill/get rid of any virus on your clothes... just remember to completely disinfect your laundry basket between washing/drying and folding. If the virus is on your clothes, it will infect your laundry basket. You will be back to square one. HH
  16. Good ole Clorox bleach, mixed with water to dilute is what you want. If you are cleaning surfaces, use bleach and let it sit on the surface for 5 minutes before you rise it off. @Lew... good luck finding isopropyl alcohol, if you did, count yourself lucky. Metro has announced early closings starting today...8:00pm. HH
  17. Lew, if I recall correctly, your wife had heart surgery not too recently? If so, you and her MUST self isolate immediately or potentially deal with the ramifications to come. I find it difficult to get my head around the actions of so many people during this crisis and yes, it is a crisis. Recent numbers out of the U.S. are showing younger people are also getting severely ill and those numbers are on a straight line up. We are two weeks behind Italy, so if you want to know what will happen here, take a look at Italy and make your plans based on what you learn. Lew, stay home!!!!!!!!!! HH Edit to add... forget the kids going back to school this spring, that's all but done. They will be lucky to get back in September. We are in this for the long haul.
  18. Have a read through this. Here's a numbers guy putting forth the results of his study of the virus. This should give us pause for thought... and MAYBE keep our collective a$$es at home! https://medium.com/@Jason_Scott_Warner/the-sober-math-everyone-must-understand-about-the-pandemic-2b0145881993 HH
  19. Perfect Vue on Hay Bay. Drops mic and walks away HH
  20. I have heard through a reliable source that this bug does not like the cold. I joked with this person that I may self isolate in front of an ice hole and his response was suggesting that I wash my hands in the cold water, it'll kill the virus. HH
  21. What I have heard Brian is that people who get it, beat it and feel well enough to go back to work can still be shedding the virus... and they don't know how long that will continue. HH
