Covid 19 and Canadian Border closing
Headhunter replied to Pochucker's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
Total cases at my local Metro, 8 confirmed. All can be traced back to department managers who removed masks at any opportunity they saw fit! It's maddening! It also look like "Uncle Dougie" is going to lock us down again for 28 days. Announcement at 1:30 today. HH -
Virtually every commercial vehicle on the road today has tracking systems built into the vehicle. I see nothing wrong or different in Dan's approach. And given that Dan's business is responsible for the employee, the vehicle and their actions, while driving his company truck, he needs to cover his behind or end up paying insurance through the ying yang. And if you can help Brian with hooks, perhaps you could provide a link to a good beard trimming device at a good price! LMAO HH -

Covid 19 and Canadian Border closing
Headhunter replied to Pochucker's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
Getting back on track... my local "Metro" has two confirmed cases, that may end up being a lot more. To make matters even more "interesting, both my teenage kids work in that store! One confirmed case of a deli worker, the other is in the produce section. My son works in the deli and my daughter, produce! Little to no direction coming from the store. They did do a "overnight deep clean" last night. We contacted public health and will be getting both kids tested after a 7 day waiting period. So here's where the stupid are dragging us around. One of the deli co-workers decided to make and drop off some soup, to the confirmed case in the deli. No problem right.... no, big problem as they not only dropped off soup, but decided to stay, in the house, for a visit! I swear, the stupid are going to drag us all down with them! HH -

Left to it's own devices, the virus will double the number of infected every week. So, I am sure you can figure out the math here. HH -

Well, with numbers continuing to climb and discussion of a third wave, it's likely that we'll be locked down, before we open up more. March Break for the kids was moved to mid-April and there are discussions that they may finish the school year with everyone going virtual. 32% of current cases have been linked to schools. HH -

Curious as to why you continue to go on about the border opening when you have already told us numerous times that you have no problem legally coming into the country. I am not trying to be a Richard here, just trying to understand your motivation? HH -

Gov has announced the border will stay closed at least until April 21st. Also, the U.S. has agree to supply Canada with 1.5 mill AstraZenica doses. Apparently, they are not using them and they are nearing their expiration date. They are also sending a bunch to Mexico. HH -
The question becomes when to add the sauce! HH

So the other day I was at the grocery store and by mistake, I bought a package of "Maple Bacon". Having made that mistake in the past, I tried to unload it on a neighbour. I couldn't give that crap away! They made the same face I did when I realized the err of my ways, kinda like they were sucking on a bottle of vinegar! I did eventually find one who would take it, so i gave them a nice big ripe tomato for their troubles. God I hate maple flavoured anything! HH

Well, I got the Astrazenica Vax on Friday. No ill affects at all, other than a bit of a sore arm at the injection site. Three weeks until it's at "full power" and a booster shot yet to come. No "blood clot mon" here! HH -
True Chris, but CA dries clear, less likely to stick out like a sore thumb. Luthiers (guitar makers) use CA on these type of repairs to finished guitars. It's quicker to set, take sanding well and will match up colour wise. HH

Hoe much are they willing to pay you to store all that stuff? How long has it been hanging there? Is the line even usable at this point? These are questions I would be asking. HH

Go to the dollar store and buy cork trivets. You will get two for a buck. Sand the trivets, in order to get a nice pill of cork dust. Add Super glue to the dust and mix thoroughly. Apply slurry to the handle and allow to dry over-night. Sand smooth with rough to fine sandpaper. If needed, apply another coat of superglue to seal the repair. Reel handles are probably available from the manufacturer. HH

Buddy of mine used to fish the PWT, back in the 90's. He fished many of the tournaments across a number of states. At that time many were running Optimax's on their boats. I found it interesting that Merc would travel, along with the tournaments, to each site, dragging along with them two transport trucks full of parts, tools and mechanics. Guys would be blowing the power heads on the Opti's on a regular basis, so much so that Merc kept a stock of them in the rolling shop. Contestants would limp in in the afternoon with a blown head and the Merc guys would have it replaced on-site for the next days fish. What does that tell you about the perceived reliability of those motors by both the manufacturer as well as the owners? HH
