  1. I hadn't really been looking at the MarCum Flashers I guess just because I havent heard much about em... I realize they are priced better but what do you loose/gain with that over the Vex/IM?
  2. Ohh and an upside is it has the regular sonar too and I can buy the mount and put it on my tinny too, and I can also get GPS on it too... The basic units are approx the same price
  3. Well for a while now I have been looking at getting a Vex and hopefully I will be within the next little while, but I have seen the Ice machines and was wondering which of the two you would get if it was your choice... Figure the Vex will be more durable and usable in really cold temps but what are the advanteges and disadvantages to each? Thanks for any input Ohh yea if ya havent keyed in it will be for ice fishing eyes and perch

  9. Well... heres what I have to say... I have lived in a smoking house all my life and of course I still do... although it may not bug me as much now as it did in the past when I was younger I had breathing problems, which may or may not have been attributed to the 2nd hand smoke but the smoke sure didn't help. As for in the car, if you are under the age of smoking you shouldnt be allowed to inhale the smoke in a car or in a house, and as for parents I am not telling you you're right or wrong but from my point of view, If your gonna smoke keep it out of your kids lungs they have enough to deal with anyway and they don't need the extra junk in their lungs.

    Dove

Just stumbled upon this again... sorry about the quality, it was a scanned photo I took a while ago, But i find it neat...
  17. So... I would probably recommend an 8wt 9ft rod... This will be enough to bring in steelhead and salmon and of course the bass as well... I would say a 3 piece is reasonable because 3ft sections are not too bad to carry around and 3 pieces wont ruin the action... Line, well I would say a Weight forward line to match the reel and rod (8wt rod/8wt reel/8wt line) which would be floating... This would allow large bass flies to be casted as well as egg patterns and all the associated salmon/steel stuff too. You can get rods and reels in almost any budget but you want to make sure blank and drag quality is good... Hope this puts you on your way a little farther
  18. Nice catches, Thanks for the great report

  20. If you get into the decent sized ones the fillets are not too bad and add into the equation an electric filleting knife and you are good to go...

  22. Only 7 more days now for the most of us... looks like the water temp might start to get prime with the chilly weather
