I have an OKUMA "Guide Select" and its a great rod.. Mines 6'6 Med power \rated for up to 15 lb line, and med taper which is good for the all round fishing I do with it. You can also get it in a MH which is most likely what you want if you want to use it for muskie too... Other good stuff is it was under $100 (I know Sam carries em), and best of all it has a lifetime warranty... I have enjoyed using it and its definately a good product, Ohh right and it is a one piece... Good luck on your choice, Bill

yup, i sure did learn a bunch about fishing for them salmons and bows today...

Well Percher was kind enough to let me come along this morning for a day of salmon, and Bow fishing in the lake. We met up at about 7am and were launched shortly after... after a while out there trolling we see one of the rods bounce and get released from the rigger... Fish On! and sure enough it was my first Salmon. Not huge, but very fresh and healthy..., and great to have finially gotten one. some more time passed and the same thing happens, and the rod is released, Yet another FISH ON... this was to be my first bow this fall and after a couple nice leaps in the air we got it boated for a quick pic, and then back into the drink it went... this one had a lamprey on the side as you can tell from the mark in the flesh. It was a great day on the water, not a cloud to be seen and comfortable water conditions, and air temperatures all morning long. Again thanks Percher for gettin' me on those fish and my first salmon.

Okuma makes good rods... I havent used the Aventa but know that they are good quality, and have a decent warranty too... I have a bunch of okuma rods and am satisfied with every one of em.

Dont Rule out Okuma... they make a good product at a great price... I have a bunch of their product and am satisfied with it... They have rods and reels for any use/price range..

Sage Makes a Pink Fly rod... I think its Launch , thats if you wanna start flyfishing, maybe a custom made rod too...

I was watching the same program I assume... some interesting info on there and to be honest I believe most of what was said on there... really though we have alot of control in the economy... we choose who we want to succed by voting for them with our Dollar... (spending money in the sector or specific business) and if we refuse to go against what we dont believe is fair we will continue to be scammed, and cheated...
