I stick with the Strike king and they seem to work fine...although i have this one old one in the box fish can't resist but i don't even know who makes it? I am pretty new with bait casters and reluctant to spent big dollars for one. I did how ever pick up an Ardent C400 on clearance and am amazed how it casts. I first wanted to over power or follow thru too much but soon realized with no brakes i can throw long distance with little effort. even with a 2 1/2inch x rap My buddy and daughter were amazed how far i tossed my frog into the pads...Not sure how the fish would make it back to the boat from 50 yards back in pads Once i iron out the casters i have now i will upgrade to a nice one.

Not sure where on Hay your starting but from hay bay head out to the big bay look for the church on the hill and find and troll the weed line there...Worm harness with a bell weight to get you down some. Good luck P.S. not sure on the gar but tons of northerns and good sized bass on the shores of hay bay. Oh and sheep head to boot

What an amazing fish...I've seen a few in my travels but they have never seemed to take interest in anything throw at them...wasted a hour outa a walley tourny chasing a 4 footer around a shallow bay lol

I'll be out for a few hours in the morn as well. Oh wait, it is morn already....better hit the hay 6:30 comes fast. Fish were off Sunday evening haven't been out since, hope they are back. I'll keep an eye out for the boat with reg# on back or missing down one side

Skunked to myself is no fish at all....even if its not the targeted species it always feels good to get at least something in the boat besides weeds!

Was out same time and area, funny all the wife and i caught were the weeds lol...well a couple OSB 2sunfish and a perch. nice to see so many boats and people out enjoying the lake, been rather lonely out there the last few months.

Fished wellers bay campgroud tourny...1 small eye 1 small pike and a hand full of OSB. saw plenty of guys with 6-8lbs fish, not sure what there secrets were lol also came across the biggest gar I've ever seen pushing 4foot i swear!

I laugh now but i got stuck in rice lake not long ago early in the year water levels were down lucky I got friends on the lake and a quick tug freed me no damage done.
