  1. Same goes for the canoe if you take it out on the St. Lawrence River
  2. Points to ponder. Catch and release fishing... http://s1204.photobucket.com/user/tennis_pwn/media/FishWhoAreCaughtampReleased.jpeg.html
  3. Interesting read. Many fisherman have already adopted some of these practices through selective harvest. https://ca.news.yahoo.com/fishing-hunting-wrong-animals-study-says-aim-younger-181032228.html
  4. Actually, the Catholic religion is usually associated with the Liberal party. The protestants are the ones usually associated with the Conservative party.
  5. How does your voting process for presidential candidate work? In Canada when the parties select a leader they often have multiple votes. Candidates with fewer supporters are dropped from the ballot; their supporters will have to vote for a different candidate in future rounds. This continues until one candidate gets a majority of the votes. If you have a similar system, Donald Trump does not strike me as someone who would pick up a lot of supporters from the other candidates. He seems to be a love him or hate him type of candidate. If he doesn't get a majority on the first ballot I don't think he will get majority on later ballots. If they only have one vote and select the person with the most votes regardless of whether or not it is a majority, then he has a good chance of winning.
  6. I think we are pretty independant from England. I cannot think of anytime they have actually stopped us from doing anything. The Queen is just a figurehead.
  7. The boat will need to be licensed (numbers on the bow) because it has a 10 or more horse power motor. The existing license will need to be transferred. You also need your Pleasure Craft Operators Card... but you needed that for existing boat.
  8. I know some people have tried runnig GoPros off their cannon balls. I have thought of trying it with my Muvi brand camera.
  9. I would be nervous about attaching an expensive camera to my fishing line. I guess you could attach it to some heavey line and run a light leader so that you will still have the camera if lose your lure.
  10. Do you prefer that over a Spin Doctor and Fly?
  11. They do look similar, but I don't think they are very closely related. From what I understand, bowfin are not very good table fare.
  12. Not mine. I understand that is came off a downrigger 85' down on the U.S. side of Lake Ontario. http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/bb404/tennis_pwn/GoldFishDownRigger.jpg
  13. Plastic canoes are not particularly light. I wouldn't expect these to be significantly lighter than aluminum. They may even be heavier than aluminum. They can probably handle rock better than other boats. You will still have to worry about your prop though.
  14. My friend has the Elite-4. His is an ice fishing model and it has the GPS and Chartplotter (We were able to use the GPS/Chartplotter feature for depth on Lake Ontario when my unit was not working). If you are happy with your current unit. You should be able to get the same unit with GPS and Chartplotter. I think it was $360 at BassPro last time was there.
  15. Many of the pure breds started out as a mix of two or more breads and eventually were recognized by the kennel clubs. It is entirely possible that a Labradoodle will be considered be a pure bred in the future.
  16. They just can't seem to crack that 11 game barrier. Hopefully they can still take two out of three and get the division lead back.
  17. Do you read the news? Oil has dropped from over a $100 a barrel to under $50 a barrel. When we were paying $130 /litre oil was over $100 barrel and the U.S. prices were higher than too. It doesn't make much sense to compare the prices we were paying a year ago when oil was over a $100 / barrel to what the U.S. is paying now when oil is less than $50 barrel. Canada has more taxes on gas than the U.S. so our prices will be higher even when the dollar is at par. But the prices will be closer when our dollar is at par. Our dollar has dropped quite significantly as the price of oil has dropped; that is one reason why gas prices as the pump have not dropped as quickly as the price of oil as fallen. The U.S. prices at the pump will have dropped more significantly because their dollar value is not offsetting the savings in the price of oil.
  18. That is factored in to the stats. In terms of deaths per man/hour, police work is not a particularilly dangerous job. There are too few COs to compile meaningful stats. But, I figured that COPs are the closest thing that I could compare them too.
  19. $1,300 to $1,450 per week as per the link. Probably not too dangerous. It may be similar to police work which is statistically safer than many factory/manufacturing jobs.
  20. Missed opportunity? Perhaps she was flirting.
  21. I don't have any experience myself. My friend uses one for his iPhone. He has mentioned that we were near some points where we caught fish in the past, so it must be able to store way points. It also gives him speed. I am not sure what else it provides.
  22. Jays take the division lead. Half game up on the Yankees.
  23. Have you considered just using an app for your iPhone? You may need to use your data, but $600 or $700 plus tax buys a lot of data.
  24. I have used three different launches on Scugog. I would rate Port Perry as the best of the three. The launch is free but you pay to park. It is a good quality launch with docks. I have also used one at a Marina one the west shore of the island, Goreski? Not quite as nice of a launch. I also used a free launch on north end of the island. It was free but had street parking only and you may not be able find parking if you do not get there early.
  25. I wondered that too. They did mention that they also prevent algae growth and sunlight reacting with chlorine. Perhaps the black works better for those issues.
