  1. Well that takes CFP outa the picture! LOL Just kidding of course...... Cheers, Ron...
  2. I'll second Boat Tech, Grant Mills is a stand up guy, does quality work and really knows his stuff when it comes to Minn Kota trolling motors. He is a authorized dealer and warranty centre. I too have had bad experiences with Aikmans but that was for servicing reels. Had 3 baitcasters serviced, all he did was clean the outside. I had to take one apart to see why it was still "grinding" and the inside of the reel was still with the old grease which blackens over time. I took the other 2 apart and same thing, he didn't even look at them.
  3. Chris Purdy caught a Muskie? I don't believe it for one minute! lmao!
  4. I too have owned both. The Terrova is by far more superior a TM. To be able to operate by both the foot pedal and by key fob is by far, very handy. The guy at the back of the boat always gets the key fob. When working the high current areas, the anchor mode paid for itself right then and there. We could sit in current in a river and anchor in key areas with out dropping an anchor. We had an area so fine tuned, I guarantee it put another dozen brookies in the boat. The anchor mode was effective fishing for White fish as well, no ropes to get tangled up in. I have used the plotter a couple of times, it is handy on a couple of weed lines I fish for Muskie, but would rather have control of the TM myself. The stow and deploy???? WHY DID IT TAKE THEM SO LONG? Bottom line, many advantages to the Terrova. Is it worth the extra coin? That is your own decision. For me it was worth it. Cheers, Ron.
  5. LOL There is always open water somewhere in Ontario. Last year, we hit the Niagara on a regular basis if we weren't on Simcoe ice fishing.
  6. I find it best to just use the boat on a biweekly basis during the winter months. Saves on fuel stabilizer and such.
  7. One of my favorite times to take photos, just after a big snow storm.
  8. nice.
  9. Don't underestimate the thin wire on the micro. The first one I bought, I now use for work. (It's awesome for flushing down toilets to trouble shoot). I also use it for detection in walls. Plenty tuff I guess is what I'm saying...

  11. Ahhhhhh, The first signs of winternet!
  12. I purchased one of the micro units before they came out with the recording mode on them. I found it so useful, I purchased another one with the recording mode. A lot of time spent on new lakes, I simply send down the camera to get an underwater view of structure I'm looking to fish. It has been a great asset for the Kawartha Lakes in tracking down Crappie. I would highly recommend getting this micro unit as it easily fits in your pocket, you can get 2 days of run time with it and with the record mode, you can review it on your monitor at home. The only downfall is: the screen is small and I have found in one instance fishing for Rainbow trout, I didn't notice fish holding in tight to the bank until after I reviewed it on the puter. Bottom line: Yes it is a handy gadget to have in your arsenal, however, it would be the last necessity required to improve your fish catching abilities.
  13. Actually, Pike did not migrate from Seymore Lake (Campbellford) until after the Lift locks were installed. Before the locks, there was a natural barrier - Rainy Falls. On the other end, same thing, There was no real connection to Balsam Lake before the lift locks were installed from the Mitchel Lake side. Balsam Lake being the highest point of the TSW, originally water flow ended up in Bay of Quinte.
  14. That is all I use in the condos I maintain. You can't go wrong with Kidd brand. Hard wire with 9 volt battery backup.
  15. Thanks Wayne. oops.... my bad. Sorry for the error.
  16. There was more to it Terry.
  17. Apparently mine was though... (Please do not post VERY SPECIFIC information on fishing spots, ie pinpoint locations and maps. It is our belief that sharing this type of knowledge to the general public is not at all good for the resource itself. When communicating info on spots, please keep it to email or a PM.)
  18. WHY CAN'T YOU JUST SAY AN EASTERN TRIB? Blatantly naming the river does not help matters.
  19. Nice hunt TJ. Jesh, whoda thunk it. drinking at the huntin camp..... But Jello shooters..... seriously???? LOL Cheers, Ron...

  22. Very nice Edwin! Truly another piece of functional art. Pairing your skilled craft with Spiels fine workmanship would certainly be the envy of any angler on any of the tribs! Cheers, Ron...
  23. Welcome to OFC Ryan and Ashley. There are a few to watch out for around here, apparently, I am one of them! Cheers, Ron...
  24. Atta boy Rich! So much for the WGSF now.....
  25. I fully understand Mike. One of the best rods I own in my opinion. Paired up with the CI4 there is no weight at all. I'll be doubling up a few of em for next year. Now if only they would come out with a 13-15 footer....... Cheers, Ron...
