I met a fairy today that granted me one wish. "I want to live forever," I said. "Sorry" said the fairy, "I'm not allowed to grant wishes like that!" "Fine" I said, "I want to die after the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup!" "You crafty bugger," said the fairy.

Sure would be nice to read some fishing reports
Ron replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
It took a while to find the Lakers for us but I think we found ''The spot''. With the white out conditions on the weekend, it did a great job blocking out the background. We have been going out miles from shore only to find out we should be just walking to our spots. -
Quite a few years ago, A good friend of mine was showing off his new camera to all us guys in 1 of Rob Hyatts rental ice huts on Nippissing. He pulls it out of his camera bag and as he turns, he bumps the frame holding the bunks in place and then this caused his camera to slip out of his hands. That bounced several times before it went "plunk" down the hole it goes. We even saw the splash of the water! Everyone was speachless and I remember buddy saying..."Oh my wife is gonna $#@#$%$ kill me!" On Sunday as we were packing up, we were all chuckling about his mishap and then something caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. I take a second look and low and behold, there it is,,,, buddies brand new camera just a mere inch away from the hole. It didn't go down after all! To everyone's surprise, especially our friend, the camera was in perfect working condition. The fortunate soul is on this site, you know who you are. LOL Cheers, Ron...

Nooch, as we all know him by, is very alive and doing well. He has gotten up north only a few times this year as he plays on weather conditions. I usually run into him every other morning or so. Next time I see him, I will show him this thread.

Things people don't know about the highway traffic act

Backing into driveway from highway. Who has right of way? People lay on the horn on me all the time. -

Here's one...you can turn right on a red light provided the intersection is safe to do so. At a 'T' intersection, where there is no right hand turn, can you go straight through once you come to a complete stop and intersection is clear? You are not crossing traffic or lanes and no signs posted saying different. EDIT... it is a double lane intersection and you are in the right lane. -

Kewl. I won in September. Did my shopping thing, went to the til and when it was all added up, it came to $100.25. Funny thing is, I didn't up it up previous to that. Spent it all on trout paraphernalia.

Ya ya ya.... Now get back to your room and tie up some more rods....

I won the monthly 100.00 gift card from Gagnon Sports in Oshawa. I always thought these kinda sign ups were a bit of a gimmick but I am now a believer! I always thought if they were ligit, I would at least recognize the name of one of the monthly winners. I never expected it to be my name! So to say "THANKS" to Gagnon's Sporting Goods in Oshawa, I want to give them a simple plug in hopes that more people register to see if they can win the 100.00 monthly gift certificate. I simply registered my email address with them and get their monthly flyer. (It's the box under Restricted firearms in stock box). http://www.gagnonsports.com/index.php Now, what to buy with that 100 bucks..... Cheers, Ron...

Nice read Bunk, I have never done a trip to Nip in July. Fishing for Brookies would definitely be a challenge that time of year. The first camp site, did you see the Moose skulls and hides? Looked like they were there from last fall. It is a great secluded camp site. No matter which way the wind blows. It's a great area for going solo in my opinion. Done it a few times now. Cheers, Ron...

How far will you drive for a day of fishing?
Ron replied to thegrumpyfisherman's topic in General Discussion
Well, for a day trip, We have fished the St. Marys River. 8.5 hr drive, one way. Have been known to fish St. Clair for a weekend, got blown off the lake on the Saturday, packed up and fished Stoco Lake in Tweed on the Sunday. 4 day weekend on Nipigon. Left on a Wednesday after work, fished the Thursday, Friday and Saturday. After fishing til dark, pack up and start the 14 hour drive home to be back Sunday afternoon, unload toys and load tools for work on the Monday. Heck I have even done 4 hour drives one way just to go to a 2 hour Muskie Canada Meeting! (Hamiltonn, KW, Sudbury and Ottawa) No regrets...... (I think I got a fishing problem)..... Cheers, Ron... -
When I was young and full of vineger, I use to commute from Cobourg to Hamilton. Did that for 6 months, discovered that only sleeping for 4 hours a day kinda took a toll on my weekends. Some days I would just sleep in my truck in the parking lot. Decided to rent an apartment. After the one year lease was over, I quit my job and found something with half the pay right in my home town. Cheaper in the long run. The reason for doing it in the first place was because of the job offer. The pay was just insane! Reality kicked in and I discovered there was more to life than work.

Really cool Mike! Wish I was there... At least i got a 94.5 incher this weekend. Cheers, Ron...

Where will the next world record Muskie Hale from????
Ron replied to Regan Thompson's topic in General Discussion
If and when the Muskie takes hold on Simcoe, I will put my money on that lake. Plenty of emerald shiners to get them started, then they can start to acquire a taste on the plentiful Perch. Once they get up to the 36" size, they will start to roam with the newly emerging Herring population. There are plenty of suckers and ling as well. Once you see them following the schools of whitefish, look out! For now, I will just enjoy fishing and not worry about catching a new world record Muskie. For that matter, even if I did catch a "potential", there would only be 2 people who would know, my fishing buddy and myself. -
Hey, the blandings turtle gots a woddie!
-
Forget it Mike, Skip the Cabelas store and hook up with us for Muskie instead. It's only another 3 hr drive to where we will be. It'll actually be my first time out Muskie fishing this year. Can't wait..... Got an open seat for ya..... Cheers, Ron...
