  1. I’d check the idle screws and mixture screw on the carb first before assuming a seal leak.
  2. Looked at a online parts diagram for the 2000 8hp Johnson. It looks to be the same model carb as in the video above.
  3. Not sure if this You Tube video will help, the motor in it appears to be a few years older. Not sure how much they changed the carb over the years.
  4. Make sure you get moose too! 😉
  5. Exactly right. Target the problem areas, leave the rest of us alone.
  6. Exactly. The news report was from The Lake radio station in Kenora. It was a stock photo of Ford and Greg Rickford, our MLA for the region.
  7. I live on the edge of a lake, have my own launch, only fish with my family members. I’m going fishing, if the damn ice ever melts 😄
  8. My 2007 Fishhawk had the trolling motor battery in the front centre compartment near the bow. Came from the factory that way. Had that boat for 12 seasons with no issue.
  9. One wheel on my 2005 Silverado does this every winter. It is common problem with aluminum rims, especially as they age. As soon as the weather gets cold, the bead seal leaks. I can go all summer with no problem, in cold weather, it starts to leak. The colder the faster it goes down. I have to top it up regularly through out the winter.
  10. 1987 Chevy S10 2.8 V6, 5 speed manual. Itwas gutless and got horrible gas milage.
  11. Took less than two weeks for mine to show up in the mail. I was surprised.
  12. Keep in mind that propane has 27% less enegry than an equal volume of gasoline.
  13. Mine started to act up. Wouldn’t stay lit. Watched this Youtube video and did the same. It works great now. https://youtu.be/8CqW0HT_7VQ
  14. I have one of these for refilling 1 pound containers from 20 lb tanks. The only problem is the amount of crap that can collect in the bottom of 20 lb tanks. I screwed up one catalytic heater because of this. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XWSRCC2/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B06XWSRCC2&pd_rd_w=oeGk3&pf_rd_p=4b7c8c1c-293f-4b1e-a49a-8787dff31bcb&pd_rd_wg=vdyxx&pf_rd_r=FG0MCJ3TTNKJXJMM2V29&pd_rd_r=c0f0d66c-0c1a-43ca-9362-838fe8812522&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyUU5YQUFIUllISkw4JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjcxNTU2Q0JZWFgxV0xaUTBYJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAyODcwNDAyMjQxU1BRNFVQWk9PJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfZGV0YWlsJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
  15. The basic question here is, “ Is it racist to expect immigrants to assimilate into Canadian culture?”
  16. Could be a relay acting up in the cold. Should be one each, one for up, one for down.
  17. Love my Kingfisher Falcon. Mines a river jet, but the outboard Falcon is almost identical. https://youtu.be/MphxCznDn1Q
  18. Had a Crestliner Fishhawk for 12 years with no problems. That said, my new Kingfisher is better build quality, materials and fit and finish,. Mind you, it’s quite a bit more money.
  19. Take a look at Kingfisher. Great quality.
  20. Love it. It has good power, great in deep snow, handles and rides nice. Pulls my portable loaded down with no problem. Ownedit since new and has been a great sled.
  21. In the year range you specified, both AC Panthers and the Bearcat came in 570cc fan cooled. It’s a good solid motor with good power for a fan cooled.
  22. Check the compression before buying. Pull the plugs, put the tester on . Pull over a minimum of 5 times with throttle held wide open. Both cylinders should be with in 10 % of each other and no less than 120 psi. Then reinstall . Start the sled an let warm up to idle. While idling, spray a little ether towards the crankseal behind the primary clutch. This tests for leaking crankseals. If the engine idle increases when the ether is sprayed, the seals are leaking and the motor will burn down from running too lean. Check track conditions, running gear, sliders, and suspension. Also drive belt, primary and secondary clutch condition. My 2007 AC Panther 570cc Fan Cooled has been a great sled for ice fishing.
  23. Me as well. Very little extra cost for piece of mind. Remember just dumping it in the tank at seasons end and not running the motor means only stabilizer in the tank, not through the whole fuel system. Since one can never be sure of when then last use will be, having stabilized fuel all year removes that worry.
  24. I bought the fittings, primer bulb, went to my local auto parts store and bought quality automotive fuel line and made my own.
