  1. Hey Cliff...ENJOY...my friend...ENJOY !!!
  2. Stressed from being "skunked" ???...You gotta be kidding ! What else can you do where the only care you have in the whole wide world is whether some dumb old fish is going to pull your string? And if you don't put no bait on the hook you don't even have to worry about that... I remember a trip one beautiful fall day on Rice Lake when none of my spots produced...the guy I was fishing with asked "what do we do now"...I replied "sit back, relax, and enjoy the day your God has given you to live in"...
  3. The Best Little Stayover...in Port Dover Well, dang,...it rhymes
  4. Great report and pics...Photoz will be proud of you...He also got Crappieperchhunter and myself turned on to carp fishing a couple of years ago...my first time was shortly after he bought his first pod and rod and baitrunner...I just had to go down to P'boro to see what anyone would spend $3250.00 to catch carp with...Yikes!...(I've bought cars for less...LOL) As a kid, I used to use a hand line that you wound around a few times then tossed into the drink off the causeway at Port Perry then fastened to a stake in the ground CPH and me at Carp Point...(his shoes match my outfit...LOL)
  5. I was thinking how tame the old wooden rollar coaster at Sunnyside Beach was Lew or was that one before your time? Tame by to-days standards but we got a few thrills from it...LOL
  6. Only ever fished out of Meely's "Loony Toons"...a 20 to 22 ft pontoon boat and If I ever won a lottery that would be high on my shopping list if he hasn't sold it by then...Lots of room to walkabout...would prob support a portable potty like Joey has and a BBQ... Maribeth doesn't swim so is afraid of boats but I'm sure she would feel at ease on a pontoon...very comfortable to fish out of too in my opinion but it depends on what fish you are after...
  7. Nice mess of fish there Glen...Enjoy !!!
  8. Geeze...now I'm cornfused...I googled wasps last fall as there was a nest in the crawlspace under the house that I wanted to remove...It said that all but the queens die off (hibernate) each winter so I waited a long time for cold enough weather to do its thing and sure enough...no wasps to be found...I cant believe they ate through the nylon screen to get under there...will use wire screening for replacement... If what Yellowboat sez is right...what you have is all queens so don't let them get too warm or you will end up with your own private aviary(sp?)... Where did the spell-check go ???
  9. Maribeth and I wish you and Sue a great holiday... You sure deserve one... BTW...did I ever mention that ''work'' is a four-letter word
  10. I figured I should give up chasing fast women and betting on slow horses this year but decided to concentrate on how I could reverse the order...
  11. Right back at ya Jack... I guess a "wild" night in store ?
  12. Don't wish to burst your bubble Lew but...I don't think we have seen the last of old man winter just yet... BTW...G'Mornin Mate...I'm going back for a few more

    Hey!

Good to hear you are well...been a while since you sent any jokes... Didn't you hear of having an annual check-up ? It's my dentist I fear most not my doctor...She reminded me last visit that it will soon be time for my annual check-up...(oh no!...not the dreaded rubber glove again )

  18. I'm not too fond of turkey...I eat it but if I had my druthers I'd rather a nice capon or ham or rare prime rib roast... Of course it wouldn't be Christmas without some figgy pudding with caramel sauce...and homemade shortbread
  19. A big "DITTO" for me...

    Recipes

Fisherman's Pie Peel and cook 6 medium potatoes...mash with some butter and milk...salt and pepper to taste Grate 1/4 cup old cheddar cheese Cube 1 lb white fleshed fish (I prefer haddock) into 1 inch pieces Place in baking dish...toss in a couple of handfulls of frozen peas Spoon 1/2 can of Campbells Cream of Mushroom soup (or Cream of Celery) over fish and peas Cover this with mashed potatoes then sprinkle cheese over top Bake in 400*F oven for 25-35 minutes depending on the thawed extent of the fish Serve with a tossed salad I make myself a cup of soup by filling the remainder of the can with milk and heat it in the measuring cup in the microwave to have while I'm waiting for this pie to cook...saves washing extra dishes...
  25. Warning...Scugog doesn't open for icefishing until 01 Jan 2007...
