  2. You gotta love pier fishing...never know what you are going to hook-up with... WTG with the picture posting...you'll have to explain to me how you got them hosted on OFC Community...
  3. ANDY...checking out my catch off his dock...
  4. Gerritt:...I'm glad your trip turned out well...being with a bunch of OFNers makes for a good time...fish or no fish... "About 45 minutes after picking up Scott I hear OHHHH CRAP!! (that is never a good thing on a fishing trip) Corey exclaims "I LEFT MY BOOTS AT HOME!!!" kinda too late to turn back now.. so here is Corey in his running shoes going on a ice fishing trip... not a good idea.." Dang !!!..that sounds familiar...Now where did I hear that before Big Cliff ??? I know!...it was the trip to Airport Road that your neighbor Paul came along...
  5. Hey Herb: Good to see you are back with us...won't be too long and we will be fishing for ??? (whatever) off of Cliff's dock...
  6. Kinda looks like the new "Grappler"
  7. Ah well...Keep the faith my son...it happens sometimes...believe me... I went 0 for 6 trips icefishing a couple of years ago and went 0 for 4 trips carpfishing last year until we fished for them off Big Cliff's dock... Makes one wonder if they have lost their magic touch...LOL
  8. A Mitchell 300X on a Shakespeare Ugly Stik will be in the $75 range at BPS if it is a spinning outfit you want
  9. Is Goreski's open for parking or do you still have to park 2 miles away ? Can't blame him for closing but hopefully he had a change of mind...
  10. You're right Brian...besides ,he's awake !!! And that's not an OFC toque he's wearing...

  14. I dunno Cliff...The way you keep comin' up with these jobs ever since you "retired" is amazing... Methinks we better hurry up and get out on the ice before you are tied up with some new endeavor... Keep the Faith !
  15. A large blanket over the crate helps to give it the "den" feel as long as the dog can see out the "door" end...
  16. Yep...That's my buddie Jack for ya!... Wadda Guy !!! Like they say Jack...You da Man !!!
  17. I used to icefish Frenchman's in my early teens (58 years ago)...A buddy and I would buy 25 cents worth of emerald shiners from Skinner's on Saturday, take the bus out hwy 2 early Sunday morning then walk down to the bay and chop holes in the ice with a hatchet...used to get lots of perch and bluegills and the odd pike using homemade tip-ups... Fast forward to the late sixties and I would give Simcoe a try for whitefish in the morning and if no luck I would take my kids down to Frenchman's for panfish with the minnows we had left over...I've seen it so good that I would have to take a couple of lines out of the water so I could keep up with baiting their hooks... Have often wondered if anybody still icefished there...over by the south west corner was usually the best area way back when...
  18. Joey said it...best mental health in the world for me is "go fishing"...
  19. I know this was mentioned on another thread but as our M&G is on the Saturday of license free family weekend it might be a good time to bring a friend who has expressed an interest in icefishing but needs a license...I'm sure most of us will have extra equipment that we could lend them to get a "hands on" feel of what it is all about...
  20. Two cats...Ki and Rocky...both black...Ki weighs about 25 lbs and Rocky about 10 lbs...both courtesy of Maureen Both are good mousers... We had to have our old mutt Riley put down a couple of years ago...diabetes
  21. Great News !... That is where the Meet and Greet in aid of Tyler is being held on Feb 24... Motv8tr will be pleased...
  22. Meant to post this this morning but better late than never... .....HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK (NANOOK)...
  23. Thanks Steve for the screen info but that is way more heavy duty than what I need A piece of wire screening 20'' x 28'' will cover the area I need for the summer frame that fits in the entrance to the crawlspace...the other side of the frame has heavy wire mesh to keep the ''critters'' out... I'm sure Roger over at Home Hardware will have something... After I screw it in place this spring I'll spray a heavy dose of WD40 all over and around it...Wasps don't seem to like that stuff...
  24. And I'm riding "shotgun/navigator" for Jack... However I'll be staying in Maureen's cabin as I suffer badly from claustrophobia...even when icefishing in a hut I need the seat by the door...
  25. Hey Steve: Just behind where I'm sitting there is an indoor/outdoor thermometer and the outdoor temp probe runs down to the crawlspace where there is a portable baseboard heater that works from an extension cord up through a closet and into it's own electrical outlet... I usually set the thermostat on the heater at 10*C and plug it in about mid November 'till mid April (the same time I turn off/on the tap underneath for the outside taps... I sure can empathize with you when it comes to having to crawl underneath...tight fit for us FFs...Had to wait 'till later this past fall as wasps had set up housekeeping and it took a long time for them to die off... Would you believe they ate through the nylon screen...Wire mesh this spring
