  1. of course we can chase some Simcoe Whistling Trout (suckers) and there is the Orillia Perch Derby (21 April to May 12, 2007) in the meantime...can't wait
  2. Nice work Jack ! Congrats on posting the pics...
  3. Sounds good to me Brian...as long as the red doesn't spook the fishes...
  4. Welcomr to the OFC family brother... Hang on!...You're in for the trip of your life...
  5. I hope your first day is going well... Good on both of you two...
  6. Boys oh boys!...I don't envy him one bit...been there and done that...Couldn't sit, couldn't stand, couldn't lie down, pacing helped somewhat... Some hospitals have the ultrasound eqipment that blasts the stone into tiny little pieces and makes passing much easier...of course mine didn't... I hope he is feeling better soon...
  7. Maureen is still too emotionally upset to reply here yet...she will soon...she worked all day and is wiped out... Thanks for your words of encouragement for her gang...
  8. She just got a call on her cell phone from her vet that "Dallas" will have to be put down...Unfortunately the bone tumor has weakened the bone in his leg so much that he broke the leg earlier today...very sad for sure as he was a beauty... For those that believe in such things...maybe send up a prayer for Motv8tr to have the strength to weather this storm... Thanks Guys/Gals
  9. I've experienced that before just west of Sibbalds Point...probably caused by fishing out from the mouth of a creek or river is my guess...we moved out further and along the shoreline a bit eastward and ran into clear water under the ice...the current must have been towards Jackson's Point...
  10. The dwarf that cried...WOLF !...Hmmmm
  11. In the fall I remove the feeders from out by the wishing well in the front yard as they get too difficult to get to in the winter ( I get enough snow to shovel in the driveway...thank-you) and just use the platform feeders that sit on the railings out on the front deck... Nice to watch them and try to identify from the book... Also fun to watch the cats go nuts when they see the birds through the window...
  12. Maribeth kinda lost interest in fishing after we moved up here to the north shore of Pigeon Lake...She never was a boat person(doesn't swim) and I think the day we fished off the wharf at Rice Lake kinda did her in...she got seasick from watching her float bouncing in the waves...Our daughter Maureen (aka Motv8tr) got interested in earnest after we moved here... Maybe if I win a lottery or sumpin' and buy a good size pontoon like Meely has for sale (22') and the lake is real calm I might get her back out on the water...in the meantime I'll keep asking if she'd like to join me...
  13. Me?...I'd rather borrow Meely's Uncle Vinnie (The Chin) and Guido to cover my back... BTW...do any here receive air mail letters from Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and The Netherlands asking to confirm name and address and to send $40 or $50 along with reply on the off chance you may have won a sweepstake or entitled to a share of $millions from estates??? Next ones are going back to the post office as I've got enough paper ahead for fire starter...
  14. I gotta agree with Lew... For the price of braid, I'd want at least 4 years of service from it... It's not that I'm cheap....just poor
  15. All the Best Joe...Have Fun !!!
  16. She said Bradford...
  17. Do not know how often they they publish...weekly...biweekly ??? The lady reporter interviewed quite a few people that day so it should be a good read...
  18. Thanks Roger and Joey... That should complete the six winners... Nope not yet...still two to go...
  19. Welcome Rob... Geeeze you make Nanook (72) ands me (71) seem like pups... We used to be the old farts of the board...
  20. Terry called it...we had fun!!! Beauty day...mild, no wind, lotsa sun... Both CPH and I hooked sumpin' but hit the quick release button too soon...several bites but nadda... A couple of photos is all we got for 4 hours of hard fishing...01:30 to 05:30 pm Crappieperchhunter Yours truly We did see some crappie caught by others nearby so they are still in there if anybody is heading up Wednesday (last chance this season) A vexilar would have been handy...tough fishing crappie blind.
  21. Up until last season I used to average about 12 trips per season some were successful others were skunk city... I only got out once last season, the first week of January, then I had an operation on my back and that put the kibosh on the rest of the season.. Saturday was my first trip on the ice this season...4 dinky little perch...but at least no skunk... This afternoon will be trip two... The weather and other commitments, mine and others, did not allow for us to get out...That deep freeze was just too cold for these old bones of mine...
  22. Heading up to Uncle Jack's with Crappieperchhunter for the afternoon crappie bite today...Last chance we can because the lake becomes a fish sanctuary after tomorrow (closed Mar 01 to May 18 incl.) Hope to make a report later this evening... We are targetting crappie but perch and pickerel are welcome to pull on our strings also
  23. Thanks Joey...that's 2 down...4 more to go!
  24. Are you manning the BBQs again this year Bob?...What is your specialty...moose burgers or venison sausage ???
  25. Did anyone get pics of the winners getting their picture taken with Tyler ??? I haven't seen any or did I miss them?
