  1. Travelodge on Carling Ave. Stayed there a few times for conferences.Good clean place, and has a couple of really nice retaurants with good food.It is not right in downtown so you dont get all the traffic and noise, but is within 20 minutes from parliment hill. http://www.travelodge.com/Travelodge/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=11311&cid=GTFTL&brandInfo=TL Too bad mom sold her house, i woulda told her to put out an extra couple of plates, get the guest rooms ready, and pull out the familly photo albums
  2. Dont say that too loud. There are lots of us who might like to take up turtle fishing in our spare time Specially if they fight like snakeheads.
  3. I agree with most, that if they do make it up here, it will eventually devastate the sport fishing industry in the Great Lakes ecosystem. I also believe its not IF, but WHEN, they make it up here. Sooner or later, someone on the line of defence will screw up, and they will get through the barriers put in place to stop them.Just a matter of time, thats all. IMO Paul

  7. X2 Nipfisher is right. You dont need a machine to tell you where the fish are. You know what type of structure and cover a fish like, you look for that, and you will find fish.Remember, it will only show you what is directly below the boat, not off to the sides.Just because you dont see the fish on the screen, doesnt mean they are not there. And in shallow water, the beam angle will be even narrower. here is a chart to help you calculate the area you are seeing on your screen. http://www.furunousa.com/LearningCenter/Transducer-Beam-Angle-Calculator.aspx

  11. Mike, i have a 587ciHD. I really dont like mine.At the end of the season i plan on sending it in under warranty. Anchored solidly, the gps says i am moving .5-1.5 mph. the depth jumps around so much, i cant tell how deep i am.Lowrance on the bow say 8ft, humminbird on the console says 11.0, them 13.8, then 12.5, then 13.5 etc Bought it brand new in January and i am going to try and get a brand new one. If the new one does the same thing, you want to buy it

  17. I use my baitcaster for crank baits, spinner baits, and heavier lures and jigs. My spinning rod and reel i keep rigged up for soft plastics, tubes etc. It is set up for texas rig fishing.I like the slow retieve of a spinning reel for this type of fishing.
