Thanks Bernie and Art for the tips, i will re-try the powder paint, and hopefully the 2nd times a charm.
-
For the jig makers, how easy do you find working with powder paints, traditionally ive used vinyl paints in the past and airbrushed but the odour is brutal, especially brushing and drying indoors, and my previous lack of success with powder paints took me the vinyl paint route with airbrushing, or is someone using another paint or technique with success, again speed is of importance as i have 1500 rippin heads poured and ready for paint.

My answer to Roys question is somewhat different then the rest, with long line trolling which is common on the Larry, with 150 to 180 feet of 100 pound braid out on a 600 Tecota, you can and will be half or more of the spool empty. The drag if you get a rip will act much differently with half or more of the spool empty then if you had or were using a 800 tecota with the same amount of line out and pound test, should you get a rip, as there is much more line left on the spool of the 800 then the 600, and the drag on the 800 will be more reliable, and smooth, and less jerky on the 800 if a rip occurs.

A fall from grace (the Duck Dynasty)
esoxansteel replied to redpearl99's topic in General Discussion
Im with you on that one R/T, I thought the show looked rediculous until i watched it, family values are very important to the Robertson families, and its damn nice to see now a days, as for Al Linders little scripture piece at the end of each show, again I find that very enjoyable, as its again very short, and Al knws how to grab peoples attention, but not over due it at the same time, I also enjoy Jim Stewarts religous note at the beginning of each catalouge year for Rollie and Helens Musky Shop, almost as much as the tackle inside, and its the first page I look at when it arrives at my door. Im not a religous person as well, but it certainly is heart warming to hear and read something positve -

If you are going to do a tournament do it right, and the emphasis should be on the safe return and well been of the fish, and not how much money one can make by running the event, or winning the event.

esoxansteel replied to Steve's topic in General Discussion
Other then it was caught by a MCI member, i do not see any self-promotion, or promotion of MCI what so ever. -
Wind has been very much a big player on the big waters of late, especially for the musky hunters of GB and the Larry

FMZ 17 cold water fisheries management survey
esoxansteel replied to fishindevil's topic in General Discussion
There is plenty of room on the survey for everyones ideas that are posted on above threads, do the survey and type your concerns, which i just did, if you dont vote dont complain, it will take all of 10 minutes of your life. -
97.7 what a great station, Iron Mike when i was in range, you made me laugh hysterically many times, and always made those long drives seem shorter. RIP The snapper snowblower 4-sale skit was the funniest, where an old lady was selling a snapper snowblower and Iron Mike phoned up and asked if he could come over a take a look at her, you guessed it sna--er, he proceeded to ask her how old it was, and been totally oblivious to the on call radio joke, the lady kept answering all Mikes questions which went on for probably 5 minutes,

TIGER MUSKY and Pike in Kawartha Lakes!! - Pics
esoxansteel replied to Slayingm's topic in General Discussion
Simcoe has been re-introduced with Glouster Pool strain muskies, which already co-exist with Pike, so hopefully there will not be an issue, plus as mentioned the massive size of Simcoe should give both esocids plenty of room to play nicely Thanx Greg for bringing up this worthy topic, as many members have figured out Pike in Balsam can easy be a targeted species, as there numbers have increased. Survey nettings by the MNR on Balsam have confirmed the increase as well, what is probably even more alarming is both the MNR, Muskies Canada, and the OFAH now have documented proof of Pike movements from the southern K Lakes namely Rice Lake and the Otonabee River below lock 19 as Ron stated, MCI always suspected this, but documented proof was lacking until this year, and it was discussed to some length at the last FMZ 17 meeting on October 1 2013. A 50 1/2 inch Balsam hybrid was caught by a MCI member in 2011 -
Just what Chief Blair needed, a little deflection from the bees nest brewing in his own backyard, ie shooting a kid 9 times, and tasering him when hes dead on the ground.

Fantastic workmanship from beginning to end Brady, and to have Speils stamp of approval, life doesnt get any better then that. -
Way to go Mike P, you certainly do make one fine quality bait, that is synonomus with putting big muskies in peoples boats, and many PB's to boot, and to have your baits recognized by a true class act like Gord Pyzer speaks volumes.
