Minnkota Powerdrive V2 with i-pilot not engaging
esoxansteel replied to AKRISONER's topic in General Discussion
Try changing the battery on the I-Pilot?, might sound stupid, but are you hitting the propellor button on the I-Pilot? which would send the signal from the remote to the propellor, also check the owners manual for troubleshooting, although i just checked and most everything related to replacing the remotes battery which is a CR 2450 3V and can be bought at the Source, Future Shop, any Camera Store etc, for about 7 dollars, i would avoid dollar stores where they sell them as well, in case of older stock -
found old reel at yard sale think its 1954 mitchell
esoxansteel replied to skinny's topic in General Discussion
I have a mint Mitchell Cap 304, on my mantel with other old reels, the CAP was similar in appearance to the Luxor of the same era, like the 300 series they were state of the art at that time, and there are a good number of both CAPs and 300s in existence today, and unlike companies who discontinue making parts on reels 5 years after the reels have been discontinued , parts for those reels are still readily available -
Might be touch and go, if they can fix that one in Peterborough, let them know that you bent it back, and the same thing happened, as im sure that will cross there minds as the easiest and simplest approach at fixing the reel foot. Dont recall seeing a press when ive visited, although i had an old 6500 ambassadeur do the same thing, and had the foot welded back on, and never had an issue again, just a little sloppy with the weld and burn marks from heating

Bridgenorth Sports right at the causeway in Bridgenorth, its on your way to Buckhorn, after you get your minnows, head out of Bridgenorth going north, and take the Selwyn Road, right to the Buckhorn road, and turn left, it will take you right to Buckhorn

If its a TE, im looking at mine, and it is separate from the housing, so it should be able to be replaced, providing that part is still available, with the TE been discontinued, the foot is silver, and looks to be press fitted to the brass housing in 2 places

We have a winner, my 5.7 GC with MDS is getting 27 mpg hwy, on a recent trip from Peterborough to the Hammer, and about 16 to 17 in the city, the K@N air filter helps a bit, as well as regular maintenance, i tow a 17 foot deep V aluminum, i have heard of poor milage, but have also heard of owners getting really good milage from the 5.7, and ive also wondered with the smaller gas tank, and the more frequent fill ups, they feel the milage is not there, but whether they have ever done the math to accurately find out.

The fire is always there, but doing the same things all the time, dampens the fire, you have to re-invent yourself, ie fishing new waters, new techniques, fish new species etc, to keep the fire stoked,

Honey Harbour for Island Camping and Bass fishing
esoxansteel replied to Paul A's topic in General Discussion
Check Stoney Lake large lake with island camping on the south side towards clear lake, lots of bass both species, eyes and muskies, and many many islands to duck out of the wind, watch the shoals -
Regardless of Nips size, i dont think there should be any commercial fishing on inland lakes, and also stringent monitoring on the great lakes as well, to make sure netters are within there quotas, the numbers of small fish you caught indicates at least 2 strong year classes, so the adults at one time were there to produce those numbers of under sized slot fish, you assumption off nets harvesting the larger fish, certainly fits within the puzzle.

Nice report Chris, i noticed the old green Bantam Curado in the forth slide, one of the most dependable low profiles ever made, definately a reel you can take away on a fly in with confidence

Small lake, lake trout suggestions please
esoxansteel replied to Dave Bailey's topic in General Discussion
Exactly, on Silent Lake, 40 to 60 feet is common, and even shallower in the evenings, with the cooler nights preceding this weekend and the water temps those depts should be pretty close, along with bells sinkers, bottom bouncers in the same weights should have you scraping the sand -
