  4. 1/2 ounce Black Jitterbug at night, priceless like American Express don't leave home without it
  5. On Rice a 20 inch smallie is easily pushing 4 or better, and 21inch is pushing 5 and a 22 or over is easily 6 or better, and those weights are summer fish, gobies definitely helping in that respect, big smallies are almost square from the throat back. And almost always smallies are needing to win a tournament on Rice now a days, which wasn't always the case pre Zebra Mussels. Ive caught smallies in other K Lakes but were slightly less weight then the numbers and lengths in Rice
  6. Beautiful
  7. Wild Rice is not an invasive specie, it was here many years ago, and provided Indiginous people with a healthy food, Wild Rice likely seen its demise with the flooding of the lands (Native Lands) when the Trent System was built. What James is essentially doing is bringing back a Native species, to both again feed his people. Which is the same as the MNR re-introducing Atlantics, and Lake Trout to Lake Ontario, and muskies to Lake Simcoe, which again use to populate both Lakes in numbers. Re-introducing Native species is nothing new, Rice Lake is called Rice Lake for one reason only. When species used to populate an area, and become non-existent, in the area they used to populate, it is 100% because of the white mans interference through globalization. There was No endangered species, or invasive species when Natives were the caretakers of the lands period.
  8. Would she settle for a sweet blue St Croix LT
  9. Shield Lakes can sometimes have lower densities of muskies population but more then make up for it in size, especially when oily forage are present, there are exceptions to this and some of the northern K Lakes ie Stony and Lovesick are 2 examples. It would appear you have your heart set on catching one casting, which is fine, but mixing in a little trolling to give your arms a rest, and a chance to rethink strategies is never a bad option, plus it gives you time to eat and rehydrate as well. the best times are when ever you have a chance to get out, as most do not have the ability with commitments to fish on true musky days, ie overcast, choppy days with a front moving in and a falling barometer, as a general rule I cast during low lite periods ie morning and evenings as fish tend to position shallower, as baitfish move shallower. In large bodies of water, for roamers or suspended fish which usually are the true giants of the system trolling is by far the best way, and most logical way to put your bait in front of more fish, in hope of triggering a strike. mix it up with both baits and techniques until you find a pattern that works, the largest and biggest muskies will be on the best available structure within the system whether its a reef, hump point etc and usually deeper water will almost always be very close by.

  14. Treats others the way they treat you, either with a suite and tie, and you talk calmly to difuse the situation, or with the flannel lumber jack coat, and baggy jeans, and there hat turned backwards, then you lay right into them, if that doesnt work jump into there boat and clean house,

  19. Todd Leopardi aka LEO LURES make similar lures, not sure if he makes a 10 inch, but ive used 6 and 8 inch models and they work well and great paint jobs, tried to make my own but the ridge lines on the side have to be in line with each other and the same depth and length or they wont work, one of the tougher glide baits to make and work properly IMO
  20. I hope those wasps go to sleep for you Lew, and you can do the manly deed, not like the birds who seem to be chirpin all night, and don't seem to want to sleep for some reason, do you think those pesky muskies might be getting back at you for stinging them all these years
