  1. I have left a few jigs in muskies jibs as well, getting sawed off on 20 pound PP as im sure you have as well Shane
  2. Largemouth love bucktail jigs, and so do smallies with a smaller profile jig, with squirrel tail instead of bucktail, with a few strands of flashaboo, and some hackle.
  3. Something like that, you forgot the part where the steelhead run is in full peak, with fish on redds, and then the town has the float your fanny down the ganny to honour a flood that was 35 years ago, which was not the first big flood they have experienced by the way, and the fact that its illegal to disrupt fish during their spawning migration (according to the MNR and the regulations) this is the same town council that tried to get a roe ban on one river (The Ganny)
  4. Congradulations Chris the cursing in Ojibway i can help you with, the others you are on your own
  5. Bottom bouncers, with heavy weight, or if you need heavier then what you can by i no of a guy who made his own out of coat hangers, and always pounded walleyes in deep water 35 feet plus in very heavy current, when everyone else scrubbed, he is in the same general area you talking about, and he had numbe 13 Rapalas attached to the hanger
  6. They might have do dynamite the ice wall between the piers to give the ice and flow somewhere to go, or theyll be in trouble as the water rises
  7. Im still waiting to see a picture of Diane BBQ ing those T Bones in a snow storm Lew
  8. My wife wasnt complaining at all, and some might have actually missed the humour i was trying to point out, if she complained about the tackle i buy or the fishing i do, we wouldnt have spent 24 years together, she just noticed the new tags, and plastic wrap on the cork, and decided to make a make a comment with some humorous sarcasm
  9. another day in the fridge the hair would start to form
  10. OMG you have Diane trained well Lew
  11. As many of us have lots of gear, rods reels and tackle etc, I have always done the usual and pile all the 30 plus rods in a corner, and my wife doesnt know whether i have 30, 40 or sold some and have 20 etc, and she really doesnt care as i buy and sell often, but in a hurry one day to make an MCI meeting i mistakingly left the labels and tags on a brand new Musky Innovations Bull Dog Rod, when i got home after this particular meeting my wife asked me if i won anything off the monthly raffle, which i replied no not this time, she says with a bit of womanly sarcasm thats OK i see you bought a new rod anyway, the blue blank and labels were a dead give a way, plus the wraps on the cork. Im sure many others have a similar story
  12. He will be looking over his shoulders now, as many know his name, and who he looks like after his interview with the local press, the 1000.00 is fine, and the 2 year fishing ban as well, at least the courts are starting to value our natural resources for a change, and make the efforts of our CO's worth while
  13. Authentic Itialian Pizza served by someone with a very strong East Itialian accent hold the toe jam
  14. Thanks for the journey, Bunk awesome read, glued to the screen the hole time
  15. East hill does have fishing stuff, i thought they looked like huts in the 2nd Marsh Bay just east of the GM office, but im not so sure now, they looked like clumps of hay or straw on the 2nd look, didnt want to stop the truck on the 401 to pull the Binocks for a closer look, thats just asking for trouble, never seen anyone outside if they are in fact huts, might be monitoring something ie water, and using hay or straw to insulate to keep holes from freezing.
  16. Thinner hair allows more hair movement, and pulsing when jiggin, or with any movement ie wind induced current etc, as its not all bulked up, it will also allow for a quicker penetration into the weeds, on the fall, as theres less resistance with less hair, which can be a benefit, or not depending if you want a slower fall, or a faster fall, i tie both for active fish i want a fast fall, and for neutral or inactive fish a slower fall my 2 cents for what its worth
  17. Mike P's (HandleBarz) are certainly popular, and very effective within the muskies range, but from MCI members who fish LOTW, they are even more effective within that body of water, they are tough as nails, and start up is fantastic, and you dont waste half the cast waiting for the blades to start turning, always figure eight on LOTW as on average 7 of 10 fish come on it
  18. Your right Shane, we have only had one month of real winter, which is Feb
  19. Thats what i did Pete, it just replaces your level wind, and is much more fun IMO, of you are downrigging use your existing rigger rod.
  20. Had to adjust somewhat, for the first time i added a stinger hook on the back of my bucktails for walleyes, and 70% of my walleyes were on the stinger in May, Pond weed was slow to develop, but was still present in July so it hung on later
  21. I would love to make a comment on that one, but this is an environmentally friendly forum
  22. melt the cheese next time, looks yummy for the tummy
  23. a lure retrieve whether its store bough or home made would have saved 90 % of those lures, and i would have stayed all day to get Rolf's 2 Wishmasters back
  24. Hopefully the bracket on the TV is better then the one on your computer, would hate to see that big TV tumble,
