You got it. It sucks but could be worse. Nothing I can do now but work with it

That was quite the wind storm yesterday. I've been meaning to cut the only two trees that could fall on things for two years, but kept procrastinating. Lesson learned...another. They are both gone now.
-
Actually I removed comprehensive coverage earlier this year. I may be able to get the car back on the road, it all depends if the A-pillar is too far bent and if a windshield can still fit. Either way I e got some work and spendatures ahead of me. I'll post some pics next time I'm at the computer

I lost my car to an 80 foot spruce tree today. At least my house and truck were spared by 6" each

If you like Rickards Red, try Lake of Bays Sparkhouse. It's something else!
-
A red Pilsner? Don't think I've seen any here. Goose island brewery has a "honkers ale" which may be in the ballpark.
-
I don't think they are overly difficult to grow, but they like to grow vertically (like vines), so I would need the infrastructure.

I just ordered this card last week. I don't use my CC too much, so I may cancel after 1st year if the recovery rate doesn't justify the annual fee. I like airmiles, because I've gotten good at collecting with the bonus structure and I like use Shell gas. Best of all, I redeem all my 'miles' for investment vouchers, which I then turn into RSP's! $800 in retirement funds over the last 4 years

I intent to grow some hops in the next few years and see if I can supply a local brewer. Maybe I'll get into home brewing at that time. Muskoka Detour is pretty good, not a bad beer to model your own against.

I already quit my job to pursue this idea! Haha This was more of a sarcastic/venting post. I can't count how many people have asked if an item is available, then I say yes, and then there are no further responses.
-
A website dedicated to the availability of items posted on kijiji. For those who don't really want the product or necessarily have any money to their name, but would still like to know anonymously if products are still for sale. Now you can follow an item, without having the annoying responses from the seller asking 'are you still interested'? I may add a second section dedicated to the 'lowest price i'll accept', for those have very little to do during the day, but have a burning desire to know what someone's base price is. What do you guys think??? Big money in my future?

No passport for me, so no worries about border crossing haha Good on you for handling it well Mike, not sure I'd stay cool for that long. Maybe put a password on your phone next time? They can't force you to give out a password can they??

LCBO can go ahead and sell it, as long as they don't have exclusive rights to it...which they never will when they are selling something that can be grown beside your tomatoes. I like the LCBO, it's clean, supports craft breweries and has good selection (other than 24's). To be honest, I trust the LCBO way more than any convenience store. In Quebec, the selection sucks. Molson and Labatts is all you can get at most corner stores.

6" of ice is not in my forecast any time soon!

I wish there were more reports like this! You guys certainly had a busy day. Usually one back lake per day is enough for me.

I heard the one in North Bay just sold as well.

Finally - My Magazine Is Launched!! (And A Question)
Rod Caster replied to solopaddler's topic in General Discussion
My sincerest best wishes in your newest endeavor! I'll be honest, I don't buy magazines or subscriptions, I don't pay for TV and my internet is as cheap (and slow) as it gets (chris brock anyone?)... so, I'm not really your best demographic. I would, however; assume there is a very viable market for what appears to be a magazine dripping with quality and sincerity (as is reflected in what you post on OFC). Good things rise to the top, even if you have a slow start, you'll likely prosper with tenacity and smart marketing. Good luck Solopaddler!! ... that made me think of a 'column' idea: "The Solopaddler stories", short reminiscent pieces on the last page, detailing funny, odd or unique things that happened to you in the past. -
A $25 plaid jacket that isn't torn to shreds, permanently stinky or stained with rabbit blood. The new one will be my spare in case #1 catches fire
