Blow dryer the spot till it's hot hit it with an a can of compressed air upside down. Having the can upside down is the important thing. I have seen it work amazingly well and others not so much depends on size and location of dent. I'm not an auto body guy but if it works it would have only cost you about 10 bucks for the air which you can pick up at staples etc.

Just want to make clear that I have never used them as bait, just simply stating that they would be good bait as I'm sure fish don't mind eating them.
-
cool video. I love salamanders I used to catch em and keep em as pets. I loved all the different colours I could find them in. good bait for sure.

Thank you SouthPaw, that really helps I just wanted to know what area of the lake we would be fishing out of, as its quite a large body of water. My uncle who by no means is a serious angler has been going there for the past 6 years, and has always got his daily limit of eater size walleye for the evening frying pan. I'm happy to go walleye fishing but what I'm really excited about is the apparent under estimated smallmouth fishery there as well as trying to find some back lakes or streams for some brookies. I watched one video on you tube, I believe it was the new fly fisher where they hiked into a small back late and a couple 6-7lbs brookies were landed from shore. As southpaw stated the cabins are rustic, but my uncle states that the owner is very nice and I believe its about $600.00 for a cabin for a week and that sleeps at least 5 guys, so its quite reasonable. Does anyone know of any guides in the area, whom I could pay for a days service locating some of these brookie spots? I Was thinking about contacting Red Pine, Ellen Island, or Garden Island to see if they would have one available even though I'm not staying at that particular lodge, but I'm not sure if that's something they would do. Thanks again guys !

Hello All, Well for years my Uncle has been trying to get me out on his annual fishing trip to Lady Ev. He goes in mid-late September and stays at Mitchells camp. So I have done a little research but am unable to find the location of the camp they don't have a website , short of calling I thought I would ask the board if they knows its approximate location, I know its a little hike from mowats landing. Is it close to red pine lodge or garden island? Looking to get into some smallies and search for any brookies in local streams or lakes. If anybody has any helpful info that they would be kind enough to share, feel free to PM me, and of course mums the word. Thanks

Just to let you know, I was into the MNR building in Peterborough on Saturday to re-new my license tags. Asked the girl if she had regs booklets she had boxes on the floor of both hunting and fishing regs. So if you just take more of an effort to find them, more so then just travelling to your local CT there out there to be had. If people want to make sure they are being responsible anglers then they should do whatever means it requires to do so, I know I do, ( but then again I greatly respect this resource) whether that's hunting around for a regs book or looking it up online etc. Doing otherwise opens you up to being fined, sad thing is a lot of people know the rules and still choose to blatantly break them. I know that my zone has maybe 1-2 changes per year and I'm capable enough to locate it over the intra-net, but I like the regs book for bathroom reading material and have never had a problem locating one. If anyone is desperate for a regs booklet let me know, I can pick one up for ya !

In all honesty if its your first couple of tournaments being prepared and confident in the presentations is important, choose lures and bait selections in which you have had success and therefore confidence in. In my first tournament I followed a couple simple rules. Have fun, and enjoy the day. Lower expectations on final results, I looked at it as though there are many boats in the field who make a living at fishing tournaments and have so for years. Drink it all up and absorb as much information as you can, its a learning experience for sure, go to the weigh-ins, and talk to some people, there are a few friendly guys out there lol, Lastly, have a plan and just go fish! I took this outlook in to my first tournament and ended up placing second. I was expecting to come last and to struggle putting multiple quality fish in the live well, it ended up being one of the best bass days I've had in along time. Its a cool feeling heading into weigh in with a bunch of people around when you have a really good bag!

I have also spent time at chaudiere lodge a few years back. I think it was one of the first seasons that Steve owned it. Can't say enough good things. Service second to none. And Steve a super nice guy.

Its amazing to be in a town like Peterborough that is surrounded by the Kawartha Lakes and some pretty decent hunting that we do not have a dedicated fishing/ hunting store. I know there have been a couple stores to giver a go a few years ago but it seemed as though they couldn't make it sustainable. If I want to go have some tackle chat I head out to Bridgenorth tackle and talk with Frank. I give him my business because I like to support local businesses, but its a real head scratcher than we cant support at least one decent fishing store in town. I'm sick of crappie tire for fishing stuff.

Lew, If you can make it into curve lake, I have never found it to be anything less than a 10 cent/L savings. It may be worth it. I Live in Keene and even though Hiawatha is not as great as curve lake its still about an average of 7 cents/L cheaper than the closest station in town.

We would go to Georgian bay fishing camp for ice out pike, its a beautiful place (not Georgian bay fishing camp), but its easy to get lost. We always cruised around with one guy on the bow with a good set of polarized glasses. I've been twice and was lucky both times finding some huge gators. Weather can blow in pretty quickly there as well. The only thing I will say is the fishing can be ridiculous, the hard part is finding them in such a vast area with tons of good looking structure.

Last night I loaded up and dropped about 100 sandbags at buddy of mines place on lower chemong. The water is on his front lawn and won't be long until it's right at his house. Pretty scary stuff.

Put out 150 sandbags at a buddy of mines place last night it's creeping up to his house pretty quickly. Man my shoulders are sore today.

My grandfather who is now pushing 90 years of age, says " the fishing ain't what it used to be". Then breaks out the album and there's 50 lakers or walleye on a long wooden stringer. I say back to him "I wonder why.?" Did you really need to keep all those fish? I just see these pictures from the 40's, 50's and 60's and its crazy to me, to see the limits of fish these guys were taking home. -
Tuesday Funny - Homemade Fireworks - Completely NF

I Love the part where he says he was working on some fireworks for Halloween? LOL. Or even better when he says he put down this protective layer, which I'm pretty sure is a plastic tablecloth. classic! -
PS. It used to be, when I wanted to go fishing, I went fishing, Now when I want to go fishing I have to save up for a week and a half before hand to afford the gas prices .!
-
I Always try to make and effort to drive into Hiawatha or Curve Lake. There I can find it anywhere from 3-11 cents per litre cheaper. I know ultimately it may only save me a few bucks on a fill, but when I'm heading to Buckhorn I always stop by curve lake and get a fill for the boat I can get high test at the same price as regular gas anywhere else. There are lots of things that really " grind my gears" about how we as nation conduct business. I love my country unconditionally but there are areas where we as tax paying citizens are getting the shorter end of the stick and it really gets me going. We live in such a resource enriched country, it would be nice to see us become a little more self sustaining providing Canadians with affordable solutions to various things and then after that, have our surplus shipped out of country. Sadly I know this is a pipe dream and will never happen, but I just cant help feel like I'm getting ripped off on certain things.

Thanks Bushart for your insight, Im just removing it. So I don't want any liability if someone bought it off me. I would rather throw it out then get someone hurt of course. If it didn't appear to be in decent shape I would just toss it, I just thought maybe if someone had a bush or hunting camp maybe it would be of some value to someone. When I get it taken down I will take it in to a place and get there input .Any idea of how one can minimize or shrink the size of the picture ? thanks

I Was not able to find the "tag". Every time I Try to upload a pic it says the file is too large, despite it being taken with my iphone diameter would have to be like 10- 12 inches. Just trying to figure out how to post a pic here. Is there generally a specific location for the tag ie. at the bottom where it enters the house or perhaps at the top of the chimney. I couldn't find any tags going up the 3 ft sections .

The wife showed me that video a couple weeks ago. Great video. Man I love it when he says 3 and the dog gets his ball. I also love when the owner says "don't look at it"! lol

after doing some research online I would have to say I'm 95% sure its a insulated stainless chimney, and guessing I would say its in pretty decent shape. This is going sound brutal but what do I click on to add a photo, I am computer " slow". I will take a pic and hopefully the wife can show me how to upload a picture on here as she did that for my avatar. LOL

Hello all, I have recently purchased a new home about 3 months ago, and I'm going to be replacing the siding, trough, soffit, and fascia. I will get to the point, the house has what I believe to be a stainless chimney that was originally for an oil furnace. The house now has a natural gas furnace and with replacing the siding and such I'm going to be taking the stack down since its not needed. The stack is in great shape not a spot of rust or anything, Im just curious is to if it could be used for other types of heating or if its worth anything to anyone ( I know a lot of people don't heat there houses to much with oil anymore). I am by no means an expert heck it may not have even been for a an oil furnace , im just speculating as there is no evidence that there was ever a fire place where it enters the house as it is the laundry room where the furnace etc is located. if anyone has any input that would be great its about a 13-14 ft stack .

Never once after about 6 trips in there have I ever received anything but outstanding service! 4 rods replaced in 2 weeks or less each time, not costing a dime, and 2 reel repairs which totalled 5 dollars one time and the expense was covered by them on the 2nd reel repair. I have never had to speak with the president, but I'm sure not everyone has positive things to say about any company. But I have never been anything less than impressed, maybe its cause I live in town, but it also maybe that I'm cordial with them and people are willing to go above and beyond when your nice. I have learned being in business for myself that people will go above and beyond for you if your friendly (including myself).
