  1. So I have a bunch of tents ranging from a 2 man up to a chalet style. For various types of camping. Every year the wife and I go camping for a week, its not a drive in site, I gotta hump our gear in about 500 yds I think the tent weighs maybe 25 pounds but I takes us less than 25 min to set up and its so spacious that I can put a double queen air mattress at one end and have approx. 2 1/2 feet on either side and then at least another 5-6 feet at the end. Tons of room. It comes with an indoor LED light and fan which are a nice little touch. We always tarp off our tent off, but we were in some torrential down pours this summer, to the point of having 6 inches of standing water around it and it held up just fine. Had to order it over the phone through BPS cause they don't carry them in Canada, but its high ceilings mean I never have to bend over when walking around in the tent it must have close to a 7 ft ceiling. I have a couple Eurekas they are great but this is a great family cabin tent. Oh the tent is called the coleman prairie breeze
  2. to be honest with you, he always creeped me out ! But perhaps that's how good of an actor he was. Its too bad.
  3. I was quoted 20 dollars over the phone with there office in Washington for a 3000 Stradic approx 3 years old. Turn around time is based on how many reels they got on the go, but to be honest as long as its not a long long time I don't mind I'm not using them in the hard water months anyways. I'm sure you might get a variety of responses as to how often you have them cleaned. I'm a little OCD probably but I have my reels serviced every winter and my ice reels done in the summer. But I do fish a fair bit and my reels take a little bit if a beating exposed to the elements , rain etc. But if you don't fish much and your " gentle" with it maybe you don't have to as often.
  4. I have never once had my receipt or the warranty paperwork when having something fixed. Some times the ask you where you bought it and when that's it.
  5. sorry proper number is 1-866-491-5229 that's the customer service number
  6. Chris I would do 1 of two things. Mail it in to Peterborough and explain in a letter what the issue is. And they will fix it! you could mail it to me and I could go in for ya and see if they can fix it. Phone number is 705-745-3232.
  7. And no I do not work for, or sponsored by shimano !
  8. So I know I've posted a couple times on shimano's customer service, so sorry if this is getting redundant, but I thought I would share. So this summer I had a 7'11 crucial that's guide broke off, not too mention its three years old and takes quite a beating. Im sure I had a small knot in my braid and that's what caused the break. So obviously living in Peterborough makes it a little more convenient that I can just drive down and drop it off. So I drive down to the warehouse, tell the guy what happened, fills out some paperwork, and after shooting the breeze for 5 mins I was in and out in 10 mins. 9 days later tube arrives at my house (no charge), and I ask myself " did they just fix the guide, or send me a new one". Opened it up and sure enough brand new crucial tags and all. I have many shimano products, tons of rods and this is the 4th time I have had to send a 3 plus year old rod back, mainly cause im hard on them, but every time they have sent me a new rod back and in respectable timing, 9 days on this one ! So I am just so pleased with the service I have always received, that's why I buy shimano , and don't mind paying a couple hundred bucks for a rod or reel, cause they stand behind their product ! anyways just thought I would share, and give a big shout out to the guys in the repair centre !
  9. I keep a book with similar details but would love to have a database like that to log my info into. Great Idea !
  10. Thanks so much guys ! I'm going to call all three of them, and let them know where I heard about them from !
  11. Hey guys. I know that there are a ton of hut rental businesses on simcoe and I have done a ton of searching on the internet and come across a lot that look good. I wanted to ask the community if you had any recommendations or positive experiences that you could pass along my way. So this is what I'm looking for a hut for four guys but wouldn't mind a larger one for some extra room. We would like to have a hut which you could sleep in overnight. And we would like to be on laker water so to speak not really interested in perch or herring I would prefer whities and lakers. I know this is gunna probably rub some guys the wrong way asking this question probably thinking I'm lazy but truth is I value this boards opinion and if they have any recommendations. I would be stupid not to listen. So be gentle. Not looking for spots or secret lures, just if you could give any advice on rentals . I don't know if there are rentals that aren't located in a town of ice huts or not but would love it if it wasn't. Pretty flexible on price. Thanks guys ! Just looking for a good time and hopefully a chance at some fish.
  12. I have to get my mail from a box, In a general store ! hope your around when the store is open sometimes im not able to get my mail for a week, with leaving early for work and not returning till the later evening. I would love to have an outdoor superbox.
  13. Whenever I am around Buckhorn or Keene area I will drop into Curve Lake or Hiawatha first nations. If its $1.25/L in Peterborough, its $1.15/L out there. And its the first place I've ever seen that if your a smoker and want to buy cigarettes, they have a drive through window dedicated to the sale of cigarettes. It is always about 10 cents a L cheaper out there.
  14. http://vod.io/N6Qc5/ It was pretty entertaining!
  15. how are the lenses on the headlights ? sometimes they need to be buffed out, or I know there is a solution out there that can take that film off, which helped me out significantly. however my vehicle is older.
  16. I Said to myself driving home last night " Lew said it $1.16/ Litre" and it was a $1.26/ Litre. Its amazing how gas prices fluctuate up here. I just thought it was too funny.
  17. You think you can live like a king in Peterborough for 36 thousand dollars and change! Come on, man ! I struggle to make ends meet on that wage. And I do not live in a castle. Sometimes its better to measure twice and cut once if you get my drift.
  18. Some of you guys may enjoy this story. I sure did !
  19. I am also an owner of a PS3 and will be picking up a PS4 as soon as they restock. I have no complaints when it comes to the PS3 I use it for watching blu ray movies searching the internet, streaming Netflix and playing with my buddies on line. If its about playing online with your son then you will have to get an xbox so they are compatible, some guys are xbox fans and some are playstation fans. Both I believe are great products.
  20. Oh No! I think I just found out that I have a "bleeding Heart"
  21. It is a day that I am truly proud to call myself Canadian, and how lucky I am to live in such a great nation. To my family, and all members of the armed forces for your service and ultimate sacrifice. THANK YOU ! Lest We Forget. Please take a moment at 11 am, to pay your respects!
