  1. The leafs have definitely laid a couple of eggs. For a while some people actually thought they could be competitive with the current line up. Yeah right.! Trades are needed including Schen. Love to see them send connelly to the minors and bring up somebody with some drive. Phaneuf has no balance. He's always falling. Interesting to watch harknell get in his head.
  2. I love ice fishing for whities and lakers but the steelhead more than fill the void! Nice pictures for any camera. Dan O.
  3. Don't forget Ont Hydro charges a flat rate of around $500 for a cottage regardless of how much power is used. If they keep raising that flat rate, off the grid systems are going to become cost effective. Dan O.
  4. That hit me funny, sorry!! Dan O.
  5. Great minds think alike Bil. I did the same thing yesterday. Awesome success for any time of year! I never seem to remember to take pics. Dan O.
  6. DEfinitley a confused bear. Nice to see he'll recover. I'll harvest an animal in a blink but hate to see them perish. Weird I guess. I've seen skunks and coon tracks in the bush I scout. Dan O.
  7. Well when they hit the ground they'll be landing on the Coach and the GM. Not too much "Nah Nah Hey Hey" in habs land these days! Dan O.
  8. It is already! It's just getting hard to find the silence anymore so I've become accustomed to the constant NOISE. Dan O.
  9. You really have to go deep into the bush and over a few long portages to ENSURE peace and quiet. If you can reach it by boat or atv good luck!! Its weird when there's No noise. Unsettling at first. dan o.
  10. A little better fight than perch i bet. How deep?
  11. At least they ship USPS unlike Bass Pro! No "brokerage" fee on their shipping! Dan O.
  12. If you're coming up highway 17 from Ottawa just west of Deep River in alittle town called Rolphton. Hit up the Rolphton Motel for great homemade pizza. They're also the start of the snowmobile trails for the Upper Ottawa Valley. Dan O.
  13. Mike you shouldn't need to remind the guy. He knows he owes you money. He is using you. Dont take him fishing and force him to look for a job. He's avoiding reality by going fishing.
  14. Thanks to all your hard work the saugeen was awesome this fall. Just curious, i assume its an adipose clip? Dan o.
  15. I found the bottom walkers with the long wire much better at keeping me out of the wood. I lost too many lindy rigs trying to get a feel for the bottom. Dan O.
  16. Can you use frozen minnows in Quebec? Dan O.
  17. I hope Tim declared all of his income last year! I smell an audit coming on!! Dan O.
  18. My mistake it's $5.50 per person to ice fish. They do have some minnows at $7.00 a dozen but they're inside the quarantine area so it's hard to find a supplier. Anglers can bring their own though! (Does that make any sense to you?) One another note please pay to fish. It helps cover the staffing costs and snowplowing. Dan O.
  19. Sorry can't help you Luc, except to say Belwood Lake is open if you need to fish a local lake. I'm sure it won't be as good as Puslinch. Dan O.
  20. Yup and the coach coaches the penalty kill. It's just basic principles and guys willing to sacrifice. The players' skill level makes the powerplay work. So Wilson can be blames for the poor PK and the players get the credit for the PP. Time to show Wilson the door! He doesn't hold guys accountable. I see Tim Connolly hit the ice even though he's playing like it's a non-contact league. Kessel is embarassing when the hitting starts. He's looking for a hole under the boards...... if they ever make the playoffs Kessel will be non-existent. Totorella would strangle some of these guys! Dan O.
  21. We used to catch whitefish in the harbours at Meaford and Owen Sound. I know Owen Sound is open but I wonder if Meaford is fishable. Collingwood??? Dan O.
  22. That's weird Bill because this summer my most productive harness (I'm knew to this) was a cheap Can Tire harness. It had little tiny hooks about #10's in a steelhead hook. They seemed to catch walleye well. Dan O.
  23. I like the idea of a lighter leader. Never thought of that and so I lose everything in this wood on the bottom of the Ottawa. Dan O.
  24. Just a heads up for the guys in the Guelph/Fergus area. Belwood plans to open on Saturday for ice fishing. Parking was $6.00 last year. They usually have minnows for sale but they're not sure yet. Any questions here's their number - 519 843 2979 It's a tough lake to fish through the ice. Perch, pike, and the odd walleye. Dan O.
  25. Good thread. I started making them last year so I'm totally new to this. I fish a flooded reservoir with lots of wood on the bottom so I got tired breaking off expensive harnesses and started making my own. Not sure it's alot cheaper, honestly. Troll with a 2 oz. bottom bouncer. 15lb seagar fluoro line. Colorado spinner blade #4. Used tandem hooks but too many hang-ups. Single hooks only this year. Worms most of the time. Red hooks if the bottom is clean. Cheap long shank mustangs if woody. (They often bend and you get off the structure) Best blade seemed to be a yellow colorado #4 with a green diagonal stripe. Dan O.
