  1. I would sit connolly. He's embarassingly soft and i can t figure out his icetime. Too many leafs don't like to get dirty. Anybody could see they needed to get to anderson the other night but nobody wants to go to the net. Ottawa knew how to get to Riemer. It.s a style of hockey good enough for detroit, the rangers etc.
  2. Thanks for the update.hopefully the threat of closure cleans things up.
  3. Except you have many more lake in the Sault. We wouldn't have 5 lakes in the whole area! And this lake would be called a Beaver Pond in the North LOL! Dan O.
  4. That's really frustrating. I guess the cottagers have had enough. I 'd blame puslinch township for failing to provide a public access. This sounds like the same problem as simcoe, on a small scale.
  5. And they wonder why nobody chooses a career in retail. Poor pay and zero job security. I always laugh when i hear store managers complain about tthe quality of the employees they get. You pay crap wages and you treat employees poorly.
  6. Thanks guys for the input. After the Clam chair did a number on my back it's been sore for years and now all kinds of situations irritate it. Can you put a folding camp chair partially into the sled. I'm wondering if the two back legs will punch through the bottom of the sled? Dan O.
  7. I'm going to use a folding chair as well Not sure what you're sell crappie?
  8. I've developed a really sore back (physio required) and I think it's from my Clam chair. I noticed it right after sitting in the hut over a whole winter. Anyone else developed a chronic sore back from the old style chairs? Are the newer chairs any better? Dan O.
  9. And they wonder why the First Nations don't want to RELOCATE! Think your pics said it all! Dan O.
  10. OFAH is only as strong as it's membership. I think they have the attention of both provincial and federal governments. They do a good job with very few employees. Dan O.
  11. Need the 535 on your arms after that day! It's all in the timing just like many things in life! Dan O.
  12. I live on the Grand River (Fergus) and they do reproduce in our area. It's not great reproduction in the main river so they stock yearly but they do reproduce well on the tribs of the Grand. I think there's a lake in the Mattawa area that receives a stocking of browns and I now parts of the Madawaska river (Barry's Bay area) had browns stocked. Dan O.
  13. What about mouse seed? If they don't show up it's easy to remove in the spring and if they do, well there dead in no time. Won't help though if it's shrews or voles that move in. Dan O.
  14. It's hard to believe we're in the same country with that report! It comes early and stays late for you guys, eh! Dan O.
  15. Yeah they finally figured that out! Now they suspend you "into school" which is a room where you do school work without any friends or nintendo. Only out of school suspensions are for violent or defiant behaviour stuff. Dan O.
  16. I support and use GasBuddies.com in order to avoid paying anymore than I have to. If we all try to get the best deals I think the competition between gas stations may result in lower prices. Iknow I'm dreaming Dan O>
  17. I fish the upper Ottawa river and I haven't been doing very well either. The slot size means alot of fish go back before June 15th. I wonder if the Quebec side of the Ottawa river has a slot size? Dan O.
  18. The problem with your rant is the lack of solutions. It's fine to disagree with the status quo but you need to come up with alternatives. Opting out is the easiest, laziest thing to do. It's often the kids who can't exercise any self-discipline who say school is stupid. It's not the REAL world and to suceed is to conform. I'd say get an education so you know something, then start to change the system from within. If you think voting is conforming then run for politics and make a difference. If you think cops make you conform then get an education and become a cop to see if you can expidite change in the youth. Your approach involves no risk and no effort. It's all bull right! Opting out is the easy thing to do. Dan O.
  19. I'd say go back to Ottawa! Dan O. PS. I grew up in the West End of the Valley and we had more laws than you do in Ottawa???? Go figure?
  20. Great read! Expect the unexpected in Algonquin! I worked in the park for the MNR for 4 years. I saw lots of unprepared people who were luck to make it. Good job of preparing! Dan O.
  21. Yup a year sounds about right. Try not to get discouraged with the flare ups it takes time for the tissue to settle down. Slow and easy wins the race! Yeah I know easy for the guy with the good knees to say eh! Dan O.
  22. I use it on a very woody bottom in the Ottawa River. I try to keep it vertical to avoid snags. Kind of why I use the technique in the first place. Dan O.
  23. A friend went through knee replacement. Wouldn't lose the weight he needed to and then promptly got addicted to pain-killers. Sad story all around. Sounds like you've done much better. Is physio available for you? Dan O.
  24. That's a long tough path but you're here now so Congratulations! My mom was an alcoholic and she didn't make it! Died at 53. You're an inspiration to alot of people I'm sure. Dan O.
