  1. I don't really wanna be a downer here but... Based on the descriptions including the fresh rebuild, it almost seems like it would be someone who knew the motor was A1 in spite of it's appearance. By that I mean it doesn't make sense that it was just happened upon, sounds more like it was targeted. I sincerely hope it's return is soon! Michael
  2. Beans 'n beer - that'll do it every time! (think "natural gas" if'n ya didn't get it) Seriously though, I do hope it was unoccupied when said bear dropped by! What a mess! Michael
  3. Got me too! I kept wondering about the two guys and 12 hrs , 16 walleye - wasn't adding up somehow - glad you noticed it so I could go back and (with glasses on) see it too - great job on both the catch and blending the photos! Gotta love all that! Michael
  4. I did mine by mail as I recall. The license bureau steered me where to go and had the forms. Got all that when I registered & plated the trailer. Then a year later I got a letter wanting proof I paid tax on the boat or that I could now pay tax on the boat or they'd assess it. Still waiting for the assessment. Michael
  5. Got home around 3:00 yesterday afternoon and shortly after there was a very loud and repeated racket caused by aircraft on Lake St. John. Looking out I was soon able to count 3 pontoon style and 1 airboat style bright yellow planes repeatedly taking off and landing, not getting much altitude. I ran the registration on two of them (internet CAN be informative) and found they were MNR waterbombers. Because the cycle time of take off and land was so short I figured it was just an exercise. After listening for 4 hours and seeing this fascinating event continue, I email my buddy in the MNR to ask what might be happening. Shortly after I sent this email, the following showed up: http://www.orilliapacket.com/2016/06/20/wind-heat-fuel-brush-fire-in-ramara-township Hope there were no injuries or losses! Michael
  6. Take out all the screws holding stuff to the floor, remove what you can without disturbing the rivets holding to the sides (hull), rip out the carpet to expose the floor. Once you can see it you can better plan your approach. You'll probably find more fasteners such as large aluminum pop rivets holding the plywood in, drill those out. You may have to actually cut the old floor into pieces to remove it (small circular saw set to thickness of plywood is a big help). Most of the items riveted to the sides can usually be lifted up just enough to allow removal and replacement ( a buddy or two to help would be highly recommended). You may have to piece the new floor in as well. It's a lot of work, I've done it three times, but I enjoy doing stuff like that and have done it solo all 3 times. Take your time and remind yourself to do the best job possible. It's not a quick job, and it's also the time to make any improvements you've dreamed about. If you have a heated shop I'd suggest it's a great winter project. Good luck and post lotsa pictures when you get going! Michael
  7. The only way I think it'll ever work is if they start zero tolerance enforcement with a super steep scale for offences. 1st offence, 3 points, $500.00 and car impounded for a week. Second offences, double all that and scoop the license for 6 months minimum. 3rd offence - license gone, car gone, and 60 days of 3 hots and a cot. Sorry if I seem harsh, just know of too many (1 would be too many if ya think about it!) who've had tragic changes to their lives because someone had to LOL someone else instead of driving intelligently! It ain't that hard to pull over if they gotta deal with it right now, whatever the issue is will still be there when they get to it. They'll be more likely to get to it AND get home every time if they do pull over or ignore it till later! However, the easiest solution is to shut the dang phone OFF, BEFORE starting the engine. I've seen me do it and it works! Michael
  8. I wonder if that was a steel rod that went with it - not sure why but I also think it would have been used with steel line as well, mightn't be right on that part but something about it rings a bell... Michael
  9. Rod Caster is in that field - not sure what exact area but if he don't know he probably knows someone who does. Michael
  10. If your inspection and test (and yes do check all the livewells etc as recommended) hasn't revealed anything further I'd put it back in the water and watch closely. There may also have been some grit or debris in the drain tube that allowed a bit of leakage around the plug (in addition to needing tightened), which may have been flushed out when you pulled the plug. Worth a shot anyhow - better than tearing things apart to find nothing. Michael
  11. Now THAT'S cabin fever... Michael
  12. It almost looks like somebody Magyvered 2 different lures and added a blade, half kwikfish and half torpedo. I'll be the first to say kwikedo and avoid someone (like me) who'll slap the first person to say it! Michael
  13. Dang! That last specification cuts me out! I was already practicing left handed death laser until I saw that! Michael
  14. Any Electrical supply house like Nedco (where I bought mine, wanted batteries at the back for my bow mount) or Ideal supply etc. Michael
  15. Dontcha just hate the pain right across your forehead when something all of a sudden triggers a lost memory? Then stop bashing the wall with your noggin! Michael
  16. Looks like parts of a receiver for a scotty type rod holder to me. Michael
  17. Ya know if we all chip in a dime or two we could get Chris another length of chimney pipe so his feet could be warm too... Just Kidding! Michael
  18. Poor Cliff must feel tired right now from dodging all the magic eraser sponges getting tossed at him! MIchael
  19. x3 magic eraser Michael
  20. Me? Tree hugger? When both arms were working I was the nastiest dude with a chainsaw y'all ever did see! But I took 'em down quick like, didn't torture 'em punching all those holes in 'em, humane that's me. It's gonna be interesting to read how much you get on the next cycle - it's almost as if you're getting a double season this year the way the weather's been. Next time I see ya you'll probably weigh in around 300 lbs after swabbin' up all that syrup with pancakes, waffles... Michael
  21. Well of course they're weeping - some guy keeps punching holes in 'em, you'd weep too! Sounds like ya need to start selling some at the end of your driveway. Michael
  22. What Wayne said x a bunch! Michael
  23. so was this water in tanks caused by birds cavorting? Michael
  24. OH! Must have missed the getting towed part - last I remember reading was you were waiting for a tow truck to be available. Really hope it gets resolved quick and easy (and cheap!). Michael
  25. Now if you had described my vehicle (caravan) I probably wouldn't have been so quick to jump on that... NAH! I'd still do it! Michael
