  1. Huh? Michael
  2. Spent a moment admiring it myself at Trombly's when I went in for minnows. Still pondering whether or not I want to invest in trying one myself, but it looks like it would be perfect (IF it works) for me to use when I'm shorefishing as I do carry a satchel. Michael
  3. Well... Seems TJ's getting a little "shredded" in the "new classifieds" thread cause of something I said. Based on what I've seen here over the years, it would appear that I done did get fitted in pretty quick! Thanks for the welcome all, it's getting fun already. TJ, they've done worse to ya, chin up and all that! Michael
  4. Gee TJ, did I cause 'em to pick on ya? Guess it was just "Newbie" luck! They say it's lonely at the top, but I guess that don't apply here. Michael
  5. Uh-Oh, if TJ was yanking my chain he got me! I did what he said! Michael
  6. Umm...Don't wanna commercialize the board, maybe you could pm me what you might like & I'll see what I can do instead. In retrospect I maybe should have left out the part about what I do for a living, sorry if I broke any rules there! Michael
  7. Ran into TJ on the "new classifieds" thread and am obediently following the Master's directive (thanks for the advice TJ!) Name's Michael, originally from the Big Smoke, now transplanted to Uptergrove just east of Orillia. Spent most of my life growing up (?) fishing on Dalrymple. Done some "time" on the BOQ. Now learning more about Cooch, Simcoe and the Bog. Spent the last 2 years exploring just shorefishing softwater (by choice!) anywhere I can within a couple hours drive. Getting into hardwater this season a bit more. Operate a small discount tackle outlet which just fascinates the hell out of me learning all about what's out there that can't be found in the big box stores. While I try to use everything I can get my hands on for fishing, have to say my favorite is all different sizes of slip float & live minnows (right up to 14" suckers) followed by walking sinkers with a floating jig head/live bait combo if the terrain permits. I probably spend more time researching products to buy in & running the shop than I do actually fishing, hopefully that'll change soon! Met a ton of fellow anglers from the area in the shop, many I hope are also members here too! Enough of me already, I'm going back to the background where I've been for many years now learning from Y'all, although I'm sure I'll crop up from time to time now that I've taken the plunge! Michael
  8. Nah Roy, pretty sure he meant me and I think he is right (except it wasn't my FIRST post, ha ha!). Haven't found anywhere specific for new introductions, did a search and checked the help section too, nothing. So, without further hijacking this thread, do I just make a new thread in the general discussion? Don't really wanna just make a post about me, not any kind of an AW at all! Michael
  9. OOPS! Been lurking this board so long that when I finally did sign up I guess I just missed that part. Name's Michael from just east of Orillia. I think there's a proper section for introductions (?) I'll go find it & take care of that right away. Thanks Marc Michael
  10. TJ, there's a huge ad on there from Nairobi Kenya for flies. Not sure if it's THE one I've heard about on other boards, but if it is it's got scam plastered all over it!
  11. The first 2 weeks in January I was out every other day trying to keep up. Then we had the "thaw & rain", gave me a 2 week reprieve. Since then I've used the snowblower last Thursday, yesterday and again today. Would have been out on the weekend but had to work so no time for it then. This place is huge, takes an average of 4 hours per outing to clear all the snow. It's almost as if the snow only hits here! True fact is the drifting is what causes the problems, farmers fields all around us and it all ends up exactly (to the millimeter) blowing into our huge driveway. Even with all that, I'd still like to see winter continue, lots of great catches being reported and I want to get in on it too! As for P3TA, I'll be glad when they grow up and find a real cause to waste their (and my) time on! What'll they complain about next? How about the inhumane treatment of minnows used as baitfish? (they haven't done that yet and I missed it did they...? oops, don't wanna give 'em any ideas!) Michael
  12. 911 is the only call that comes to mind. They have in depth communications to all emergency services. Good question though, I probably would have been wondering about that if it were me too! Michael
  13. Sadly, the Quinte Fishing board confirms the body of a 49 year old man was recovered by police. No other details there. Condolences to the family. Michael
  14. In a way you answered it yourself. You said the garage is on a dedicated 15 amp breaker now. Just plug the "can" in and have at it. As long as there is no other big draw on the circuit when the vacuum is running you will be fine. If you have a light on that's on the garage circuit it will dim when the vacuum starts up. The reason for the 20 amp spec is for start up (all units have an initial high draw) or if there's a long term blockage. I believe you will find the can itself has a 15 amp reset on it that will trip if the unit overheats. As for using other high draw devices when the unit is running, how ya gonna do that when you're cleaning? (ha ha!) In a worse case scenario (surprise!) the panel breaker will trip. Turn off any other devices while vacuuming. The other option is to pull another 14 ga wire on a dedicated 15a breaker for an outlet for the can only, but you say you can't without opening drywall up. My advice is to try the existing FIRST before you worry, I think you'll find it'll be ok unless you have a freezer or beer fridge on the same circuit. If the panel breaker keeps tripping, go fishing and pontificate on how you'll run the additional wire (hint - FISH it!) Good Luck! Michael
