  1. Nobody spilling stuff lately Chad? Seems like you found a minute or two with nothing to do.... Michael
  2. Dog kibble. Use it to bait the trap. Bring 2 buckets. When it works - it WORKS! Michael
  3. Dunno how accurate this is but I ran a quick google search based on your picture Brian: http://www.country105.ca/podcast.php?PodcastID=866 Michael
  4. Y'all just put yerself on the guvmints gonna watch ya list ha ha ha! Michael
  5. OK - it sure looks outta place but I get it. It's real hard to tell from the picture but it's just because I'm old school in some ways that would have been the first thing (the kink) I would have addressed. Is there a plug on the pump discharge you can loosen to bleed air? Or another one on the intake to prime it (pour water in while pump is running)? Those are more well pump tactics but who knows? The only other thought I could offer would be a restriction on the intake of some sort. It seems to me that the pump SHOULD self prime if the tub is full (if piped properly) but again it's a best guess sitting here looking at a picture without diagrams to compare to. You might want to take/send your picture to where you bought the package and see if you've got it set up right. Good Luck! Michael
  6. I see one heck of a kink in the clear braided flex hose beside the pump motor - sure doesn't seem right to me... Michael
  7. Could it be a breakdown in communication? As in each of the other three thought you had been involved in the discussion without realizing you weren't? Kind like that Home Alone movie where they got all the way there before realizing the kid wasn't with them. I'd give it the benefit of the doubt and straight out ask how it came to be they were away without you, but be prepared to get an answer you may not be expecting. It's possible that they were thinking something you weren't and didn't know how to approach you, just as it's possible you may have alienated yourself for some reason. Only they know - and if ya wanna know too ya gotta ask, otherwise it's all just guessing. Michael
  8. hmmm.... We might have to move the posts for the hoist a bit to git that one in the shop Skip... Michael
  9. I didn't use the backdoor to rat out to TJ this time even tho I noticed it first thing this morning and still down when I got back around 11:30. My Yahoo emails have been acting up along with a couple other sites I visit. Methinks theres a conspiracy at work somewhere (tongue in cheek) or maybe there's whole bunch of upgrading going on around the interweb. Keep at it Roy, it's a thankless job at times I know! Michael
  10. I used a back door to find TJ and rat out all the techs & mods who was sleeping on the job....and then it was working again! Good job all - was kinda wondering when different computers and browsers didn't work. Michael
  11. More than likely not at all - I'm not an expert or licensed but it just seems to me that there would be back draft issues from one appliance to the other. I've never seen or heard about shared flues like that - sure would be interesting to have an expert chime in here - I'd like to know too! Michael
  12. Pretty sure it should be an RG-6 cable - should be printed on the cable itself. Just phone the satellite service you're thinking of using and check with them. I'd let them worry about the install - they've got all the toys to set it up and a van load of stuff to do it. They used to give enough programming credits to offset the install cost, not sure how they do it now. Michael
  13. Surgery at 7 am tomorrow morning - less than 24 hrs notice for it! Good thing I've been waiting on the edge of my seat to hear from them!

  14. This is taking a while for me to type - only got one hand I can use right now and I'm spending extra time correcting to make sure to be clear... Speaking as a former administrator for a major landlord I can honestly say that IF you have a LARGE warchest (read $$$) to cover repairs, maintenance, legal and other expenses along with suffering not being able to collect large sums of unpaid rent and can stomach the grief professional tenants (ya they exist) can give you then by all means go for it. I'm sure you recognize this as planning for the worst and hoping for the best - because IF you get good responsible tenants (ya they do exist) it can be rewarding as well. Never invest more than you are prepared to lose, if you get a mortgage to buy a rental depending on the rent to cover all the costs and maybe a dollar or two extra, consider what would happen in a worst case scenario of a bad tenant and your ability to survive the very high costs and lost income that occur when the worst happens. It can take months to just get a ruling in your favour, with more time after that for the tenants to be evicted legally by the sheriff, then repairs etc while no money is coming in, and a huge outstanding unpaid rental account to try and collect, again with associated costs. Meanwhile the bank/mortgagee, utilities and taxes all wanna be paid regardless of what you might have coming in. Suggest you might wanna review some case histories on CANLII and/or the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board sites before you spend dollar number one. Might even wanna google for professional tenants and see what horror stories are out there. Sorry to be such a downer but I've spent enough time in the past appearing before the various boards, tribunals and small claims courts to have been on a first name basis with many of the members and judges. Every single item I've outlined I've had hands on experience with. Probably why I ain't doing it now - took a toll on me! Michael

  17. Try googling surfango adventurer jet powered kayak - quite a few returns there! One has a 45 hp setup. Michael
  18. The thought of Cliff's blood boiling over witnessing illegal harvesting got mine into a nuclear meltdown. I had to read it twice to calm myself at the end. If I wake up chuckling at 3:30 in the morning I will look up Cliff's phone number that he's always posting to offer his help and guffaw loudly when he answers. Long days, hot sun, and heavy labor can sure make one susceptible! Good One Cliff - I have been thoroughly taken! Michael
  19. Metro in Orillia had the size you wanted for 9.99/lb. swimming around the tank. Might be worth a call to the fish counter of your local Metro and see what they can do fer ya! Michael
  20. Guess I can stop being excited about the 90 years lost in the bermuda triangle coal ship they found in cuba.... Michael
  21. A slice of sourdough bread in the trap as bait. Under the dock overnight. Worked well for me! Michael
  22. Sir White: the suggestion to use mono was strictly for practicing with a dummy weight, not for fishing. Rather than ruin twenty bucks or more in braid use some cheap mono until he gets the hang of it - then back to braid for those long distance hawg hooking trajectories! Michael
  23. Training technique I read about and I used to pass on to my customers: After setting mag drag to allow practice weight (rubber sinker if you can find one) to slowly fall to ground - peel out 30-40 feet of line and put a piece of tape on the spool. This limits your practice casts distance and makes less bird's nest to clear if you get one. As you become more efficient - increase the amount of line you can cast out by removing the tape, let out more line & re-apply the tape. One day get real cocky and eliminate the tape as you toss that rubber to the next area code! OH YEAH - start with about a 10-12 pound test mono - cheaper to ruin than braid! Michael
  24. I don't use baitcasters personally (YET!) but I got the best information from the Power Pro pamphlet that used to come with the spools, along with their site and this one too of course. I'm guessing you need to set up your mag drag and practice a bit more though - it all takes time and patience I'm told! Michael
