I did some work before signing in - started around 5:30. A bit more to do here then off to a friend's to do more there, then somewhere else, then back here to do more. After all that, I got more work to do. Now if I could just make money at it....! Maybe tomorrow? Michael

Olympic athletes are sponsored by government and big business - anglers support government & big business! Michael

We really need George Carlin to rewrite "more stuff" to "more happiness"! Too bad that ain't gonna happen! Michael

NF any one here useing the new Hotspot ?
cheaptackle replied to Skipper D's topic in General Discussion
Then you may end up not wanting it Skip - unless they're doing somethng entirely new fixed billing is usually limited to the first month or maybe a few, after that anything over a certain amount of usage will cost you somehow. Flex plans vs fixed plans both have their plusses - I've found flex to work best for me. Michael -

If I read the Bell site correctly it's $92.80 plus taxes and the other (who knows??!!) charges per month for 15 gb of data, 55.80 for 5 gb etc on the 30 day flex plan, plus 49.99 (and the usual) to buy the hotspot. Speed & coverage seem ok based on the site's info. I use just under 5 gb/month on average (don't wanna go over that!) with NO Netflix or other movies, costs me around 82.00/month all in with the "beloved" Rogers Rocket Stick, so it's comparable if not a little cheaper than what I have now. I might be making the change myself! Need to check it out some more. Michael -
I was wondering that myself - but I think he indicated just the spoon.... Michael

No Sinclair - it was an R2F 5' kids model with 80 lb power pro! (if you only knew how many of those I actually see!) Michael

Skip there's a couple different ways to accomplish what you want - Sinclair is right about calm waters vs. the Larry (remember what we talked about in the boat). You should be looking more to the under 1 oz. I can show you a couple ideas... Michael

One of my faves - very relaxing too! Michael

Ontario: Percherel - Proliferaton of perch with the size (and taste!) of walleye. World - haven't much experience with salt water species, I'll have even less if the Percherel ever happens Michael

Like others I had my doubts when I opened this post - wondered if a typo or a few words were missing (painting grandma's house, portrait, car etc.) Use 'em before ya paint 'em! You might be saving yourself a bit of effort when you find they work best as they are, and you can always paint later if they don't. Michael

Who, me? Geez guys I gotta rep to keep up here! How am I supposed to come across as the grouchy old man when y'all keep contradicting me? I actually got the better end of the deal with both of you - good company, good times and FISHING! Best part is all the plans came together and more can be made! We now return to the previously scheduled program... Michael

Fascinating historical reading! Well written, I almost felt as if I was there at the time. Bottom line is that it's private property no matter how desirable it may be to encroach upon it. Not unlike the old Longford (Morrison) situation. Michael

Good place to get boat vinyl flooring in the GTA?

If you're still at the research stage check out Duradek (Duradeck?) contractor in your area. I think you'll be surprised at the quality but might not like the price - it costs what it does because, well, it's good stuff! Doesn't cost anything to look into it though Michael -
Need some angle iron (metal or aluminum)

Try Bayview Boats - North end of the Southbound side of Gasoline Alley (he builds huge custom aluminums). I picked up some plate from him VERY CHEAP$$$$$. Bring small bills - he didn't have any change when I was there so he cut the price even more! Now I feel guilty! Michael -
Listen to the Uncle! Cost me 25.00 for a 16 footer at an old "no scales" county dump AND they let me fill it up first! Not sure where you are but check with your local landfill/transfer station - if they have scales you're probably less than/around 1/2 ton in most cases. Michael

My first introduction opened a can of worms so I won't ever again use the word "master" in any thread that might suggest a reference to our revered founder! I'm Michael and having been living on the north shore of Lake St. John just over 2 years now. Spent a couple years in Trenton, prior to that most of my fishing was good old Dalrymple where I spent most of my fishing life. Own & operate a modest fishing related business which takes up about 200% of my time but I still get out once in a while in my non-Chuck Norris approved tinny. Met a few other members from here, in fact 4 of us held a joint meeting last holiday Monday. I lurked the board for years before joining, finally took the plunge a couple years back and no turning back ever since. Have to say that I've learned a lot, laughed a lot, and even cried a lot over the stories, life events and accomplishments I've been privileged to be able to read. I check this board at least twice if not more daily as I fear I might miss something! Too bad we can't somehow clone the positive aspects from here out into the rest of the world - if we could, gas would be 20 cents a litre, the 400 would move at 120 kph 24/7 including long weekends (which would be every week!) and minnows would be under a buck a dozen! And I would be rich..... Back to reality now! Michael

If all else fails raid your missuss's nail polish, put a light clear coat on the male end (shaddap ya sewer brains!). Let it dry completely. Test fit to see if the fit tightens any, repeat if necessary. If this does work expect to repeat the entire process on occasion based on how often the rod is taken apart. If you put on so much you can't get them together - back to the original source for nail polish remover! Or return the rod for a new one...? Michael

Combination poker run/casting game using ice rods, small rubber sinkers & one gallon buckets (or other) at 15 to 20 feet. One handed Cast into the bucket (no bouncing off the floor etc) successfully gets to draw. Miss, no card. Five Bucks to enter or Buck per cast, 2 or 3 for a buck, or buck per card won, your choice of how to charge. When 5 cards won/drawn per player, they can wait for the round to end or buy in for another hand BUT no switching cards between hands (keep it a natural draw) best hand wins...50% of pot? Options - make players use their opposite hand, stand sideways, put a lid with a hole in it on the pail, etc. etc. to increase the challenge Oh - only underhand casts - don't want to take out any lights or windows! Variation - think beer pong! Good Luck! Michael
