I have to agree with all that was said, both are good, maybe a lighter engine is good for your purpose, but just for what my comments are worth our 90 Merc has been flawless, doesn't skip a beat, troll for hours, no fouling, etc And as was mentioned there are alot of Merc dealers around which may get u up and running faster in the event of a mishap. The only problem we had was a magnet cracked inside the electric motor for the tilt trim, replaced under warranty, no issues since. Whatever u buy enjoy.

I guess it comes down to exotic or becoming extinct, its a conservation thing, the gov't should not have to always pass laws inorder for us to use common sense based on information provided to us from the wild life agencies, like the changes that were made to protect the sturgeon.

From studies that have been provided the polar bears numbers are diminishing because of global warming and over hunting. I hunt and fish but will not go after species that are decreasing, it was not the permit thing I had an issue about, but rather the species they were targeting.

THANK YOU Bill, that was my point.

We all make mistakes, I read the first part wrong.

Thanks for posting this, some people believe they are above the law, sadly judging from their past they will most likely try it again. Personally I would ban them from coming back until March 23rd 3039

Don't know all the circustances but if it is of pure laziness and I don't give a hoot they apparentley have little regard for the upcoming boating season. Came to close to hitting a submerged one half way down Kempenfelt Bay approx. 10 years ago with our fiberglass boat, gets the heart pumping for sure.

mr blizzard replied to The Urban Fisherman's topic in General Discussion
Amazing storey, saw that on the Edmonton news, they are 2 lucky girls, Easter weekend will be extra special from now on for the families involved. It was truly incredible how the dog sensed the girls danger and managed to rescue her. I am sure they will receive an award from Ottawa, great storey. Look forward to your reports. -
