  1. Brand new jigs & brand new Live Target lures in the box! I know for a fact they're $17.00 regular price - I own quite a few.
  2. I just returned from the swap meet in Ancaster. Lottsa good deals! 12 pack of 1/4 & 3/8 oz jigs, various colors $1.00! Also Live Target perch, jointed 5 3/8" $8.00. Also tax included. Most tackle stores are $17.00 each for Live Target jointed!!
  3. I do run bearing buddies on my trailer. I also remove, inspect & repack the bearings every spring. Just did it today. My tires were well worn so I purchased 2 new 5:30 -12" tires & rims for my boat trailer. Awesome pricing at Advantage trailer in Smithville. 2 new tires & rims 50 bux each! New spare 4 bolt pattern hub includes inner, outer bearings, races, grease seal, cotter pin & dust cap $18.95. Cheap insurance. Set of bearings $8.95. Includes inner & outer bearings, grease seal, 2 races. Awesome pricing!
  4. Hey Fish Farmer. You know I'll be searching live target at the swap meet.
  5. Live Target Smelt, jointed, awesome on Erie walleye! I initially tried 1 last summer out on an inline planer board. Lure wasn't in the water 4 minutes - WHAM! Fish on! After putting 4 nice wallys in the boat I headed directly to Grimsby Tackle, bought 4 more! Pricey, but worth it.
  6. No I won't be attending. Even if next year is 2016??
  7. I plan on attending. Meet you guys at the snack bar 12 noon. Yes!
  8. Is that porketta? What's your address, I'll be right over! Welcome to OFC.
  9. Good score Nick! I like the price! Have fun rebuilding. Let us know how you progress.
  10. Happy birthday Beans! Hope you have a nice day!
  11. Welcome to the zoo! You'll have fun here!
  12. Thanx guys for the tips. Tomorrow I'm going to check the air pressure in both tires, then get my grandchildren's chalk out for the chalk test. Then put them up to 80 lbs + maybe 5 lbs as Gmech is suggesting. Does CTC have the appropriate equipment to balance 12" trailer tires?
  13. Thanx GMech The axle is brand new, so I doubt very much it is bent. I also measured the distance at both ends of the axle to the rear of the trailer & found the measurements to be exact. So I guess the tires are underinflated. So how do I determine the appropriate air pressure? The tires are stamped load range C, max load 1045 lbs @ 80psi. My boat is a 14' Lund which weighs 265 lbs, motor is a Yammy 20 hp, 4 stroke weighs 130 lbs, full gas tank 50 lbs, 2 batteries 110 lbs., electric troller 50 lbs. Add some miscellaneous gear such as anchor, paddles, PFDs, 4 rods, tackle bag probably 50 lbs. trailer I'm guessing 200 lbs?? So total weight on the tires is approximately 855 lbs. Do I inflate the tires to their maximum capacity of 80 PSI?
  14. Good point. Something I've never done. You can be assured I'll be getting my trailer tires balanced. Right now I have uneven tread wear on a pair of tires that are only 2 years old. The centre rib is higher than the 2 outer ribs. I was told it could be over inflation or under inflation. Can any confirm this situation for me. Thanx
  15. I've trailered my 14' Lund many times up to to 7-9 hours at a time. No issues. At each stop I do a full check of the boat & trailer. I physically feel the hubs to ensure they are not running hot, also feel the tires for heat. I also carry a brand new spare hub with appropriate tools to do a quick change if necessary. I also carry 1 or 2 litres of motor oil, bearing grease, & grease gun. Check your tie down straps as well.
  16. Grimsby tackle is awesome! Very knowledgeable staff. I was shopping some tackle items at BPS. 2 days later went to Grimsby Tackle. He is what I found. Dipseys size 1 BPS $22.00, Grimsby $17.00, Humminbird Helix at BPS $600.00, Grimsby $500.00. Buffs BPS $28.00, Grimsby $17.00. I've asked my family members NOT to purchase gift cards for me from BPS. I'll support the smaller shops!
  17. Porky (sorry Porkpie) is right on the money. The launch in LaSalle is very handy to the walleye hot spots on the river. Accomodations are not very handy. There's the Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn & Hampton Inn on Huron Church road. A little pricey at $150.00 per night last time I was there. There's also the city marina closer to the mouth of the river at Lake St. Clair. You'll be closer to the Casino as well! I've never fished that area except for perch of the marina docks, but, I have seen some nice walleye coming in on other guys boats. They use a hand line wooden frame type apparatus which I'm not familiar with. Kinda like the cod jiggers from down east. Good luck!
  18. Too funny Limey - deer causing traffic jams! I love it! In my small town there's a traffic jam if there's 4 cars at the main street traffic light! LOL! Oh & while driving people will let you into their lane if you happen to not know the turning lanes. In the GTA - they will run you over! Citiots!!
  19. Too far of a drive for me as well (I'm in Niagara), but I will be attending the fishing/ tackle swap show in Hamilton on April 2. I'm sure the Trenton show will be awesome! Have fun guys!
  20. Dara - Yah I have to agree about the poor conditions of the roads. The traffic can be very busy along La Salle Blvd & surrounding streets at rush hour, but the key is avoid travelling those areas at 5:00 pm. While employed there I would usually work 7 - 3:30 so traffic wasn't an issue for me. If I was driving a crane down the street late afternoon during rush hour I didn't care, I was getting paid premium time until I returned to the shop. Thursday night I would pack my camping & fishing gear & head north up the #144 right after work on Friday - camp, fish all week end! Doesn't get any better! I'm not aware of the fallout you describe. I know Extrada smelter (previously Falconbridge) & Vale (used to be Inco) have spent billions on upgrading pollution & environmental issues. Back in the early 70s there wasn't a tree or even scrub brush to be seen, just bare rock! Today there is a lot of greenery to be viewed every where. Blueberries are abundant & the largest I've ever witnessed! Also I was able to jump on my sled or ATV, drive up to my buddies home (2 Kms), go out his back gate & be on the OFSC trails & travel for hundreds of miles. In Fonthill I was stopped by the cops for riding my atv down the shoulder of the road. From my home it's a 7 - 8 hour drive to some of my favourite lakes north of Sudbury. I know I'm only discussing the outdoor activities here. But, is there anything better?? Rick - I'll get back to you when I have a little more time to discuss plans for LOTW.
  21. Hey Rick please explain "Sudbury is like my dog's pooping spot" Have you lived in Sudbury? I'm sure North Western Ontario is awesome! I lived in Thunder Bay back in 1971, but I'm warning you now I'm coming to Lake of the Woods this summer!! Look out!! The walleye don't stand a chance!! Let's talk.
