  1. ~~~~Was watching a TV show last night called Combat Cash, 1 segment was about the re-enactment of D Day landing at a park in Ohio on I believe Lake Erie, with landing craft and a Duck and guys running up the beach dressed as G.I.s being fired on by other dressed as Germen solders, would have been great I sure to have these warships off shore firing their guns also. Going to see if I can get some more info on this, wouldn't mind going down to see it.
  2. ~~~~Looking for a Phishen Partner in the Durham area, with a vehicle with a 2" ball, that can haul a 16.5 Pro Tracker boat. Looking to get out after the Jumbos on Simcoe, and Eyes later on Rice, and come late Nov. down to BBQ for some more Eyes. Send me a PM if interested Bill
  3. ~~~~get ready to have an enjoyable time on the water, advise not to spend a lot of time travelling from one lake to another, you'll spend most of your time waiting to get through the locks.
  4. ~~~~~Dang, I enjoy watching that show, and when the 2 brothers are on I'm reminded of my own brother, and how much other think were twins. He will be sadly missed from the show.

  6. ~~~~Paul and I hit Canal Lake on Sunday, hoping to find some Crappies, with the weather bright and sunny, and the winds out of the NE it was breeze, phished from the closed Marina up to the Golf Course, phishe deep and shallow with nothing to show moved it to one of the small bays, and in the shaddow of a couple of trees we were able to tag 2 Crappies, right on the edge of the drop off. saw some others swiming around small Pike with a major battle wound, nail some small Perch. My camera wasn't working so hopefuuly Paul can get the pics up

  11. ~~~~~AAAAAH Satursday Morning Paul and I were going to it Canal for Crappies, because the weather man said the winds would be out of the North at 25K. So whem we got to the shell station at 48, & Lakeridge there was only a light breeze so we headed over to Virgina Beach to see if they had any minnows, Nada, and at $6. in & $6. out plus $8 parking, we headed back to the Glades to Launch. Seen lots of Pin head at the ramp basking, but nothing spooking them, so we headed out, only saw one boat out in 22' area, and another guy tied up along the channel break wall. Check a few areas where I like to phish but nothing showing, very few Terns flying around, so onward we went over to Georgian Bay having spoke to another Twacker owner at the Shell station, who said they did well on Friday. We spotted the small armada of boats about 15, separted into 3 groups most in shallow 5' range a few in the 9' area, and a couple out deeper in 12' which is where we went. Paul was first with a nice 10", Then next cast this 13.5" Not having many minnows I was using some small coloured Crappie jigs tied on with a drop sinker rig. and no bait, casting out with a slow retrive, and had 2 or 3 double headers. Paul had tied on a green twister tail grub tipped with a minnow, Which he has kept a live at home for over 2 month (he named them) did very well. We kept about 20 total It slowed down some so we decided to run out to deeper water startinf at 50" and slowly moved in looking for Bait balls, but nothing, went over to the 32' flat south oh Thorah and again nothing back to the river mouth Nada. Oh well another great day on the water, and with a great catch Thanks again Paul for a great day of Phishen
  12. ~~~~First one out of the shell Today, have it on my work computor, 2 more to go, and then watch the phish disapear when they get hungry

  14. ~~~~Yes it's that time again, the birds have three eggs, and should be hatching soon
  15. ~~~~As reported Simcoe main lake wide open, but there are some nasty little bergs, and ice sheets still floating around, between Thoarh and Georgina, there is a large sheet still intact,
  16. ~~~~Finally it;s soft water time, time to get the Gween Machine in the water, so Slug and I headed up to Sibs on Sat.to get her wet There was only one other boater at the park we saw him as we were heading out, just off shore. Here's the ramp pics The weatherman says it's going to be plus22, and sunny, eeyea, As soon as we got got we hit the fog bank, and ice sheets Couldn't see more then 25' in front at most times, had to skrit, around some large sheets of ice, not with out bumping this Berg Alot of bergs the size of trash cans were just under the water blending in, with the fog. We stopped 6, or 7 times, looken for perch, not marking, very much, and not getting any thing. We got to the top of Gerogina Then for a short time the breeze came up, and sure enough But then it would be gone and back to being blind, The only way we made it out there was with the GPS, and old phishen tracks, and wavepoints. We wanted to see if we could getaround the island, but the water was so cold my bilge pump froze up, and the Widdle Gween Machine is 15 years old, so some water does get in, so we headed back to the ramp. There's always next weekend
  17. ~~~~Just got off the phone with the operator at Virgina Beach Marina, and he reports the bay is clear of ive and Sib's Ramp is clear also, can you guess where I'll be this Sat.

  20. ~~~~I once had a hut on Sincoe out of Virgina Beach, first day I took it out set it up with the wife, phished till noon then took herand the sled back in. Came back out after lunch and door was hanging off, called the a buddie Gord Booth who show up with the native detachment who followed the foot prints to 3 goofs phishen near by, they tired to leave when they saw the Native OOPs . They had most of my gear, which I got back.
