  1. My reports will no longer have adjectives. Much more to the point and leaves nothing open for debate. Maybe the mods can word filter all adjectives out?
  2. As long as you like them then that's all that matters!!! Rig both rods up differently so you can switch up easily....one with classic worm and bobber maybe, and the other with a snap swivel on it so you can attach whatever lure you want. It's all good
  3. Wow! This is great news!
  4. I've received lots of help from this board! To call out a few, here are some examples... Big Cliff changed an impeller on an older lower unit for me. Fishndevil came to my house to show me how to maintain my engine...from where to lube to changing my lower unit oil. I posted a thread asking about drift socks and Lew got one out he didn't use and simply gave it to me. BiteMe PMd me after I posted asking about fishfinders and he said "Come to my place and you can have my old one". Sinker came down to my place to help out with the engine as well. Fishnsled on many occasions...from coming with me to check out a trailer, to giving me parts and installing seats in my boat. Gerritt for meeting me in Hamilton to check out a boat. Roy for donating a trolling motor. Basskicker gave me a canoe when I was boatless. GBW for giving me a fish tank free of charge Advice from people on the board for everything from home repairs to installations. This doesn't include the members who have taken me fishing...from Solopaddler taking me on a Northern Ont adventure and State-side Steelheading, to days on the water from Fishnsled, GBW family cottage etc etc etc. I know I have forgotten some people here and I apologize in advance...suffice it to say, this is a true community, and I try to give back as much as I can as well.
  5. Way to go! Some real nice fish there. Night fishing can yield some great results...not everyone can be bothered with it though. That's ok...more fish for you to catch!
  6. Its toast...I'll come take it off your hands!! Seriously though, I know some on here who like it like that...and when I fish for them at night...the goopier (is that even a word???) The better!
  7. Education never hurts! It's great to see a post about salmon (applies to trout too as Paulus pointed out) that isn't condecending, but aims to simply educate. Thanks for posting this.
  8. Click on this link for Canadian Topo maps... http://atlas.nrcan.gc.ca/site/english/maps/archives/4thedition/other/referencemaps/081_82?maxwidth=1200&maxheight=1000&mode=navigator&upperleftx=0&upperlefty=0&lowerrightx=2136&lowerrighty=3032&mag=0.125 Have fun and good luck!
  9. When I first got a gps for the boat, I used it to find my way back to launches on lakes I wasn't familiar with. Since every lake I fished at the time WAS new, I used it all the time. A newbie on a strange lake, its amazing how the shoreline looks the same unless you pay close attention. With the navionice chip, it allowed me to find the drop offs so much more easily. Saving trips and following weed lines allowed me to find them right away the next time I went out. Very valuable tool indeed! Congrats on your purchase!
  10. 39 years ago today.... ...I just turned 3...I have no idea where I was or what I was doing lol. Apparently the game was on in the house though...I remember my dad talking about it
  11. Did I say east? I meant west...
  12. Tell me you do this kind of work with video editing professionally!!! I was spellbound from the start. The choice of music, the filters on the video, the slow motion all mesmerized me. It felt almost dreamlike... Excellent work!
  13. Fantastic report! I have yet to do a fly in...something I've wanted to do for years. Reading reports like this just gives me the itch! Great story telling and pictures
  14. B.o.b. = bring own booze? B.o.f. = bring own food? Where would said G2G be hosted?
  15. Wow! I have worked at Yonge/Eg for 17 years...I go to the food court there at least once a week! We probably have crossed paths. Heading up to Muskoka/Haliburton is not bad at all...hwy 12 to 169 to 11...even on long weekends the traffic always moves. I can be in Hunstville in 2 hours. One thing about commuting from the west end...and it may seem "insignificant", but travelling into the bright sun both to and from work is a real pain! Can you tell I am an east ender??? Lol. Did I mention all those Kawartha lakes?? Lol.
  16. Move to the east end! The Kawarthas at your doorstep. I work at Yonge/Eglinton and its about an hour commute each way. I live in Whitby and I'm 25 mins to Lake Scugog and another hour gets you to to a ton of lakes to fish. Good luck in your house hunting!
  17. Wasps become dormant at around 50F (10C). Can you wait until the weekend? Forecast temps are supposed to go down to 4C on Sunday morning. That way you can get on the roof and knock it off the house without having to worry about them coming out an attacking you! BTW...if you try that, give me a call...I want to videotape it...LOL
  18. Here's an old thread with instructions. Good luck! http://www.ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20729
  19. Happy Birthday!!! Looks like you had a blast this year! The cake on the face...LOVE IT! LOL
  20. A great day of fishing!! Great job on switching up tactics to put some fish in the boat...and congrats on the PB Muskie! All in all, a pretty darned good day of fishing I'd say!
  21. I believe you Lew!! LOL Gotta love short sleeve weather this late in September!
  22. WOW! Incredible pics... Incredible FISH!!! Congrats on the PB...it's a monster!! Incredible vacation!
  23. Nice work guys! Gotta love short sleeved fishing this late into the year!
  24. Loved that Drew! I'm telling you, you need a book deal...you have a true gift for writing! The fish were ok too! Lol
