  1. Was brutal here today in Whitby. This happened at the end of my street. I was blocked getting home...luckily I live on a crescent and just had to go the long way around. http://www.durhamregion.com/news-story/4408431-update-truck-driver-dies-after-collision-with-bus-in-whitby/ I drove up to the roadblock and turned around....never even saw the bus in the ditch!!
  2. This was posted, discussed and the thread was closed back in February.... http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73608
  3. Don't forget to spring your clock forward one hour this Sunday morning at 2am (or before you go to bed Saturday). It will be nice to see the sun out til 730pm....but come on...let's get those temperatures up! Also is a great time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors! Here's a cool pic from last summer....thinking warm thoughts here!!
  4. Very sorry to hear this news Lew.
  5. Brian has pretty much summed up the weekend's events, so I thought I'd share a few more pictures.... Always love this sight...whether with soft water or hard water....it shows that we have finally arrived!! Was a little chilly out there....my breath was freezing on my eye brows and lashes!! LOL The view from the kitchen window.... Did we mention it was cold? I'm watching my rod from the comfort of Fishnsled's truck....LOL Always a great time up there! Thanks Bernie....and thanks guys...it was just what I needed! (well....It could have been about 15 degrees warmer....LOL)
  6. Hard work and perseverance certainly has paid off!!! Great walleye there!! (Huge crappie too....oh...and laker...LOL)
  7. Works best on glass surface I heard....
  8. WOW WOW WOW MIke!!! No one takes pics like you do!!
  9. Thanks GREAT Mike! I've heard you talk before....you won't sound too goofy....LOL. Congrats!
  10. These stories are great!!! Keep em coming!!! A few years ago, a bunch of us were up at Bernie's place. Fishnsled and I head out for an evening fish....there was some prize for the biggest fish. I caught a nice walleye and was holding it out in front of me to take an arms length picture. Fishnsled says "don't do it that way....you're going to lose that fish". I ignored him and with my arm fully extended for the pic, I went to snap the shot with my other hand. I hit the button and the fish goes crazy...it slips from my hand and into the water. I say "I got the picture!!" I looked at it and it went off too late...all you could see was my hand...empty space...and the water!
  11. So, we've all logged hundreds and even thousands of hours fishing in our life. Laughs are a good part of the experience. What has happened to you or someone else on a fishing trip?? Last fall, Fishnsled and I were fishing for musky in the rain. I don't have a baitcasting setup for musky so I was using my spinning combo. I put on a huge suick on and cast it wayyyy out there. Half way out and the bail closes....yanking the rod right out of my soaking wet hand. It flew in slow motion towards shore....and landed with a "plunk" in the lake and slowly sank. I watched it sink, mouth wide open....completely perplexed as to what happened. Then I laughed and said "uh, Will...I lost my rod and reel." Lol Luckily, my lure floated and we weren't in deep water, so we simply went over and retrieved it! So, what brings back great memories for you? Where something so bizarre happened that it's etched in your mind forever?
  12. HAHA Roy. Thanks for the update!
  13. Of course not Roy....I'm at the office and that wouldn't be right. I'm not sitting at my desk streaming the game on the internet at all....
  14. I've had that exact call and I played along for about 10 minutes. I was all concerned and said things like "Wow...I had no idea....what do I need to do? Hold on...let me go to my computer. What website again? Hold on, I have to re-boot. Ok...I'm back...can you tell me the website again? I'm sorry, can you email that link to me so I don't have to type it out? No? Ok...hold on...let me get a pen. Ok....go ahead. Hmmm....didn't work.....can you tell it to me again? Ohhhhh I wrote it down wrong. " Then I asked if he was monitoring my computer right this minute. He said yes...there is virus activity. I said "If you are doing that then why don't you go ahead and tell me the IP address you are monitoring". He said "I cant do that". I said "If you are monitoring my computer then you have to have my IP address". I then say...hold the line for a few more minutes while my phone line tracer works...I already know you aren't from the area code that popped up...please hold..." Then "click". I had some time to kill...why not play a bit???
  15. Completely agree Lew! Also when our speed skater gave up his spot in the 1000m race so Denny Morrison could skate...saying that if he hadn't caught an edge in qualifying that he'd be there anyways. Morrison went on to win silver. Talk about sportsmanship and taking one for the team! I love the winter olympics....enjoy them much more than the summer games. I don't watch most of the events every winter...but a lot of them take me back to watching Wide World of Sports back in the 70's and 80's with my dad on a Saturday afternoon. Very proud of all our athletes!!
  16. Day 3....way to go Canada on 2 gold and a silver!

  17. Another winter storm Wednesday? I give up...UNCLE UNCLE UNCLE!!

  18. Is this what you are looking for?? http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/Enforcement/2ColumnSubPage/STEL02_164545.html Seems you can look up prior years there as well. Nothing showing up past Sept 25 2013....so either they are not posting them anymore or they are just behind in updating.
  19. I was able to tow my small 14 ft tinny with an 18hp motor on the back. Entire package was less than 1000lbs. I towed a friends 16 footer with a 40 once and it really struggled....I wouldn't recommend it. That was the last time I towed anything that big with it.
  20. Awesome post! Can't wait for your next thousand! I've always enjoyed your reports and have been at awe at how many Muskies you catch! My money is on a beauty 50" fish for you in 2014!
  21. They need that third eye to watch out for nets???? UGLY!!!
  22. I look forward to your daily updates! Sounds like you are both having a wonderful time there!
  23. When he got up and walked to the car the poor elk looked like he just lost a friend!! Amazing footage!
  24. Thanks for the update Cliff! You both sound very happy and that's all that matters Enjoy your break! You both deserve it!
  25. I've never been called by a car dealership before!! But sometimes after hearing their sales pitch, I'll say "Hey look...I have this great fridge....it's energy star rated, white, 18 cubic feet and fully adjustable shelves. Freezer up top and can even make ice for you! Are you interested? It's a steal for $200".....and then not even acknowledge any products or services they quoted to me.... Sometimes they hang up....sometimes they are stunned in silence....most of the times I say "didn't think so....neither am I".
