  1. ... they don't get even 50%. Son has been a projectionist since he was 12 years old.. now turning 33. I still can't figure out why anyone goes to the movies anymore. Hope you were at least going to see the 50th rendition of Moby Dick to make it fishing related!
  2. Just make it a free for all Art, and let the gene pool level itself out! Pretty simple, will people and family get hurt... SURE... but they are now as well for not being given access to some stuff that is truly helping people. My fishing buddy Andy would have been gone before his 50th birthday, if he hadn't taken things into his own hands. Weed oil destroyed a 5 cm tumour in his colon (currently undetectable by MRI) and his Oncologists only advise was to go home and get your stuff in order. He'll be 53 in May.. and we'll fish again on his Birthday!
  3. Okay, carry on, a political forum it will become. I have no issue with that, darn proud of my older brother that did every hell hole theatre, including the Gulf War, for the 20 years he served. Just find it pretty strange how the "geography" has changed here.
  4. They do indeed, but as Roy use to commonly post... "there has to be a forum for this stuff"!
  5. All my life's a circle.... Jen's Oncologist told Leah straight out "be a good mother, go over to Yonge St and buy her some good stuff, not that sh it that health Canada sells. Lets get over the "licence" stigma, it's just a stupid complicated step. No different than Alcohol currently is, it just needs to be legal and if it takes tax collection on the recreational users (that aren't green thumb enough to grow their own) sobeit. Well maybe it's a little different than alcohol, as you still can't legally "still" hard liquor in Canada, but I see many here have no issues with that. Hmmm... anyone want to share some Rum mash???
  6. If you do come back through the States... make sure you take in the Crazy Horse mountain rock carving. Much more spectacular IMHO than them Presidents on the hill that were never finished by a huge crew, Crazy Horse was one man's dream...
  7. Thanks for the chuckle Joe!
  8. Leah and I did a month in the motorhome 2004, out through Canada... dropping down in Alberta to a National Park on the Can / US border that I forget the name of and then weaved through every road on out to Vancouver. Took the ferry (with the towed vehicle) to Vancouver Island.. spent the day out there and ferried back. Then went into Washington State, up over the Powder Mountain Pass and worked our way East... including Yellowstone National Park etc. Worked our way across the neat coloured landscapes of Montana, then North Dakota, MN and at Deluth headed back into Canada via Thunderbay to spend 4 days in my favourite Ontario PPark, Fushimi, then Temagami and home. Not sure how well it would have worked without the motorhome to park for the night anywhere / time we wanted.
  9. The path has served Andy (and myself) pretty well over the years and we stick to pretty much the same humps and bumps, although we also tried a lot of new water this year due to wind direction and me going against the "captains" directions. Lots of other boats out there from time to time, never saw a net come out on any of them. Water is still 41 degrees in the Sound. Maybe we are chasing the urban myth...
  10. Yep... I have a black one and a silver one. The black one never works... and I can't put them side by side beside the beaver lodge behind our island and there's never anything in the black one.
  11. At least we know one fish lives in that 400 miles of water Mike!!
  12. Pushed the boat back into it's winter resting spot today and prepared to block the trailer in the air and clean out the boat. It dawned on me that my usual routine is to winterize the live wells and power washer pump, change the oils etc in both engines when I bring the boat home from Temagami in late September and then Musky fish a few times in the Fall before putting her away to splash the fresh oils around. Of course I did that in October 2014 and then the boat never moved until this Falls Musky hunt. I popped the cowling to read what the engine time was last round ( I write in sharpie on the side of the case) to find that we put 96 hours on the Verado this fall trolling for 'skis, so instead of blocking I decided it best to do the old $140 oil / filter change so she's ready for Spring. Guess I'll block it tomorrow..
  13. Dutch I've driven my truck to the dock on December 14th before. Two years ago Leah and I drove out on New Years Eve with the 6500 lbs of enclosed trailer behind the truck.
  14. Still boating on Temagami..
  15. I think there are still parts of Ron's 1976 Monty Carlo at the border, from when we use to go to Buffalo for "at par" beers back in 1981! Just part of the game and I certainly hope that my "fruit of the looms" are hopefully long buried into land fill !
  16. So just why was today the last day of Musky season? We'll have open water until January and they haven't even started on the feed bag yet. Oh well.. time to block the boat!

  17. Gun club is open on Sunday, where we listen to even semi's all day, so what's the difference. Based on most local hunters that we've had on the property there'll be less shots from their guns, than guys sighting in on the range!
  18. I had a RUSH order come in yesterday for a set of hydraulic wheel skis... with some really weird size and rigging requirements on the supplied drawings. Thought it was one of those scams, as they paid in advance and are sending the military to pick them up! They must be done by this Friday so that they have a week to do the install. Maybe they'll take me with them to make sure everything works...
  19. Sorry to hear that Quesnel's, never an easy time. Our Lab did the alzheimers gig as well and now he resides in an urn in the garden, in front of the dinning room window. Hopefully you find peace, before the kids get home for Christmas.
  20. Just make something Emil... no need to be spending $120 What I made for the back of my sled, similar could be made for your nose rack.
  21. After Leah and I stacked what I had cut and hand split (~ 7 bush cords total), I spent the past week cleaning up a section of bush behind my son's new house on the land next door. In an area approximately 400' x 400' he has at least 60 Cherry trees from 6" diameter, right up to 24" diameter. EVERY one of them is standing dead, while the rest of the bushes Maple, Oaks and Ash are all just fine. Anyone know why this one species would have died off???? At least his house is going to smell nice, as other than a few Maples that I dropped and split to mix in he has about 3.5 bush cords of Cherry... too bad we don't have a smoker!
  22. Interesting... I've travelled the 407 several times in the past year alone with a 12' long crate hanging out beyond my rear plate. The only bill I've received from 407ETR is for mine and Terry's trip to BOQ in September and unfortunately Terry couldn't reach far enough back to cover my rear plate! My brother rides it regularily on his Harley, has never received a bill and nothing they can do as his luggage box location is factory.
  23. LOL Floatnfly! I have to apologize to G. Mech though and why I wanted to find the court case on the "house boat" that I referred to. I still haven't found it, but I think it was a "structure licence" case and not a failure to move issue. If I get some more time tomorrow and I'm not cutting firewood I'll see if I can dig it up.
  24. The sad part is, that I can text on my flip phone without looking at it and on numerous trips to BOQ Terry has commented that he doesn't know how I can do that. MUCH less distracting than a group of ladies coming home from bingo and Mildred looking over the seat to talk to Josie in the back seat. I can and have, for over 29 years, talked on my cell phone with the ability to fully see what is going on around me and IMHO is in no way "distracted driving" just having a phone against your ear. That is like saying Mom couldn't keep track of your ass while talking on the wall phone. As for cops doing it, I suspect most times they're updating their facebook status or talking to their girlfriend, they sure aren't talking to dispatch. Followed a cruiser into town today, 3 "chevrons" off their bumper until we cleared Thomson Road at 105KPH... it's a 50 zone! Hope SHE got the hint as I flashed my highbeams and hit my right turn signal to go up the side street!
  25. Rich the ETR only shoots for the rear plate.. why an overhanging load.. the luggage bag on a Harley or a dropped tail gate are a good thing!
