Decided to hit a local pike pond, lots in there just fairly small. Got there with Victor and Trevor and washed our lures for about an hour and not even a sniff. If the pike are in there usually we`d have a few in an hour. I guess they have not moved in yet, might try it again on the weekend. Realized there was a small trout pond just down the road, and there is a little creek connecting the pond to Nith river. Decided to give it a go, had some worms to drown. Managed to get into few little ones, some of the prettiest fish you`ll ever see. First fish of the day Not sure what this little guy is, is it a baby brown?? This was the biggest one of the day, did not really want to kill him but he was bleeding prety bad and hooked very deep Victor got 2 little trout as well as few chubs. Trevor got skunked.....again haha All in all a nice day be out with nice company

I haven't tried boilies on grand yet, i was a little bit skeptical about this magic Hungarian corn at first, thought it was just a rip off, but the stuff was alright. Little bit soft tho but worked ok. I think I saw you in Hamilton today, i was a tall guy that was beside Victor for most of the day.

Just came back from Hamilton, and everybody was catching so i would say now is a prety good time to be fishing for them. Got my ass kicked by them today but Victor managed a few.

Went out few times this year but did not really catch much worth posting, few bluegills and few suckers as well. Victor invited me to join him in some Grand River carping and I couldn't really say no. We met up at the spot and as i was approaching him, his alarm goes off and he`s got a fish on, was not a big one but it was a fish none the less. I netted the fish for him and we shook hands and that was it. Oh yea he asked me to snap a quick pic of the fish using his camera but i failed him and i thought that i took the pic but i never did...oopps. My friend Trevor, another member of the board, showed up a little bit later and joined us for few hours as well. He helped me set up my first hair rig and its worked out much better then expected, actually it was brilliant how they hook themselves like that. About half an hour into fishing i get a prety good hit and i managed to land my pb carp, weighed just over 13lbs, didnt think there were any big fish left in Grand, heres the pic . Big mouth on this guy About 20 minutes later my rod starts dancing again and this was the result, a little bit smaller Ignore my face in the pics, i was facing sun and could not really open my eyes that much. After that bite slowed down a little bit, Victor had a decent bite but missed it. Trevor kept on snagging on rocks every cast so he was getting frustrated. First two fish were caught on some magic Hungarian honey corn, cant believe stuff actually worked. After a while decide to switch it to fat dew worms and managed to land one more carp and two suckers. For some reason my power pro snapped twice during the hook set, i thought this stuff was supposed to be good but hey thats another story. Thanks again Victor, learned something new yesterday. Hopefully we catch a big one tomorrow.

ahhh i see you are back at them. Nice going you two great fish. Now dont knock on Victors fish lol he helped me set up a hair rig for the first time yesterday and he managed to catch a fish as well....mind you it was a small one haha

He looked right pissed hahah, bad turtle. Went to a local spot yesterday myself, carp splashing everywhere in the sticks but could not get any to bite. Maybe next time.

u dont need to have 4 beers to blow 0.05. one beer is enough ( i think), if you drink it and sit down to drive few minutes later to drive you might blow that much. I am getting this info from radio, so if its wrong i apologize.

I think its ridiculous that you cant even have 1 drink and sit in the car and drive. If the cops want to rake in on this they can just park 30 cruisers by any bars that have patios in the summer and pull over people who have had one drink and charge them. I wonder who comes up with propositions like these?? If they want to make roads a safer place i would suggest handing out licenses to 16 year olds. Am i the only one who finds how wrong it is that you have to be 18 to buy a pack of smokes or a beer, but the second you turn 16 you can get a licence????

I`ve heard stories of some big carp being caught at Guelph lake but i have never seen one swimming around and we used to go there at least once a week just to bbq and hang out. Its probably not targeted as much because its considered as a garbage fish in some circles and its less attractive then pike or bass or trout. Love chasing them personally and always give me a run for my money on lighter tackle.

IS there a reason why catfish that big don't grow in Canada?? I know that ones caught here are a different type of catfish but why dont we have "euro cats" swimming anywhere here. Imagine how awesome it would be to catch them??

I was getting ready to go out for a trout opener, peeked through my window and saw black clouds coming. Not 10 minutes later i thought i was in the middle of a tornado, its insane how quickly it came. Hope everybody is alright and stayed away from water.

man looking at that ice sends shivers up my spine lol, hate it. Look on the bright side, you dont have to share your lakes with 1000`s of other people, you have them alllll for yourself. Nice fish by the way and a nice pup.
