Take a table spoon of honey every day ( local honey from your area if possible ) 1000mg of omega3 and a glass of pure orange juice helps boost you immune system. These are just part of preventative maintenance, it's takes time to build resistance to common ailments, but no side effects.

Wiring Questions-Fuse Block for Downriggers
NANUK replied to Tim Mills's topic in General Discussion
According to Big Jon's installation instructions, It says to use 10 AWG wire from battery to the receptacle, same for my Cannons, I used 10 guage marine grade wire (tinned) with an in-line fuse as per their instructions. -
Cabelas Barrie, wants to keep their customers coming back
NANUK replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
I have always had excellent service from Cabela's, very customer oriented company. Filled out their online survey after my visit to their Barrie store, The manager called me on Sunday to discuss all the issues, concerns and suggestions I had mentioned in the servey. -
I would put 150 yards of 50 lb braid as backing, I prefer high visibility braid but any braid will do, put a few wraps of mono on the spool first to prevent braid slip. As for leader, approx 25' of 15 lb floro for walleys should do the trick. or you can just use mono.

If you read the side wall, The max pressure of 50psi is when the tire is "cold", So yes, inflate those tires to 50psi, the tires can handle the increase in pressure when they get warm on the road.
-
Check recommended pressure on the side of tire, it varies with the size of tire.

Open access holes and Check from inside for transom wood rot, check outside for any sign of paint bubbles. -
The trick to gore tex is to keep it clean, dirt and grime will trap moisture and also effect the breathability. Clean as per instructions and treat with Nikwax or ReviveX, water should bead off the surface, shouldn't have any wet or soaked spots. Even waders after many hours standing in waist high water. I have some Gore tex garments well over 10 years old, still completely waterproof and breathable.

Cabela's Guidwear has kept me dry through many down pours, comfortable, breathable and functional.

You should be able to get the spool tension knob from Shimano directly, or from one of their authorized service centers like Aikman in Mississauga. My favorite baitcaster is a Daiwa Zillion.

Buff and/or a wide brim hat, Simms Solarflex or similar material full sleeve shirts with good UPF rating. Skin is an organ and will absorb whatever you put on it, I don't like puting chemicals on my skin,

spray with some plain old tap water, leave soaking for 15 minutes, wipe of with a rag, you might have to scape off a few with a dull knife.

Most likely it is the drive shaft bushing squeek/whistle sound, common problem with Yamaha, this bushing is located just under the engine block where the drive shaft connects to crank shaft. nothing serious, just annoying. The fix, take lower unit apart and apply Yamaha grease.......but the noise will return within a few weeks. If you are sure that previous repairs were done properly on the mid section, I would just leave it alone.

Problem with depth finder. Any one know the reason?
NANUK replied to pidge's topic in General Discussion
Most likely the transducer is pooched, common problem with lowrance transducers after a couple of years use. -
An automatic charger can be left pluged in at all the time, that is the theory behind "automatic charger" and in a perfect world it should be OK. However, I charge my deep cycle bettery as soon as I get home, unplug the charger when the battery is fully charged. I guess I am overly cautious like Lew.

MCA ( marine cranking amps ) Sounds like a cranking or a duel purpose battery, Deep cycles are usually rated in Ah ( amp hour )
