  1. sorry to hear joey. windows 8 is poop if you ask me as well. not to kick a woman when she's down but this really highlights the need for some kind of backup / redundancy in your home network. i have a 2 drive raid-1 NAS (two drives that are clones of each other -- should one fail, i lose nothing. just pop a new one in and the data will duplicated onto it from the remaining good drive) and also back that up to an external HD for storing offsite (my work desk). we store everything important on that NAS. nothing important gets stored on the PCs.
  2. great shot and beautiful bird.
  3. yes, all the locations i've been to in the states are fairly elaborate i'll definately check them out in barrie. if anyone has not been to one, it'll be worth your time and make bps look like walmart.
  4. ..and you know this how? have you driven it? let's face it, all suvs are being flower powerized and turned into mall crawlers these days. i suspect this will be no different.
  5. the fact that it is fwd before the awd kicks in, kinda turns me off. but the looks have grown on me. can you 'lock' it in full time 4wd/AWD? it has 4LO right??
  6. I've been running Firestone Destination A/Ts on my Jeep. Would definately buy again. I've heard good things about the General Grabbers too although I've no personal experience with them. My opinion is the BF ATs are overpriced and overhyped. check tirerack.com for reviews.
  7. wife works xmas (long term care) but i off.
  8. wormdunker, Art gave you the way to size an inverter. I agree, running deep cycles + inverter in not ideal if you get hit with an extended outage however, the genny was not in the budget this year hence my battery backup solution. at least being a fisherman, i know my deep cycles are in good shape though!
  9. you may find it at futureshop they were moving them out earlier this year.. stock will vary from location to location
  10. they're missing bolland and to a lesser degree bozak quite a bit me thinks. compared to last year and even early this season, i'm amazed at the lack of hitting and forecheck i am seeing as well -- they just don't seem to be punishing the opposing defense very much. komarov wasn't responsible for all of it!
  11. wood stove for heat gas stove to cook inverter and my deep cycles to power the sump if needed
  12. hwy 9 (or 109 if you prefer) between orangeville and arthur has been a daily mess so far this winter. i think because of it's relative flatness and being a straight shot some people get lulled into a false sense of security and drive waaay to fast for the conditions. we get some big drifts because there's nothing to stop the wind from blowing across the fields and patches of ice are all too common. i wondered why my ins. rate actually went up when i moved here last summer and now i see why!!
  13. I have the Denon 1713, great unit. If you can't find it, check what the replacement model is. They renumbered their lines for this year.
  14. this is a different story and unrelated to the 59" in other posts these are IGFA records now nobody has really bothered with. the current record is small and much bigger fish are caught annually nobody bothers submitting to the IGFA
  15. cotton is terrible. it soaks up sweat like a sponge and draw heat away from you i like under armour and similar products too.. but you can't go wrong with wool either.
  16. The Elite-5 is a great graph/gps. Easy to use, never an issue, I'd highly recommend. Been on my boat for 3 years now, I'll be looking to upgrade to the Elite-7 myself. Wont comment on hbird because I am not a hbird guy but they're fine for your boat, just not mine.
  17. He's the captain and a key defender on the team. getting him to retaliate and off the ice for 2 or 5 minutes is a good thing if you are on the other team.
  18. throwing it into neutral doesnt make any sense to me. not saying it doesn't work or it isn't right but my thinking is unless you have an issue with your rear brakes (on a rwd) any modern brakes can easily over-power what little power the engine is sending to the wheels at idle in gear. i think it's a tire issue and the forces put on them are simply exceeding the very limited grip circle available to them in those conditions (ice). that's what i learned in my years of offensive driving (auto-cross).
  19. being a 2013, i suspect the lenses are fine and not pitted or discolored. have a google at hyundai forums and see what others with your vehicle have done to upgrade the lighting. bill is right, fancy bulbs will have minimal impact and HIDs in stock housings are a bad idea.
  20. bozak out indefinately with oblique strain.. first hamstring now this. offseason of doobeys and beer resulted in poor conditioning?
  21. melting off any snow / slush currently sitting atop whatever ice we have right now could be a good thing.
  22. attaboy.. you can watch on your cellphone in the ice hut too!! as long as you have a decent data plan.
  23. you;'re right bill, but often times those solutions are pretty flakey and can go up and down. my time and (lack of) rage is worth more than that.
