  1. Parnelly, whats the towing capacity on that escape of yours with the tow package? I just got a diesel grand cherokee after owning a v8 grand cherokee and so far, very happy with it but ask me again in a year or so.
  2. I forgot the plug once and I don't think I will ever again. Realized it as soon as I tapped the brakes at the bottom of the ramp and she slid in. Wasn't a big deal as it was still attached by rope, quickly pulled her back on the trailer and ran the bilge. Straps once as well but I can see that happening again. In both cases, I was thankfully the only one at the launch.
  3. I just switched to diesel by trading in one of our gassers -- it's price doesn't seem to move around as much and I'm liking the discount compared to regular. Though I understand in the winter it can be reversed.
  4. i try them on at bass pro, i buy them from ebay.
  5. 2nd shot is great, nice fish, congrats.
  6. I replaced my CT cover after 3-4 years this year. I usually trailer with it off unless it is raining. I found it is the UV damage from the sun that destroyed mine. YMMV
  7. call dufferin outdoors in orangeville and ask if he has any. there's diver's nook in parry sound, he may have some - it's a diving shop but he sells live bait/fishing gear, again give him a call. and if they have any in pointe au baril, you'll pay a crazy price.
  8. yep this will really be an election of those who work for the private sector vs those who work for the public sector
  9. Im aware of all that. The op said he has dedicated snows and is looking for a quiet low rolling resistance tire - making any arguement for noisy higher rolling resistance AT tires which are not as good as dedicated snows in the winter, a losing one.
  10. If the suv never leaves the pavement im not sure there's much point to an AT tire. All seasons will outlast, be queiter and a little better on gas than ATs will be. I run the firestone destination ATs on my jeep and am happy with them should you decide to go the AT route. I hear good things about the AS version of them I think they are called destination LEs. No I dont work for firestone but they were a much better bang for buck than the BFGs
  11. Its how I start my wood stove. Works fine
  12. the one on the top right looks to be a hawg wabbler. it's a slow moving surface lure that makes a good racket up top. i'd spray bomb it black.
  13. little guy 1, gas company - 999
  14. Carry a spare transmission in the boat.
  15. 50" shaft will be too short on that boat. 70lb thrust will be adequate but not ideal.
  16. the greyscale units are more than fine. there isn't anything a colour unit will show that you cannot see with a greyscale one. bottom composition, schools of baitfish, game fish, etc. the color units may be more easier to grasp at a glance. what is more important is pixel count. this will determine how detailed and the level of separation between what you see is. ie. show you fish on the bottom as far as downscan, i have not used it but it is NOT a replacement for traditional sonar. do not get a DSI only unit as your only graph.
  17. Ya I had to throw that bit of irony in there Wayne.
  18. this was in town this wknd i know west montrose was flooded pretty bad this wknd too. the grca is saying their reservoirs are at capacity now so they have no choice but to open them up.. possibly affecting those downstreams of the dams. there's still a bit of snow pack left up here and likely more up at dundalk area so while the bulk of the melt is done, it's not over yet. the rains this wknd really did not help matters and they're calling for 5 cms of snow tomorrow plus 10mm of rain overnight.
  19. anyway you slice it, those are excellent numbers for a full size truck!
  20. 23.5 but for a mix that includes a lot of city that's damn good given its a full size truck
  21. what mileage are you seeing on the hwy, towing and not towing a boat jedi? assuming you keep it at or below 110
  22. as are the walmart ones.
  23. if you are looking for reliable sports, especially live you will have to $ubscribe to internet based streaming services.. such as NHL Gamecenter. $99 / year.
  24. walmart & costco
  25. listen to your mother -- get a grand with a v8 hemi since gas is not an issue. the wranglers are nice and very capable off road plus they are body on frame not unibody but i donno if id wanna spend tons of miles in one either
