  1. The Toronto Outdoor Adventure show started today, and runs through the weekend. Check out the link if you’re interested. It's at the international center. Personally, I've never been there, but am thinking about checking it out on Saturday. Anyone here ever been? http://www.outdooradventureshow.ca/toronto/index.html
  2. How long is the cable..? And what's the max speed you can get up to..? That looks pretty cool.
  3. RENEG!! I havn't been out there yet, but with the constant wind, and steady snow we had last night. It'l probly be tough goin with a quad this weekend..
  4. My grandma had these all over the front yard at the cottage for a sumer. I've never seen an elderly lady laugh to hard, and so often in my life. They're great fun..
  5. same thing BigChev4x4 told ya on the LSMB.. GIVER.. She's good to go!! Good luck eh..
  6. I have the 565 too. At 40' I can mark my double-uni knot. Joey, There are several things that can effect the clarity of these units. If the transducer is not pointing DIRECTLY down toward your bait, it won't mark it as clear. There's a bunch of settings that will affect clarity too, such as bottom zoom, bottom settings, and sensitivity. Do you ever fish the Alcona area? If so, we can meet up one weekend, and I can show you all the tricks..
  7. Aint nothin better then sittin on a block of ice :^)
  8. I got a pair of the el'cheapo Rapala shades from crappy tire. They work good. Excellent for what I paid for them. BUT if $ wasn't an issue for me, I would have got the Oakley MD.. They look like wicked shades..
  9. I have the 565, and I have the same issues at any depth over 60-65ft. It's only the bottom 2-4 inches that I can't see, but not in all situations. If the bottom is soft, or stirred up, it gets worse. On a hard bottom, my lure can be seen right to the bottom at any depth. Try messing with the sensitivity, and the bottom view.. Also use the zoom so you are only looking at the bottom 10 feet or so. That may help..
  10. Hey Boatman, Your asking where to by steel in steel town eh!! I use Metal Supermarkets every now and then. There's one in (or very close to) the hammer. I think it's in Winona. They have all sorts of steel in stock.
  11. That’s great man. You've got a future Olympian there for sure..
  12. I'm headin out tomorrow from Alcona. Taking the sled. Head for whities in the morning.
  13. That’s the right idea. I've been teaching martial arts for 10 years now. I've never been in a street fight. In 99.99% of the time you can talk and walk.. No need to punish someone. As far as fighting dirty. Give er.. If someone if attacking you with intent to cause harm, there’s no such thing as dirty. You’re just protecting your self.
  14. ^^JACKPOT^^ Hammered 50/50 as small as they come. Stir up the bottom real good with it..
  15. I've been searching for a new pair for a few weeks now. I have been running the old wooden ones for about 20 years now. The ones I've been looking at the MSR Denali.. All the reviews look good except for the guys that use them for hardcore hiking, and they seem to wear out a little. They have a modular attachment system to add floatation to the shoe.. I'm not sure about the warranty on them.. Anyone have any experience with these??
  16. I have one of the Ugly Stick combos. I reeled in a 24" 10Lb whitie last weekend with it. It was the only rod I had with ice braid, so I used it. I don't normally use it for big fish. It's a tough rod. Not to sure about the reel though. I've only cought a few big fish with it, but I think it's only a mater of time before it explodes..
  17. Thats about as fast as my sled will go!
  18. Nice laker there Steve.. Thanks for the ice report too.. Good to know...

    Ice Line

I second Fisherman's post. That's the same rig I use. 6lb micro ice with a flouro leader. That's for lakers and whities.. For perch, what ever mono you got on your reel will work..
  20. When was the pic taken. Kemp is skimmed over, with about 1/2 inch of snow on top now.. I'm gettin excited!
  21. k-bay was skimmed over completely from what I could see this morning on my way to work.
  22. NICE!!!!! My floater suit just arrived. A day early. I gave them a CC# yesterday, and it arrived today. Can't beat that.. This thing looks bad ass. Can't wait for this weekend.
  23. I was in the Rack and Reel yesterday. They had a large, and XL and a XXL to try on. The model they carry is the Pro-Lite series (cheapest model). They are on sale until the end of the week. $350, down from $400. They can order anything Salus.. They have the endurance class model on sale for $450. I bought the Endurance (not from Rack and Reel). The price is great considering you can order it from Cabalas for $430, plus shipping. My Endurance will be here tomorrow. I can't wait!!
  24. My family lived there for 10 years or so during that time. My old man was the liquor store manager He was also a paramedic, fireman, and avid fisherman. I was too young to fish, but the old man would never come home empty handed. I'd like to go on a fishing/hunting trip there sometime, but i hear it's a little rough there now..
  25. I cought a perch about that size in the exact same spot last winter. They get huge on the six eh.. As for pike. Just look for weeds.
