  1. "A man is in serious conditions after he was attacked by a large black bear yesterday evening. OPP say the attack happened near Upper Big Chute Road, and Kinnear Sideroad in Severn Township around 6:30 PM. The 48 year old man's injuries aren't life threatening, and he was airlifted from the scene to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. OPP are now searching for the bear, with the help of the Ministry of Natural resources, who are setting up traps. Police say people in the area should exercise extreme caution until the bear is located and trapped. And anyone who sees the bear is asked to call 911" So now, everyone who see's a Bear in Severn Township is going to call 911. Not Likely... How to tell if it's "the" bear. I guess if it doesn't run away from you when you'r yelling at it. But by that time, it may be to late to call 911.
  2. I was up there on Thursday in the Hwy 69 area. Water levels are very low there. Not sure on the temps in that area.

    Fish Crisp

You won't be dissapointed. One of my fav meals
  4. Nice report man. Cat's have to be one of my favorite meals. I don’t eat the really big ones, but in the pound or two range, I would think you’d be alright!
  5. This is a joke right?
  6. Great report man, My fishing partner used to go on a Algonquin spec trip every spring. Hasn't been for years, but he's still raving about it. Maybe we'll make it up next spring. thanks for the great report!
  7. I have tons of great fishing memories, but the one that stands out the most is the first pike I ever caught. Trolling through the narrows coming out of pretty channel on Six Mile Lake, with my Dad. Just as we passed over the "no anchor" warning signs for the under water hydro lines, I get snagged. I pulled on the line for a few minutes, thinking I must have snagged a rock, or maybe worse, the power lines.. SO I hand the rod to my old man. He tugs on it a few times, then hands the rod back to me.. A little bewildered, I ask him to throw it in reverse, so I can get a better angle on it. He says, nope, you got a pike on son. Almost immediately after he said that, the pike went on a tear. We landed it, and I got my first lesson on how to handle the toothy critters. On the way back to the cottage, we held that fish up to every occupied dock we could find. I was so proud of my catch. The cottagers next door came over with a camera and took a few pics, then mailed them to me later that summer. It was only 36", but as a 10 year old kid, that was huge..
  8. I saw that exact picture saying it was caught in lake huron. I was e-mailed to be about 8 or 9 years ago... Been around for a while..
  9. I was kind of thinking same thing, but wasn't sure. Either way. Crazy.. Sorry for posting something that was just posted a week ago. I check this site a few times a day (except for weekends), and I don't remember seeing this before..
  10. A friend just e-mailed this to me. I would be very suprised if it has not been posted here before, but thought I would post any ways. Could you imagine if this happend to you!!!
  11. That's the method I use if my club is't in the boat. It does work well.. Question for the guys who bleed the fish. How much of a difference does it really make in the flavour of a fish?? Does it make it less "fishy", or what??
  12. I used to break the spine, but have recently begun using one of those small wooden bats, that are about 20" long. It fits in one of my rod holders perfectly, and actually came with the used boat that I got a few years back. One swift shot to the head, and they fall asleep. Only used it once or twice on fish that are mortally wounded. You can get the glow in the dark "fish bashers" at crappy tire, same thing..
  13. There's a few in that area, unless this map is wrong.. You just have to drive for a 1/2 hour or so. Dam nice bird man. Good job! http://www.ofah.org/hunting/index.cfm?ID=33
  14. Make sure you don't get your two bags mixed up
  15. Holy cow man. Thanks for all the detailed info. You may want to save all the specific details for a PM though. If I where you, I'd edit that post, and remove all that lovly info about your honey hole. I have already printed this, so don't worry about me! Most guys don't post their exact honey whole locations like this for fear that they will get over run with lurkers. Maybe things are different in Timmins? Thanks again eh!
  16. Wicked looking boat man. What's she worth, if you don't mind me asking?
  17. I may have to give that a try. I appreciate the info. I'm thinkin about brining my canoe up, with the electric troller. I only have sat evening, and sunday morning to fish, so I want to spend it wisely. Is there a few spots to launch a canoe on porcupine lake?
  18. I've seen a candle used before..
  19. But why spend the money sealing the boat if it doesn't leak?
  20. Me too. It's just a waste of water. I tried again to pin point a leak rivet by filling her with water, and nothing. Not a drip on the outside! Could have had 10 showers with that water
  21. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Mattagami River flows besically right though Timmins correct?
  22. Nice Jumbo's man.
  23. Looking at the regs, there sure are a ton of sanctuaries up that way. I appreciate the info guys. I'm going to Google the Mattagami River right now.
  24. Bleeding gills, face, tail, bleeding all over the place. Can't wait to get out carp shooting! Blood and Gore
  25. So, I’ve never caught a walleye before. None of the lakes I’ve fished have ever held them. This summer, my only fishing related goal is to catch a Walleye. Shouldn’t be that hard right? I’m heading up to Timmins for work, and it just happens that it’s the same weekend as the Walleye opener (3rd Saturday in May.) I’ve never been to Timmins before, and really don’t know what to expect as far as shore fishing opportunities. Does anyone know of some lakes or rivers in the Timmins area, or on the drive back down (to Barrie), that I could wet a line, and maybe catch an eye or two from shore? I was really hopping to get some good OFC support on this one. I tried a few times last year to get into the eyes, and had zero luck. I hit G-bay, the French, and a few rivers and lakes in the Muskoka / Severn falls area. I must have been doing something wrong. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
