  1. Those are some nice fat ski's and gators man. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Nothin weird about that That place can be very hit or miss sometimes.
  3. More kids need to get into hunting and fishing. Instead of roaming the streets at night vandalizing, they could be steelheading, or going to bed early, so they can make it to the swamp before sunrise.
  4. They spay the crap all winter long in Barrie.
  5. I think the city is trying to be over prepared for the first big storm. Last year the first storm hit really hard, and the city only had half the plow trucks converted over for winter (from what I was told). That shut the city down for a day, and messed up the subdivision back roads for atleast week. It's just a mater of time before someone slides through a busy salt soaked intersection and causes a pile up. They need to be more carefull with the amount they lay down.
  6. Don't quote me on the "salt". I really don't know the exact chemical they use. It's brutal though. I know some plow truck drivers that spray the stuff. The driver has full control over how far the spray goes. So if they see an oncoming car, then have the full ability to reduce the pressure of the spray, and avoid hitting your car directly with it. BUT THEY NEVER DO!!!
  7. Well, I don’t like to go on NF rants, but my wife is sick of hearing me complaining about liquid salt. A few years ago, the City of Barrie began using liquid salt on the city streets. They generally spray the stuff in the evening, and at night, before a snowfall, or freezing rain. The city has already begun spraying the stuff. They where out last night soaking the streets in liquid salt. AARRGGGG!!! There wasn’t even snow in the forecast.. The liquid salt makes the roads slippery. Especially at intersections when the truck is moving slowly, and additional salt is sprayed. I almost rear-ended a guy last year at a salt soaked intersection. I totally lost control of the car, like on black ice. What then, sue the city for make the intersection unsafe causing an accident and injury?? It’s really nice when you pass by an oncoming salt truck, and they soak your car in liquid salt. I can’t see this stuff being good for your car. OK. There’s my rant.. Thanks for listening.
  8. That would do it to ehh. Crank and Lucky. Yum.. Sounds like fun.
  9. damb. That doesn't look like a simcoe county deer. Wher'd he get that brute.
  10. That looked like a great day on the water. Congrets on the PBs.
  11. That's getting me excited. I think I may go build an ice hut.. Maybe two..
  12. I think you’ve answered your own question man. Changing your diet, even in the slightest way, can really change other aspects of your body. Smoking can do the same thing. Everyone is different. I changed my diet around for a 3 months period (cleanse). I had the worst for a year after that. Not kidding either, and full year if not more... If I where you, I’d start to eat healthy and kick the smoking now, before it really screws you up. Slow down on the beer too. I went to the doc several times with my stomach issues. (Well, a walk in clinic, if you consider those guys doctors). They basically laughed me out of the office once I told them how hard I am on my body. I was around your age when all this happened. I went from 215lbs to 170lbs in three months.
  13. You'll get one Brian, Where those two signs you took pictures of on the same Simcoe forest tract?? It's weird that they both don't have the big green "hunting permited" signs,.. I love those signs.
  14. Is your canoe stable? I wouldn't be to worried about the weight of the electric motor on the side. If it's not workin out for you, then counter ballance the boat.
  15. But then I'd have to spend some money. The Bravo was free If I where to upgrade, it would be to a two up Yamaha of some sort... Venture sounds about right.. An older one though...
  16. Does your uncle still have the cottage up there?? Is your uncles name Harry?? (long shot) I spent the first 4 years of my life living in Pickle Lake (Northern Ontario) Fishing was necesary there. So I guess that's when I started fishing. Once we move south, I began spending a few weeks of every summer at 6 Mile at my grandpas cottage. I also fished the Maitland River a few times a week growing up in Wingham. Some great memories..
  17. I ran a 4Hp evinrude off the side of my canoe for a season. That was a lot of weight hanging of the side. It was a really sturdy canoe. After that motor blew up, I started running a 36Lb Mini. No issues with weight, or anything like that. It moves the canoe along really good. I put the batt. way up in the front of the canoe if I'm alone. Works good as a counter ballance.
  18. My 250 Bravo is so light, my wife could lift it out of a snow bank. They're great little sleds. I worry a bit when I'm draggin the hut, and I hit one of those mile long slush beds. Not quite enough power.
  19. That's some amazing work! I particularly like one from the first group; the one with the leopard on the tree branch. I still think it's a picture..
  20. Some very nice pics.. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Awsome report as usual.. Looks like you've has a great past few weeks.
  22. I don't know if this pic will upload correctly.. This is my first sled. I got it two years ago free from my aunt. Hardly had any miles on it when I got it. Now it's on the ice every weekend..
  23. I hit Simcoe early yesterday for an hour or two. I had to leave before the action started. It was dead in the morning (7:30 to 9:30). I was in Kemp, and my self and a few others prety well got skunked on the perch. Lots of blue gills and bass though..
