Couple thoughts. We get pretty reliable power for about $4 per day for the average home. Compared to a latte at Starbucks that's pretty reasonable Try shutting your power off, especially in the winter, for a day. We are dead without it. Are we overpaying. Probably. From a conservation angle, people will only conserve if it hurts them in the pocketbook. Same goes for municipal water. We water out lawns and wash our cars with drinking water. Still to cheap, maybe. Just sayin.

Just checked 1 billion litres per minute flow rate on the St Lawrence.

Not sure it's that big a deal. Lots of gray water in there. 8 billion litres. The flow rate of the St Lawrance is crazy high. Likely more than that in a matter of minutes. And it will be added gradually. Not sure I'd stick my straw in the river during the dump downstream but 10 miles away will be hard pressed to measure the extra contamination. Doesn't make for good PR though. It's all in the dilution. Victoria BC still dumps it ALL raw into the ocean All the time. Ottawa does it often too. Gotta tell those smallies to stop crapping in the river too. Just sayin.

60 degree surface water on north Pigeon. Like usual the panfish are gone at the dock. I've heard on this site that the Kawarthas don't turn over because they are too shallow. Find where the baitfish go and their preditors will be there. Let me know. I'm still looking. ?

Thanks Cliff. Yup. All my engines get Shell super and stabilizer end of year. My only problem child is the Stihl trimmer. Bugger to start no matter what I do.
