  1. Tough couple of winters. Glad to hear of good numbers.
  2. So. Update on my ash tree. Called a local arborist Just about fell off my chair when I saw the quote. $2600 to cut down, and take away branches and leave logs in 4 ft chunks. Another $200 to cut small. Shoulda been an arborist.
  3. Thanks. These should work. Might have to cut the 2x4 a bit. Great!
  4. Anybody know where I can get some brackets that would take a vertical 2x4 holding side racks around a home made utility trailer. Preferable galvanized to bolt into wood. Tried Princess Auto and HD Thanks Peter
  5. Saw Gord Pyzer do a segment on keeping hands warm while fishing. Recommends using those chemical disposable heating packs under those wrist sweat bands that tennis players use. Tuck in under the inside of the wrist where the blood vessels to your fingers pass by and pick up the heat. Never tried it but sounds good.
  6. Guy killed on a bike this morning in Peel. New immigrant. Father of 2 young kids. 6 am They say dark clothing. Dark bike. No word on lights. MAKE YOURSELVES VISIBLE!!!!!!!
  7. I'm a careful driver. Not a speed demon. No accidents. This evening I'm in an intersection in the dark waiting to turn left. It's raining. I begin my turn. Last minute I see an older woman. Dressed entirely in black. With a black purse. Black umbrella tipped towards me. Crossing the street to my left. Right in my path. Didn't see her at all thru the rain covered door window. I heard several pedestrians were hit in TO early this morning. I'm not surprised.
  8. That's quite a variation. I know smallies and eyes seem to change colour/patterns depending on their cover and surroundings. Maybe skis can change too.
  9. Well, after Trolling 6 hrs over MondayTuesday, I got shut out. My red/white 10 in jointed Believer got thoroughly washed. Not even the full moon could help me out. 50-52 degree very clear water Boat winterized now. Might take the canoe out if weather permits Still lots of guys out. Including a boat with large "ESOX" on the sides. Good luck Guys
  10. Incredible Well done!!
  11. Hey. You must live in a zoo. Nice shots
  12. A good reminder for us all. But well worth the 21 lb bag. ? Crazy what happened in Tofino yesterday with the whale watching boat.
  13. Well done. Jealous Sigh.....?
  14. Thanks Tom. If there are pike here on Pigeon I'm surprised I haven't hooked one. I'm always fishing pikie structure after eyes. The bass guys should be catching them too.
  15. Are we sure there are pike in Sturgeon? That would be news to me. ?
  16. That's about as good as it gets, Guys. Well done. If that's s tiger, it either got transplanted or there are pike in Pigeon. I hope not! I'm going to give the skis a whirl next couple of days. Will let you know.
  17. From the front
  18. The tree from my neighbor's side where it would like fall
  19. Hi guys. I have a 30-40 ft healthy ash 5 ft away from the cottage on the NW corner. Buckhorn area. I don't appreciate the shade and the leaves/twigs it drops on the roof. A super strong NW wind could potentially bring it down on the cottage. They say all the ash trees are doomed in the next few years thanks to the emerald ash borer. I'm thinking its time to take it down. I'm not very experienced at tree falling. When is the best time of year to do it? I can cut it up for firewood. Should I call an insured arborist? What can I expect to pay?
  20. Likely an old Broad and not much spawning going on anymore.
  21. Good luck. North end is my area. I struck out Monday-Tuesday. I'm in no position to give you advice this time of year. Last year trolling around structure in 10-25 ft produced. Keep lure near bottom. 2.5-3.5 mph. Lots if guys like faster.
  22. The ultimate combo Wynne and Trudeau. We're done.
  23. Fished for skis last evening and this morning on north Pigeon. Temps 54 degrees. Clear water. 12-20 ft. Adjacent to structure/weed beds. 2.5-3.5 mph. Windy. Nothing. Very few boats out there. Good luck.
