  1. Out of Bluffers tonight for 5 hrs Fished 80-130 ft. 50-60 ft down Dipsies/spoons. And riggers with flies. 68-71 surface temps Few hooks and bait out far but lots of bait in tight Darn east wind.
  2. This year none of them working well on Pigeon Lake. Previous years ReefRunner, Shadrap, Walleye Diver.
  3. Glad you are on the mend, Lew. Close call for sure. You musta really pissed off those bees. Or were they wasps or hornets. Not like bees to do that

  5. Picked up 4 and the guy said to weight them so they run hear the bottom? I thought about 1-2 ft up from the bottom along a weed edge.
  6. Nice. Wait till you get a 45 incher. ?
  7. A good dog In Central Park in NYC they have ponds and lots of goose problems Saw a pickup with a cab pull up and 2 Border Collies jumped out and dashed around the ponds. Geese were gone in a flash. Will come back. But this company does the rounds Logo on the truck. "Get The Flock Off". ?
  8. You ever just do it for fun? ?
  9. Thinking of taking in an event. Last minute now. Checked on line Crazy expensive tickets Don't know now.
  10. Wondering if there is any consistent salmon action on the north shore?
  11. Kawarthas? One hook or 2?
  12. Thanks a ton G.mech Did exactly what the link you sent said. Working perfectly. I had no idea propane tank regulators work this way. Thanks again. Learned something new. Peter
  13. I was actually pleased that the pannies where agressively going after the Gulp grub. Way more nibbles than off a normal plastic grub. Must be a good bait. Will try them on a harness too.
  14. Thanks Porkpie. You've been very helpful too.
  15. Cool. Saw a ski jump out of the water boat side last evening after a panfish a lady just lifted out of the water. Scared the crap out of her. ?
  16. So you place a sliding egg sinker 18-20 inches ahead of the harness protecting the swivel/knot by a bead? I guess a bullet sinker might shead some weeds. For sure I'll try this. Then a bottom bouncer for deeper trolling. Always troll near weeds or are weedless flats ever productive?
  17. Have a propane tank about 1/3 full ( comparing to full and empty ones side by side). Get poor heat from all the burners. Put a full one in the BBQ and she gets real hot like supposed to What gives? Bad tank? Fairly new. Same as others.
  18. Well done! I've always had better luck with the sun higher.
  19. Ya so I'm sure minnows would work better. I just hate stabbing a hook thru their mouths or backs. I guess it's ethical. A worm no problem. A much more primitive beast But then is it any different than deep hooking a targeted fish or panfish. I've had great luck rip jigging, using crank baits and stick baits last few years. Squat this year. I've asked others and they are struggling too. Even with minnows. Sinker I guess i better get the worms out. Thought I'd mostly be feeding Rockies. Still bothers me the change in the fishery this year. Thanks for your help everybody. Will keep you posted. Surface water temp 75.
  20. So the walleye fishing on North Pigeon is tough for me. Was way better last year. I don't use minnows. Tried Gulp 3 inch grubs for the first time. Kept getting the tails bit off. Likely from panfish. Anybody have any tips how to minimize this?
  21. Gotta take some crank baits 2-4inches. Walleye Divers etc. Various depths. Countdown Rapalas. Twister tail jigs I don't use live bait.
  22. Had a sluggish hole shot with 3 or more people in my 17.5 Lund. Kawarthas Prop suggested a 4 blade Better hole shot and gained 5mph at 4000 rpm. Went from 20 to 25 mph. I think I lost a bit at the top end. Not sure. But lowest trolling speed increased. All in all was a good move. I think.
  23. After puttin a 4 blade prop on my Yammy 115 to improve hole shot and fuel efficiency at cruising speed, been frustrated at higher min trolling speed. Jumped from 2.2 to 2.5 mph @ 700 rpm. Been using the bowmount MinnKota and steering with the Yammy. Works but boat control is lacking. Today hung out a MinnKota drift sock I've had for years. Took a bit of adjusting. Added about 3 ft of rope and hung it off a midship cleat. Had to be long enough for the sock to stay fully in the water. Too long and risk getting into the prop. BuddaBoom Works great. I'm down to 1.5 mph Boat pulls a bit to that side. Anybody know if there is a downside to the motor with the extra drag at that RPM? Hope I put more eyes in the boat now ?
  24. I'm assuming your comparing apples to apples. Gotta read the fine print. Sounds a bit too good to be true. Just sayin.
