  2. Not sure you want to give her an appliance type gift. Got my wife a Roomba iRobot vacuum 2 yrs ago. It's been a big hit. Does a pretty good job. Not great. But good enough. Still need to vacuum thoroughly occasionally. Just let her loose and leave the house. Will run till battery gets low then goes back to its docking station to recharge if can find it. Parts readily available on line. No problems do far. We call her Hazel. You old guys will know why. Make sure there's some jewelry or lingerie too Or you might get the "look".
  3. Just looked thru their Black Friday sale. This looked good: Hummingbird 899 HD SI combo $600 off Sale price $759.99
  4. Rust advances faster in the warm weather than in winter. I would respray rusty areas and potential problem areas in the spring also. Like bottom of doors, hood and trunk. With spray can.
  5. Wonderful!
  6. Nice fish. Just don't ask about re fogging your engine ?
  7. You're a heck of a fisherman, Steve. You sure have Simcoe dialed in.
  8. I use Krown too Very happy. As Lew said the plastic plugs they put in the holes look good. I hear going down a dusty gravel road after the spraying is a good idea. The dust sticks to the spray and slows down its loss. You can also buy a few cans of Krown or Rust Check and spray the underside yourself
  9. Shoulda just fogged the Yammy ?
  10. I remember one of my old farm clients saying as a kid he used to fork them out of the Rouge River in the spring. Then walk thru Markham and sell them to town folks out of a wheel barrow.
  11. As usual you guys come through with good advice. The boys are 10 and 12 yrs old. They live in Muskoka in the woods with lots of open space. Are both home schooled and very smart. Looks like the Syma quadcopter would be a better idea. Looks like it doesn't come with batteries. Should we get several with a charger? Spare rotors? Several of us uncles are going in on this so the extra expense is not a big deal. BTW got them rods/reels last year.
  12. Outstanding!
  13. Yeah. Was wondering about a drone. This is the chopper
  14. Thinking of getting the nephews remote control helicopters for Christmas. Saw a rather large one at Bass Pro for $65 Says its indistructable. Takes 6 AA batteries in the controls and then the chopper has a rechargeable battery built in. 200 ft range. Are there different qualities to these things? Things to stay away from? I don't want it to die on them in the first week.
  15. Thanks for the heads up
  16. You guys have giant balls to fish in this weather ?
  17. Sorry to hear. Looks like she made the call and you didn't have to.
  18. Cool. So are there too many for the hunters to take? Everybody has their freezers full?
  19. Great story. A foot long fly. Can't be easy cast.
  20. I'm not a CVT guy Bought a Honda 420 2 yrs ago. Been flawless so far. Lots of power and speed. Not too big. Power steering. Fuel injected- these things you want no matter what machine you get. Get hand/thumb warmers and perhaps a windshield if you plan to do cold weather biking.
  21. It's a Lund and the rail slope to the boathouse is pretty steep but I'll re winterizing the wells. Thanks.
  22. I've always wondered about the fogging oil. Seems only the bottom side of the cylinder gets the benefit after I squirt it in. Unlike the old 2 stroke where I sprayed it into the running carbs and drowned her. Using a funnel and hose I pour antifreeze into the rear live well intake and run the pump first to the front well. Then close the front well valve and open the rear valve. I doubt any water gas gone into the pump and plumbing after not running the pump since winterizing. But I'm not sure.
  23. So did my usual winterizing of my 115 and put her to bed. Then took her out again with the nice fall weather. Didn't use the live wells. Do I need to re squirt fogging oil into the cylinders again and turn her over a bit? And do I need to pump more antifreeze into the front and back live well system after not turning pump on since winterizing with antifreeze. Feeling kinda lazy but want to do it right
  24. Well said. The solution needs to come from within. The more you pound them, the more radicals they produce. In Islam, the only sure way to get to heaven is to die for Allah. Their religious leaders need to tell them otherwise. Failing that, any of the suicide bombers or what's left of them, could be buried together with a pig. Or recruit more female snipers.
  25. I like the pee idea. Maybe Lew could reach 30' but I might be a couple short.
