  3. Been a long time since I've drifted there, but, I recommend going with some one who knows the drifts and how to control the boat or with a guide the first time. The first trips there are learning experiences . I'd launch at Queenston.
  4. I buy Forty Creek, it is excellent and local.
  5. Closing for a year or rotating an open season on a yearly basis would be a hit or miss deal. if walleye production is anything like Lake Erie they get a really good spawn and hatch every 3 or 4 years and it is that one age class that drives the fishery until the next good reproduction season.
  6. My dad fished a Pezon and Michel , Luxor through the 50's and 60's, I had both a 300 and a 308 Mitchell, the Luxor was the better reel.
  7. Looking back , I amazed we even caught any fish in the 50's and 60's without the GPS, depth finders, electric trolling motors . direct drive, thumb buster casting reels, Mitchell 300's and other antiquated gear.
  8. Go yourself, net effect is the same and you would probably enjoy the environment there more.
  9. It is far better to hit an immovable object going in a forward direction rather than in reverse, just sayin.
  10. There is a medical condition known as chilblains that you can get from repeated exposure to cold feet, trust me you don't want to develop it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chilblains
  11. There wouldn't be docks were I am speaking of, we'd park and sleep right at the famous Legion Hole, one bridge above HWY.26, fish the waters of Beautiful Joe Park or upstream on the Bighead Conservation Area Land
  12. In the eighties, we all had vans and campers on pickups and slept right in the park at the dam. Same deal at Beautiful Joe Park at the legion on the Bighead.
  13. I don't deep wade when it get real cold so I use a pair of real oversize boot foot hip waders with a felt liner. Not great for walking but works for putting a foot in to land a fish or if the water rises like it is prone to do on the Niagara. Too old to go anything more than kneedeep especially in winter. Surprised I got here after some of the dumb sheet I did wading when younger.
  14. technically that is not a chainsaw.
  15. Hear that Bernier is on the market, at least that rumour is circulating
  16. Seriously , that is a housecat and a smallish one at that , looking at it in relation to the vegetation around it.
  17. I had one tell me to flux off your an a__hole, usually that would get me upset, but it actually made my day that I wasted his time
  18. Didn't they launch the Do Little Raid, B-25's off a aircraft carrier and bombed Tokyo very early in the war, the first year, I don't think a land base was really necessary.
  19. WW 2, the war with Japan on the Pacific front was ended pretty quick with air power and a couple of bombs after a few years of conventional warfare.
  20. years ago people used to swear by Avon Skin So Soft, not the first time a women's product has been used, I sure that Victoria's stuff would be too pricey
  21. that would be the time frame I used it, another that worked but don't see it mentioned much anymore was " Muskol " think it was deet based.

  23. As a kid we swore by stuff called 6-12 think it was made by Union Carbide, worked great until they found it caused birth defects and all sorts of nasty stuff. taken off the market.
  24. These events in Paris have given Justin the perfect out on his promise of 25,000 by the end of the year, let's hope he has the brains to take it.
