My cousin just got a Lund pro guide 1825 with 90hp merc... Amazing boat... Might be a bit bigger then what your looking at... But I believe they have a 17 foot model as well....

So I was wondering.... How many anglers feel they can still be successful without any electronics..... I was thinking about doing a little derby with some friends and family with no electronics just to see... I think it would be very interesting and challenging... I'm assuming my catch would be negatively effected... But I'm still pretty sure I could put enough fish in the boat.... So... Could you still do well for the species you target without electronics...?

Not what I've seen for the most part... Usually people hire a guide to learn how to fish different techniques... Learn what kind of spots/structure hold fish.... What lures work well on certain water bodies... Sometimes it's a rookie looking to fast track the learning curve of difficult fish.... Or even someone that fishes one specie and doesn't want to spend the time to learn another... I did have 1 client openly admit to me a week after we did a trip that he booked me to find spots... And after our trip he spent 2 days trying to find my spots and catch on them with almost 0 success.... But he did say he started catching a lot more fish on spots he already knew before... This was a local angler that is retired and I have yet to see him at all... Let alone on "my" spots... Just what I've seen so far...

I use regular salted crackers... I think they're "premium" brand.... The ones people put in soup... Also.... As mentioned current effects them... Minnows almost always face into the current... So you want the trap set the same angle as the current.... This makes it easier for the minnows to swim in....

Hypocrites.... Don't tell me not to do something when your doing it worse/more then me...

It was either $18 or $28 in rockland.... Couldn't believe it... I have 2 free boat launches within minutes of my house.... Love it... And surprisingly... They aren't as busy as the pay ones... Lol

Off to a good start... First day fishing musky this year my buddy cracked a 48 incher on the cast.... Did a huge tail walk... Awesome fight...

So I went to get what I thought was a bad wheel bearing changed... Est $400-500... I get a call... $3000 + worth of works needs to be done.... Lady said my "front end is falling off"... Whatever that means... Lol Took it for a second opinion.... $1500 total work needed.... Call autozone in NY state.... $877 in Ontario for parts... $350 in NY state!!!!!!! So I went from $3000+ at a "big name" garage to about $1000 at a small no name family owned garage that's been in town for 42 years... I'm glad I got a second opinion... And glad NY state is a 5 minute drive... Pays to shop around...

Jigged up a BIG dead carp off the bottom... Several snapping turtles... Caught a gar by a piece of line that was broke of by another angler... Did the same with a salmon in port hope... Had a beaver on one time... He bulldozed my float/hook/worm set up... Seagull... Had a duck dive down and eat my corn while carp fishing... It was able to shake the hook... 2 smallmouth... 1 rapala... A carp while trolling a crank... Another while drifting a harness... Weird Fence wire from the flooded area of the seaway... Smallmouth on a 10" sucker... Carp on a spinnerbait... Salamander through the ice... Frog on a frog.... Pike on a piece of corn... 50" ski ate my perch... Landed... Ummmmm.... That's probably most of my weird ones....

Dad had a musky he had a hard time reviving... So he brought it to the boathouse and left it in the minnow tank overnight... It was barely breathing after a few hours trying to revive it... It was belly up when dad went to bed... Got up the next day and the fish was fine... Was released...

I'd say its pushing 50"... Maybe 47"-48"... How tall are you... 6 foot?

What if your fish grow beyond the slot and they're in you pond (possession) ??? Lol

I would cut the wire coming from the pump and touch the wire directly to a battery... That'll tell you if your pump is dead (usually the problem)... If by chance it runs doing this you simply put male/female connections where you cut (male on pump end... female on wire going to the switch) and troubleshooting is easier next time...
