Question for Cargo Van owners/drivers (NF)
Garnet replied to sneak_e_pete's topic in General Discussion
Have driven rear wheel drive everything. Get the snows.............. add some weight And parking lots are great for fish tailing and donuts.......... also will teach you how to steer into the slide. If you ever get in one of those long slow slides slip it into neutral and start steering. -
My favorite chemistry teacher said the best sand filter in the world purifies 97% (Oak ridges Moran) and the real nasty stuff dioxin,Mercury, couple others are toxic at 3-4 parts per billion. Bottled water greatest scam in the world have 12 cases down stairs. Queen Bee say's it taste better.

Good smallies, largeys and pike zillions of perch and bonus walleye. You will have no problem with a 16 ft. Tuna boat traffic can be a pain.

That's the fun nobody knows. It will take some work.

Buy a compression tester from Prince Auto $15 - $20. Remove all plugs, look for any that look cruddy then just hand tighten compression tester in each cylinder and turn motor over. The general rule is no more than 10% difference in all cylinders.

The 1 area of Rice that will always be dangerous is mouth of the Otonabe over to Spook Is. then threw the gap at Tick Is. touching Curtis, Shearer, Rack Is. Grasshopper, Margret and to the river to Hastings. If you take the first road off County rd 10 that goes to Harris Boat Works on a warmer day you will see how the current touches all these Pts. it just looks like a river. Just be careful Garnet

The biggest problem is trailer to far in the water. Couple people were right every trailer has a sweet spot and every launch has a sweet spot. Most trailer it's just above the axle. Those bunks are to guide your boat on the trailer. If the bunks are not going to stop your boat before it hits the winch you are in the water to far. Now idle your boat up to the trailer and slip in to neutral and let the trailer center the boat and stop it. If your trailers in that sweet spot your boat should stop about FT short of the winch and the boat should be strait if not make corrections and winch or power up that last ft. Now launching by your self undo the back of your boat LEAVE THE WINCH ATTACHED TO THE BOAT, back into the water just a little further than your load location. Step on the tongue undo the winch if your boat is sliding back you are in just a little to far just hold your boat and take the winch off. Slide the boat back and step into the boat and start the motor and idle off the trailer. Again every boat has a sweet spot. By leaving the winch attached you never lose control of your boat and if it doesn't start getting it back on the trailer is easy. You and somebody that can't drive the boat our handle the vehicle. Most can back it up that .5 ft to get you off the trailer and pull the trailer away from the launch until you tie off. If all the bad things are happening, by yourself, wicked current, bad cross wind. DO NOT PUT TRAILER FURTHER IN THE WATER. Less trailer in the water, all that you want is the trailer to stop your boat, now get the boat strait if it won't stay strait step down on the tongue attach the winch and tighten. Now back your trailer to it's normal load location and either winch or power on. The most accidents I've seen launching was people holding a rope trying to control the boat. I seen a TV star put a bassboat in the back window of a suburban, trailer to far in the water. Roller trailer are a whole different game NEVER UNDO THE WINCH. Seen brand new 26ft Thundercraft bounce down the launch ramp in Bowmanville and stop about 10 ft short of the water.

Different ones for different jobs. I've used most brands owned 2 Jiffy 30 and now have Strike Master Lite. The Jiffy 30 is all metal so very good at taking a beating back country Atv travel ect. It's also heavier than sine. The StrikeMaster Lite is 4 stroke and weights 20 lbs takes strait gas but I don't think it would take a beating and I will probably never get rid of it. Very thing else falls between.

We bought the rogers pvr last year about $300 Bell was cheaper. Don't think I could watch tv without it. Recording just bring up menu move to time slot press rec press A to confirm and done. Door bell rings just press pause deal with the door get a snack and press play, fast forward through commercials. When watching live tv if you miss something just rewind and press play. Garnet

If you were given a million dollars..... what would you buy
Garnet replied to bigredfisher's topic in General Discussion
A million wouldn't change much quick call to Skeeter for 2 boats (bass&muliti species) then Cady Esacalade and a corvette but most important no more winters. Gerrit your plan has serious tax problems you will pay your marginal tax rate (46%) on high interest accounts. I buy bank stock that pays 5-6% div. plus power corp, power financial, riocan,Canada pipe. If you but the mil in these stocks 8 months ago your annual income would have been $70,000 - 23% tax = $53,000 for life. And that's were the rest of the mil would go after queen bee gets her shopping fix. Garnet -
The 2 best when I bought 18 months ago were Pioneer and the Panasonic 1080p. They were both head and shoulders above the other plasma. The screen update of plasma is wild. In nascar you will see how loose the cars are. When watching movies look at the black suits along the shoulder line good plasma are straight and solid. My living room is very bright and I have no problem with reflection. If I was looking now the LG plasma 1080p would get serious consideration. The Sharp LCD was by far the best. We have rogers and could not go with out the PVR. Any live TV and you miss something just hit rwd need a snack just hit pause. Recording a show is so easy I do it. Get a surround sound you will have a lot less hair when you get it hooked up but well worth it. Garnet

Being a guide has nothing to do with your fishing ability. A guide's job is to get clients to catch fish. What that means most of the time is to dum it down. As a guide you get very few seasoned clients, most you start by teaching rod and real mechanics get them making decent consistent cast, then you put the boat in position to catch fish. Great Lakes trolling charters takes the rod out of the clients hands but now you better be entertaining. When you hire a U.S. guide they are mostly licensed and that means safety first not weather they are good anglers. Garnet
