  1. It would be better if there was a tackle store I didn't like. Hirk's is doing a good job. Garnet
  2. You need to start your presentation correctly. That's the float landing up stream and your bait downstream. With practice you can do this every time with accuracy. Them start slowing the float down and even stopping it at key spots making your bait hop up. Garnet
  3. Car battery will not live. get deep cycle cranking battery. Garnet
  4. Fully charge the battery. Either a load tester or a multi meter. Should be between 12.5 and 13.25 if you have the load tester $39 at princes auto load test the battery if that checks good start engine and check battery should be 14+ if battery still test at same volts your charging system is not working. Completely clean battery post and every connection and use white die electric grease on every connection. Garnet
  5. Take a dish cloth and wrap that ring for protection and take the pliers to it gentle. Garnet
  6. Run the line threw your fingers if you feel hard spots it's a quality issue mail it back. Garnet
  7. I were a hydrostadic inflatable when fishing alone. Very comfortable. Garnet
  8. Make sure to head doesn't stick out passed the gunwale and the motor as close to the centerline as possible. Garnet
  9. I found a boat on Scugog 30 years ago and learned. Never turn it over to the police. Phone local cops make a police report after 30 days you can make whats called a Quick Claim and that gives you ownership. The police will want to pickup property up just say no. Garnet
  10. Jack your trailer up, grab the top and bottom of tire and push back and forth any clunk clunk and your bearings are to lose any odd grinding noses not good. Garnet
  11. I'm on my 4th electric knife. The first was the wife's turkey cutter that I had to replace. The start buttons on the top very un comfortable. Had that orange one from BPS worked good couldn't get replacement blades local, blew the main gear after 10 years. Bought Angler something and it was just to powerful cut a perch in half in a second. Now have the Rapala, comes with 2 blade sizes that I replaced last year and bought 11in set. By far the best yet trigger on bottom light just the right amount of power and 7-8 years old and still going. Garnet
  12. Cherry Is to Delmere don't cut threw there Cherry to the point is good. Hog Is to the little Is close to channel don't cut threw there. Garnet
  13. If it's St. Clair and erie I would get 7 ft spinning rods St.Croix has Triumph, Shamanio Clarus at about $80 get 2 and a 6-6 medium heavy Triumph or Clarus bait caster, if you going to Long Point then get 2 bc and 1 spinning. Get some Spider Thread Braid it's the latest technology in braid. Garnet
  14. Try pumping the fuel bulb when wide open might be just losing pressure. Garnet
  15. For the most part I agree with small and stealth. Then there's shore angling were the weedline or shoal or pads are lust a little further than you can cast. Time for the big boys Phantom 3&1 wood comes in very small to lite pike and the clear plastic slip float are even larger. Mail those bad boys out . Garnet
  16. Balsam Pro. is very popular and sites with water electric might be hard to get. Garnet
  17. If you have Mayfair pumps (yellow) they have a similar setup built into pump. Seen at Harris Boatworks Rice Lake. Garnet
  18. Go with the original Redwing Tackle Phantom Floats. There's many cheap knock offs. Garnet
  19. Prince's auto has those types of battery's. Also BPS sells same for Acu Views about $25 and a much better option than portable fish finders. If you get into fishfinder/gps models a bigger battery is necessary. Garnet
  20. I've been very disappointed with Lowrance. You can go on any site and read a thread on Lowrance freezing and get all kinds of reasons. The bottom line is these unit were always intended to be used with trolling motors and if they freeze it's poor engineering and poor quality from Lowrance. I have I Hummingbird si beside a lowrance and the bird never freezes. Garnet
  21. I released 18 lbs in that bag were 5-3 and a 4-15 plus a high 3 and 2 squirts. In a mid season tournament I would weight a 18 lb sack on opening weekend and no classic to make never. Garnet
  22. It's the insurance that kills. Garnet
  23. The launch is always open if the attendants not there HURRY. Garnet
  24. Hydraulic jack plates are very expensive for your return about 1.5 mph, they will improve your shallow water launches . Manual jack plate will get you very close to this performance. You still need to mess with props and heights and then a good boat driver will still get more mph. Garnet
  25. Get the biggest Transmission cooler available and drive careful. Garnet
