  1. Retodd makes very good point it's the habit things that will crush you. Mine jump in the truck fire it up light a smoke OOOOOOOOOOOOps can't do that how does this thing go in to gear without a smoke. Of course eat than smoke. Unfold the newspaper and can't get the 1st paged turn without a smoke.
  2. I feel for you. At 23 I quit because the wife laugh at me watching that quit or die commercial on TV. The next morning didn't buy a pack on way to work, 3pm on the way home from work the 1st available store I was puffing and mad. I found out 20-25 cups of coffee had to stop and having a couple coldies was probably not a good idea. The next tues. AGAIN didn't buy a pack. EXACT gum and Plastic stir stick became a constant habit. The first 2 years was awfull. I made my self allergic to that plastic in straws and stir sticks. For months I would look at my watch say 5 minutes or 2 minutes. I got a verbal warning for walking away from a guy that was smoking and not dealing with his problem. I think what kept me at it, food was like the best sex ever and sex was better but Ham and cheese on white bread mustard mayo and slice tomato's or chess burgers it was heaven. And 126 lbs to 185 in 3-4 months. I work in a giant factory and in the mornings when things were quiet listening to people hack was helpful. If I was to quit today I would get everything patches, acupuncture, the gum those timer things everything. It took 5 years to quit chewing gum. And don't ever think you got it beat, for 20 years about 2 weeks before my tournament season I would have unbelievable nicotine fits . After the 1st month we got sent home early witch was always a trip to some bar with my buddy's. They all new I was quitting so I was getting the gears. After about 3 beers I tied a smoke and it tasted awful I butted after 1 puff and new it was over for me I just need to go threw 2 years of hell.
  3. 85% of there employees can't pay rent. Just a bad company
  4. bribery always works
  5. I've had my strike master lite for 5 years. Runs great and very lite. They changed the auger this year to a more traditional setup.
  6. Getum to check other stores
  7. Jr needs to put up. Any other driver would be driving for front row furniture.
  8. 7500 to 10000 bales on the farm were toys r us in Whitby. For free and the old man wouldn't buy hay elevator. That's what he had me for.
  9. Trolling motors are made for abuse. The most expensive thing to fix are the motor $300 and the board $300. That still makes them cheap. Rocky might cut you a 2 for 1 repair rate.
  10. For me picking other peoples garbage just piss me off. I hang signs take your trash or lose your fishing spot. For me MNR needs about 100 meetings to make a plan for there next meeting, just don't have the patience. Some of the most rewarding things I've done were conservation project related. I was instrumental in having all creeks in Durham Region open to CNR all season. 25 years ago. Run into people every week that got into fishing because Oshawa creek was open 24/7.
  11. Better than flat bar stock. Go to your local spring shop and buy a piece of spring steel maybe 10" and weld to 1"pipe. Just the best. But don't pry with it.
  12. I did 20 years full time on the steelhead creeks now just small stuff from time to time. If the young bucks don't step up I will let it die.
  13. Right from the OB till 4 pages later I never read 1 poster that might go to the meetings Ronnie Rynes (member) and Mike Brown went too. You boys can moan and groan I manned up and for 20 years worked on the north shore cold water rivers (steelhead and Salmon), my interest at the time. Mike Brown and Ronnie went to meeting for 6-7 years probably 75 meeting over that period to accomplish there goals. Every member on this board should mail a $5 bill to each of these boys just for sheer dedication. And man up go to a meeting.
  14. What you see is there stomach. If you immediately release I've never had a problem with floaters. In the boat I've watch perch swim down 20ft never to be seen again. One time I caught the same fish about 20 minutes later in 56 ft. of water and it swam right back down for the second time. And that makes me reject the theory of survival.
  15. Picking boats is just like picking life partners. Throw that spec sheet in the garbage. Buy the boat that you most like the lean on/look at/sit in and hang around with.
  16. Don't think is was a hunters, wild rice is making a huge come back. Think it's zebra mussel fall out.
  17. The old Beno was incredible. You can cast and crank them through the thickest standing grass. Was my go to bait on Scugog. I've had a friend that's into the BBC tackle board looking for 2 years no luck so far.
  18. Universal Studios is on International Dr. One of the giant tourist traps, all kinds of small shops easy walking and the Iride a bus system that travels the whole length. Theirs every restaurant on International Drive and Bass Pro Shop. Food is not cheap in Florida and my guess is the meal plan will be best. It's been years since I've been to Universal. Don't think you could spend more than a day or 2. Bring really good walking shoe because blisters are in your future. Don't get sucked into staying just off Disney 3 miles. When you get to the main gate of Disney you could be 20 miles away from your attraction. You can buy peoples time share on Ebay very cheap. Most have shuttles to the attractions but you are on a very tight schedules that's way it's better to stay in Disney and get on there bus system, a cab ride back will $30. Last year we stayed at the Hilton at the east end of International drive you will see several ponds some have bass in them.
  19. Ya I know pioneer sold and I'm stuck with a Dinosaur but what a dinosaur.
  20. The Panasonic was my 2nd choice. It was a to me retirement gift and every time I looked at the pioneer it was Oooooooo. I also like Whitby Audio for knowledge "price" never bought there. You have 30 to return at Best Buy and agree with comments on futer shop.
  21. Yes that's what I use and being very careful to pinching the front shut and keeping the leader to the back. Also adjust shot inline with leader. And shame of all shames I use winged slit shot because my test were inconclusive on the spinning issue and losing that a justifiability didn't compensate.
  22. Like always theirs different jigs for different jobs. The Denny, Tommy Biffle made by Strike King has a flat face for rolling forward on wood and rock. You can add all the football head jigs to this category. The Stanley Style or Arkie jig that includes BPS Enticer and a better local made jig Punisher are a combination rock, wood, weed. That frankly does nothing well. Notice the head theirs just less lead to role the jig away from rocks and wood and just enough to tangle in weeds. Weed jig is pointed, Punisher makes a good one and Hobie makes a great one. Now you can add a dozen other variation the ball head is fine for swimming baits like grubs and terrible the second it touches anything.
  23. Lets see you are having problems with your split shot fraying flouro. Shouldn't you look at the type of split shot and your method of pinching your shot. With poppers for smallies a short 2ft flouro leader will help keep the nose pointed downward without sinking allowing you to use your bait just a little more aggressively and a little rougher water.
  24. I have a 50" Pioneer Plasma. If sports are thing get the plasma for refresh rate. Look for moving vehicles and if the screen blurs the TV is lower quality. Also edges of suits look fuzzy. The to cheap to believe prices are us usually 60hrz alright for game shows and sitcoms. Seen some LG plasmas that look good.
  25. Go to Steelhead section and get Phantom Swivels. They are 30lb swivel and about the size of a small ant. Reasonably cheap.
