  1. Hey ch, yeah we'll be renting a car, but the plan is lay low and take it easy. Too bad Boca's 3 hrs away, would be fun to try something new fishing in FL. Mike
  2. Rich, That's a priceless report, thanks for posting it... Mike
  3. What did you hunt for, Lew, and why did you give it up? Mike
  4. You might be able to repair it? Mike
  5. There ought to be a report about the report... Mike
  6. That thing is grotesque, not b/c it's a carp, but b/c it's freakishly huge. Mike
  7. That's too bad, I'm always glad to see one of them working. I've been checked several times in the past couple of years, but I had never seen a CO the first few years I fished. One of those times was on the Credit; I was glad to see him. He was working his way down and checking every angler for license etc. Mike
  8. Roger, glad you had a good time there, I thought the hosts were nice and the cabins were comfortable. Really like that part of Nipissing too, except we didn't have that much luck in June... Mike
  9. I'm not sure it's free, a buddy of mine went to cuba for a winter vacation a couple of years ago and he went flyfishing. He had to buy a license... I've never been, but I hear the bass fishing is amazing, and there's some good offshore stuff too if you're into that sort of thing... Mike
  10. ch, we're going to be in Orlando for a couple of days, and then off to stay at an inn on the east coast. Any suggestions welcome. The inn we are staying at is on the waterfront so I might do a little fishing off their pier. They've got a canoe & kayak for guests to use too. Mike
  11. Couldn't happen to a nicer OFNer... Congrats Joey... Mike
  12. Congrats Joey, I assume you'll wear your muskie t-shirt when fishing with that rod? lol Mike
  13. wtg Avery, you're becoming an international media sensation. dk, I've been in Indiana once, visited Bloomington and fished Lake Monroe. Caught only one bass that day... Mike
  14. Reports are few and far between this time of year, so your report is appreciated, whether you catch fish or not... Mike
  15. Consistently good read, and I have learned quite a bit from the articles... Thanks, Mike
  16. gcd, I didn't see the original post. Glad your pup is back home, and hope she has a speedy recovery. Mike
  17. Goran, There's a good forum at this website: Florida Sportsman And I've found a couple of guides now through this website, but not in the Pompano Beach area. Cyberangler Crazyhook has fished in Florida a lot, I'm sure he'll jump in if he sees this thread. Have fun, I'm going to Florida in February and hope to do a little bass fishing and maybe some saltwater shore-fishing... Mike
  18. welcome to the board. Don't know Simcoe very well, but there are lots of good lodges on Nipissing. If you haven't already noticed there are lots of fans of Lakair Lodge (West Arm) here. I stayed at Memquisit Lodge last year and would recommend it, just under the highway bridge from Lakair & Samoset. Mike
  19. Geez I was a slacker in 2006. I don't think I made any big purchases, just a few lures, finally switched to PowerPro, some replacement stuff (swivels, jigheads etc). Mike
  20. Bear it with dignity, like every year! Seriously, winter's okay but I'm happy to see the thaw come March/April... Mike
  21. Nice way to end the season... For a couple who only recently got back into fishing, you have been posting some great reports and some monster 'eyes! Mike
  22. Paul Lynde was a funny guy, actually made watching the show wortwhile back then... Mike
  23. Okay, I'll bite: How long's the commute??? Iive & work in downtown Toronto... Mike
