  1. Here's another vote for Dell, fast, you can build the system you want if you have some knowledge of the technical stuff, and delivered to you within a few days. Decent prices too. Mike
  2. Shaun, Fantastic report, some great 'eyes and some very happy guys on your boat. Mike
  3. Decent sized screen and fast pickup of signal so you can motor to a new spot and be able to tell depth. Mike
  4. Where are you located Pooch? A lot of guys have recommended Aikman's in Mississauga, I've taken a couple of reels to them for servicing and was happy with the results. Mike
  5. OFC, coming soon to your neighbourhood... Mike
  6. LOL! Mike p.s. I think the V stands for vinyl or something. I remember the older guys talking about the new vinyl for some band they really liked...
  7. ua1990, I got a 12V charger from LeB when I bought a new battery for my sonar, but you can probably pick one up anywhere (CT, BPS, Walmart, etc). I think it cost around $50, but I can't remember exactly. Well worth having, the portable sonar I have can run for days on a single charge. (But the battery will eventually give it up). Mike
  8. Yup, interference. We were getting lousy phone reception when we bought a new cordless phone set until I moved the base away from our wireless modem. Mike
  9. And pay attention to what else is near you, I hear that every year some cars go through the ice on Simcoe b/c parking on land isn't convenient, and the people think it's safe to park on the ice b/c there are other cars already there. :o I think MuskyBill posted a picture of some cars that went through from last January... Mike
  10. tjsa, Thanks, I've always wondered why people liked flashers vs. sonars for ice-fishing. There are probably other reasons, but the issue with LCD screens and cold temps makes a lot of sense to me. Mike
  11. Great idea, and a good reason to reorganize your tackle when you have to take them all down... Mike
  12. Thanks for posting this. Neat jig, what species is it used for, and how do you fish it? Mike
  13. Geez, ice reports already?? Mike
  14. Photoz, welcome back, hope you're liking the new board... Mike
  15. Nice trout, fishfinder. It's your report, do what you want with the pics. But I'd agree with some of the others, I'd rather see a untouched photo with just water or the sky in the background, nothing that could give up one of your spots, than a photoshopped photo, but that's just my two cents... Mike
  16. That's a drag, hope Santa rewards you with a new tinny for the 2007 season... Mike
  17. No kidding! And not just the memory, but enough to have a wall of pictures of muskies over 45"! Hope you figure it out Lew... Mike
  18. Nice fish pics so far, guys! I didn't get any personal bests this year. My best pike for the year was 35", caught on a small cottage lake in a paddleboat with no net and no camera. I got this nice largemouth on a trip to Chicago with a couple of buddies of mine, we found a lake about 90 minutes drive away. This was my only fish that day... Mike
  19. First ever muskie, caught in the Fall two years ago on Lower Buckhorn. Mike
  20. Thanks for the report, I'm hoping it warms up a little too... Mike
  21. I'm not a particularly careful guy so I must be lucky, I've never broken a rod. Almost lost one in a lake once, though. I put down one of my rods and was casting a spoon with another one, got a little too enthusiastic and managed to hook the first rod and watched it, in slow motion, flip into the water. Fortunately we were only in about 6 feet of water and my buddy was able to snag the reel using the net. Mike
  22. I've got the Eagle Fish Easy 2 and like it, good value for the money. Mike
  23. Nice to see a report from the Credit, yow it must have been cold, esp. if you did much wading. Mike
  24. hey fishfinder, why didn't you work your magic and put Gerritt's son in front of a Sobey's with a nice rainbow trout? Nice job, great looking photo result... Mike
  25. Like Peter, I've also fished in Alberta where it's all "barbless". Crimping down the barb with a pair of pliers will do the trick, if you can run your finger along the area without catching any skin. I don't know about the paper test, but one of the guys I met while there is a CO and he told me that what I did was fine. Mike
